TOOT! TOOOOT! CHUG CHUG, CHUG! Here comes the Train to Thinsville down the track and into your station, so hop on board and enjoy the ride.
This morning it was cloudy and 47º with dense fog (feels like 43º) and our high is to be 57º and cloudy with patchy drizzle and winds S 10-15 mph.
It’s a gloomy day and it looks like more of the same for tomorrow but a bit warmer. Tomorrow it looks like we will be back to cold weather again.
Last night Hannah and Rachael went to a dinner given by the Vietnamese students at Hannah’s school. She has been so friendly with these students that she was asked to speak at the dinner.
We hope maybe to see tomorrow what we can do about getting a car to drive but we still don’t have the letter from the credit card company. I want to put it on one of my accounts, but I can’t remember the pin number and will have to wait for a written reply from them in order to reset it.
Yesterday I finished reading a Nancy Drew mystery, The Scarlet Slipper Mystery. This one is about ballet dancers from another country who are having problems in her city. The one I’m reading now is titled The Secret of Mirror Bay by Carolyn Keene and it is good and as all the other ones I’ve read.
Aunty Acid – Sat & Sun Feb 2-3: Shhhhhhhhh! Can you hear that? Yep, it’s my beautiful, soft, warm bed calling my name. I really must go see what it wants. Good night.

Good morning Doris & ATF,
Sunny and currently 33; the high will be 47.....wow a heat wave!
Today Ed will join me to visit with TJ and family. He hasn't been there for a while between work and being sick. TJ will be happy to see uncle Ed.
Guess I'll be joining the rest of the country watching the Super Bowl tonight. I really don't care who wins...they are not my favorite teams. Both teams, I believe, have records to break. Tom Brady being a quarterback in his 40's and I'm not sure about this but the most Super Bowl wins. The Rams quarterback is the youngest one and their coach is also very young. So good luck to both teams and I hope it's an exciting game.
Doris, no mail today so I'm guessing MJ will need to wait till tomorrow. I hope the PIN number comes soon.
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning!
Today it is 59º and supposed to go up to 66º later. Then it is to stay warm all week until it crashes next weekend. I guess the country is warming up for a while. We'll go to church this morning and then on to brunch. As usual, we hope DGD will join us. We enjoy that time with her very much. This afternoon, DH will watch football and I'll watch some things I have recorded. Tonight's dinner will be leftovers from our lunch out with DGS. I don't know why restaurants serve such large portions, but we use every bit of the food. It is delicious and so easy to fix!
Doris, hope a car works out for you. Have a happy day! Diane

Emily,
I hope you and Ed have a nice visit with TJ's family today. Your weather sounds pretty good for this time of year. Ours is turning a lot colder overnight we hear.
We plan to watch the Super Bowl tonight too, but I don't have a preference for either team and I don't think MJ and the girls do either. We'll have some munchies and that will be our supper tonight.

Diane,
Enjoy the mild week coming up. We are going back to cold temperatures tonight. The only good thing about that is that the dogs won't come in with muddy paws after being out in the yard. I don't know how long it will last, but it will probably be quite a while.
Its nice that DGD can usually join you for lunch out.
I know what you mean about the big portions restaurants serve. We take things home too and it is usually good for another meal.

I really don't care who wins the super bowl either but Dave says both teams have someone who has an association with Nebraska so that would not make a difference who won. At any rate I'm sure I'll not really watch it but Dave will. I took a walk this morning before church and hardly needed a coat and now it's close to 60. Cloudy so it seems colder. Our church is celebrating 30 anniversary so there was a special speaker and activities.
Tomorrow we are going on a docent tour of the inovative campus. This used to be the state fair grounds and when the fair venue was moved to Grand Island various things were started in that space. I don't really undertand what so tomorrow we may learn a little more.

Phyl,
We don't know why it is taking so long to get that letter, but hopefully tomorrow it will arrive. With even the post office closed the other day that may be the reason for the delay.
If you get a haircut today I hope it comes out the way you want it to.

Helen,
I'm not going to watch the game either. MJ made 2 Chex mixes, one the regular one and another one for Hannah who is allergic to nuts and can't eat the regular one. Rachael and Sarah decorated some small square pretzels with frosting and sprinkles to have for munchies tonight too.
It may have felt warm out there today, but it looks like tomorrow we'll be back in the deep freeze. I knew the mild temps wouldn't last long.

Doris, have you ever had the oyster crackers snacks. They have Hidden Valley Ranch dry dressing and dill weed among other things. They are so good warm, will post the recipe if you thought you might like them.
I got side tracked when DGD and her DH came with baby Emma. that little girl is sure changing fast. She is losing her hair and also her eyes are a lighter blue now. she holds her head up really well and checks out everything. She was cooing and smiling even wrinkling up her nose today at me. So fun. Wish I saw her more often. It is hard cause DGD doesn't get home from work until almost dark. too late for me to drive even if roads are clear.
Did send DGS#1, a Go Rams Text today, he has been a fan of the Rams for years though thick and thin and mostly thin. He is a nervous wreck today. I am not watching, have a good book. and maybe a movie.

Connie,
MJ has that recipe, but as far as I know she hasn't made it. I don't think she and the girls like oyster crackers and that may be why. They made Chex mix to munch while watching the puppy bowl and the football game.
I'm sure you are enjoying baby Emma. Its such fun watching babies grow and change, especially during that first year. She sounds like a little doll.
