WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Good morning! Yesterday was the best day I’ve had in a long, long time. Funny, I packed my cooker but I forgot my chick pea salad in the refrigerator. Some other moms and I ended up going out for a late lunch, so it worked out fine. Eating in the evening was not great. We really didn’t expect to win this tournament and move on to states. Ironically, the last team we wrestled was the same team we were up against last Thursday. It came down to the very last match on Thursday, but it wasn’t even close yesterday. We won all but 1 match. Alex lost a point for calling his opponent a name when the match was over. Coach is ready to duct tape his mouth shut.
Nancy, excellent weigh in! You continue to amaze me. Correct, I eat everything except meat and poultry. I’ll wave to your family while I’m in Columbus.
Lori, I plan to make the muffins today. I’m intrigued, but honestly not expecting to love them. I hope I’m wrong.
Kathy, I think men are good at that—treating farm animals humanely but without sentiment. DH was talking about giving some of our older hens away for soup chickens (he knows I won’t prepare them), and I just about lost it. Ironically, they’ve started laying once and a while again since he said that. I told him to get rid of our 2 roosters instead. They’re just a$$h.......

Jan, WHOOHOO!!! So Exciting!! Happy for everyone!!! Good Luck in Columbus!!..I think you will be very surprised how good the muffins come out. Yesterday I made a batch, 2 tsp cinn. Omitted the pumpkin spice and topped with mini choc chips instead of nuts...still 1 point...they come out of the oven looking Hugh and then deflate a little - still a nice size muffin. Hope you enjoy as much as I do... Nancy, Awesome WI - switching it up is working Great for you! Hi Louise!!
Happy Super Bowl day!! Lori

I did get to DGK's pole vaulting event this morning. Last time she made 8' but not 8'6". This time she made 7'6" but not 8. Still fun to watch. And she got her braces removed. She looks fabulous!! Then I met my friend for 3 times around the mall. It's beautiful out today, so I'll probably take another walk but this time outside. Not sure if we're playing pool.
DH asked for chinese takeout. I'm going to isolate my meal - small order of shrimp, broccoli, water chestnuts and snow peas, no rice, 2 vegetable spring rolls. The rest of the day comes to 14 points and 899 calories.
Jan - Awaiting your report on the muffins. So excited for the Columbus meet. I'm sure Alex has had his share of lecturing from you <g>. These kids try our patience, don't they?
Lori - I'm not really switching it up. I seem to do best with the points and calorie combination accompanied by as many 10,000 step days as possible. Still finding it hard to make the strength training a routine. The weights are on my coffee table in front of the TV and yet I manage to forget about them.

Thanks, Louise. You’re correct, the state tournament is a huge deal!
Lori, the muffins are good! I realized that I didn’t have blueberries, so I put in 1/2 cup chocolate chips and a few walnuts. I got 14 muffins.
Nancy, I lectured him on this morning on the effects that diet and vaping have on his performance 😉 Honestly, I’m surprised he hasn’t punched anyone yet. We’re all waiting. What a beautiful day here, too! I hope you made it outside for a walk.

I did make it outside for a walk. It was lovely. And we were very happy with the Chinese meal - it's a new restaurant and the first one we've liked in a long time. I realize though that I could easily have split my meal into two nights, half the small portion and one spring roll each night. DH felt the same way. So here's our new plan for a while. On Sunday night chinese with the other half on Monday. And the next Sunday night Boston Market, also divided into two nights. That will break it up for us as we're getting a bit tired of our menus. And it will give me Tues thru Fri to catch up on the calories. I'm looking forward to it. BTW I just love having you BFFs for sounding boards <g> XXOO
