Happy Valentine's Day to all! Any Plans?
I have the Classroom psychologist coming in. She's very nice but tells all the kids "peace and love" asks them to "tell her something good" and gets scared when they have a behavior. These kids have Autism!
Then the state consultants are coming in the afternoon! That's always uplifting- NOT.
DH has mason's tonight- so we will grab a quick dinner of soup and sandwiches.
But we are going away for a long weekend. So I'm very excited!
Hope you all have a day full of love and friendship. Whatever the day may bring.

Happy Valentine's...back to reality after my lovely quiet days! I'm going to try to take Leia to daycare today, she (we) have been cooped up too long! I know I'll be fine if I can just get to the car, LOL. We might have celebrate last night, watched a lot of DVR...and pizza. Who can ask for more??? J has a lot to get done before we head out of town Sunday; I just need to stay on top of things, it felt lovely to get so much done these past days. Have a good one...❤️😍🌹💌❣️ ( doordie50 Just saw you are puny...feel better!)

Happy Valentine's Day!
Feeling sleepy this morning, but probably because I got up early to make breakfast and exchange gifts. Hubby bought me a beautiful mix of white and red roses, concert tickets to Lincoln Center, a remote food thermometer and a candy/deep frying thermometer. I'm embarrassed to say he got less. Just a shirt that reads "My bird thinks I'm perfect" and a CD set of Schubert (Andras Shiff). I'm still thinking about what to have tonight.

Good morning! We woke up to wild and wooly weather; rain, lightening, tornado south of us, high winds. This storm should blow out of here later this morning and then we'll have clear skies and temps in the 60s. We've already had 1.5" of rain. ksbruns I've put in an order for nice weather for you and J when you come to Texas next week; it looks good for now so I hope that holds! doordie50 Hope you feel better soon. hpeterson1951 Good luck with your visitors today. Enjoy your weekend away! lmenglish & cyndee Sounds like your DHs are quite the romantics. How nice! thyme2 Good luck at the doctor. Hope they can figure out what's been happening. Have a great day to you all!

susieq25679, not sure what kind of scallops those are, but I have a great recipe for scallops that taste fried and served with a chili mayonnaise...NOw I'm craving that recipe!

Valentines
I gave a hundred valentines. A hundred did I say? I gave a thousand valentines one cold and wintry day. I didn't put my name on them or any other words, Because my valentines were seeds for February birds.

Linda - Most scallop boats go out for days at a time. Scallops are perishable so they are treated with a brine to preserve them until the boat returns. Day boats literally go out for the day and come back which means the scallops can remain dry as opposed to preserved in a brine solution. Diver means they have divers that collect them rather than dredge the sea floor. They normally go for between $21.99-$25.99 lb. My fishmonger shares dock space with the local fishing boats and gets everything fresh off the boats. Because it's slow season here, I was able to get them for $17.99 lb. Since it's only me, I got 1/2 lb. so it's reasonable for a meal. A hot cast iron skillet, salt and pepper are all that's needed. (I used to date a scallop fisherman) I also picked up a couple of lobster claws to have a lobster roll tomorrow.
