TOOT! TOOOOT! CHUG CHUG, CHUG! Here comes the Train to Thinsville down the track and into your station, so hop on board and enjoy the ride.
This morning it was cloudy and 41º (feels like 35º) and our high is to be 49º and cloudy with patchy drizzle and winds SSW 10-20 mph.
It’s a gloomy day and it looks like more of the same for tomorrow but a bit warmer. I know it won’t last more than a few days and it will be colder again.
We hope to see what we can do about getting a car to drive but I don’t know if we can do anything today. I want to put it on one of my accounts, but I can’t remember the pin number and will have to wait for a written reply from them in order to reset it. It wasn’t in the mail yesterday so we’re hoping it will be today.
Yesterday I read a Nancy Drew mystery, something I haven’t done in many years. DSis and I would go to the library and I would always come home with a Nancy Drew book. This one is titled The Sign of he Twisted Candles by Carolyn Keene and it was really good and held my interest all the way to the end. MJ has been reading a lot of these kinds of books over again too and is enjoying them.
Aunty Acid – Sat & Sun Feb 2-3: Shhhhhhhhh! Can you hear that? Yep, it’s my beautiful, soft, warm bed calling my name. I really must go see what it wants. Good night.

Good morning!
It was 52º when we went to breakfast this morning. Amazing! It's supposed to stay this way for a few days. Then it will get colder, but maybe not as cold as before. The pain injection works well for me! My back feels great. My cheeks are rosy red, I am a bit shaky and my blood sugar is up a bit this morning. These are all normal effects of the steroid and should go away in a few days. Well worth ten weeks of pain relief.
DH has gone to pick up DGD3 to spend the day with us, as usual. This afternoon, when her dad picks her up, he will report to us about his new doctor and what she has said about his continuing the infusions. Prayers for whatever treatment he has to do what it needs to do. Even if the lungs are not healing with the infusions, they make him feel so much more comfortable that I hope whatever he gets does that at least.
Doris, I used to love Nancy Drew! You have given me an idea for what to read next.
Have a happy day! Diane

Good morning Doris & ATF,
Sunny now and 17; the high will be 36. I understand the PA & Staten Island groundhogs did not see their shadows so we will have 4 weeks left of winter. I don't believe that!
I'm off the WW to weigh in but I'm sure I gained some weight back. I've been stuck in the house since Wednesday night eating out of boredom.
Back from WW and yes I gained.....3#. So you know what I did! I stopped at Dunkin Donuts and bought a blueberry muffin and a medium coffee. Now it's that sick!
Mass at 5pm and no other plans.....maybe some wine and popcorn. Yes my bingo markers were frozen but I didn't venture out of the house.
Have a great day everyone!

Diane,
I agree that having those side effects for a few days can be handled when you get three months of pain relief. I hope you will be feeling better soon.
Have fun with DGD3 today. I hope her Dad will be able to keep on with in infusions since they make him feel better.
I think reading Nancy Drew books is what got me started on all the mystery books that I enjoy.

Emily,
I'm sorry you saw a gain at WI but it will come off quickly. The blueberry muffin sounds good to me and I hope you enjoyed it.
We had the same thing with weather too, because it is completely clouded over the groundhog didn't see his shadow. I don't know whether to believe it either.
Enjoy a quiet evening with your wine and popcorn.

Sometimes it's fun to reread a really good book. I often forget the details and then remember why I loved it so much. One I read as a child was Heidi and I read it more than once but reading it in the past few years again was like a breathe of fresh air. We didn't have Nancy Drew in our tiny country school library or I'm sure I'd of read them. I even read the encyclopedias as the limit on reading material was so slim. I'd read the Bible too but usually didn't get much past Genesis as that is pretty spicy in places! Then all the boring rules. When my mom went to the nursing home one of the aides was sure she knew all the rules and regulations so my mom called her Leviticus, but not to her face. My Mom is the reason I worked on a committee to make the nursing home more homelike and now that is the norm. Doris you inspired me to check out the Cozy mysteries and so downloaded some onto my Kindle yesterday but currently reading an Amish book, fiction.
I don't think the ground hog will see his shadow here either but having above freezing temps is pretty nice at least for as long as it lasts. So we should less than 6 weeks of winter, but I doubt it.

Phyl,
That piece of mail didn't get here today either.
I hope Don was able to help Jeana with the broken pipe at her rental.

Helen,
I'm glad your mom let you know that the aides didn't know all they were supposed to and was able to tell you about it.
Its good to hear you are trying out the cozy mysteries on your kindle. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
I hope the groundhog is right and the rest of this winter won't last too long.

Hi!
DS told us that his new doctor did a total work upon him -- three hours face-to -face! Then ordered blood work -- 17 vials of blood drawn! and once she has the results of that, she'll order the infusion. She also wants him to start some vitamins, go gluten-free, and take gabapentin three times a day. It sounds like she is really going to work on him!
Time to decide about our dinner -- I think we'll have leftovers from yesterday.
See you tomorrow! Prayers for good night. Diane

Diane,
It sounds like your DS's new doctor is a good one. I'm glad she ordered all those tests so she can find out exactly what is going on with him. I hope the blood work shows any problems he may have.
