Good morning all. Today is the beginning of a 'new week' and I for one will most definitely hit that weight watcher re-set button! Nuff said. Our temps are holding in the double digits so that's a good thing. I did end up getting out and taking a hood walk. It was messy walking, but doable! We have a few errands to run and then back home again. Chicken is on the menu for tonight...not sure what the sides will be, but it will be a very light meal. The Chinese was good last night and I enjoyed it, but now it's 'talking to me'. Happy the Past won...what can I say Take care all and enjoy your day!

Doggone - I just lost my post again! Well, to summarize...I just came back from a great walk outside in the balmy, SUNNY, warm 60 degrees. It felt wonderful. I needed to clear the cobwebs out of my head and get some fresh air. The "girls" were walking the stacks in the library. I wanted the fresh air so found a buddy and off we went. I have half my steps in now.
Pam, thanks for your Patriots support! You were right- we won our 6th Super bowl in 17 years. It's still very exciting and nothing to take for granted. It was a boring game until the 4th quarter and even then, not thrilling but they got the job done. The big duck boat parade is tomorrow in Boston. I know the Patriots are the team most of the country loves to hate, but I also hear that when they are betting money, that's the team they choose. LOL
I made a pizza from an older WW cookbook and it came out great. Then, I also made a Skinny Taste red lentil soup in the Instant Pot. Both were great and low in pts which is a good things since I ate my share of them during the game in an ice cream, a beer and some other snacky treats. Our DS called a few times during the game which was nice and he was very pleased to have brought empanadas to his in law's party. I had a fun Facetime with my DGD yesterday. They were headed to the aquarium yesterday but it's a long schlep from their home and I suggested a quick trip to Petco instead to view the hamsters and guinea pigs and see the fish there so upon their return...they face timed again to show off a new blue Beta fish. My DGD was over the moon excited with Nemo as she named him! Kids love places like Petco as much as the huge zoos at age 4 and 2! Plus she was able to hold a few guinea pigs and a mouse and hamster. It doesn't take much to be thrilled at 4! The wonder of it all, right? I love the age of innocence.
I did not sleep great last night and was up a few times so tonight will be to bed early. Tomorrow I am committed to go to Water aerobics after work at the YWCA. No excuses this week!
I decided to take Friday off to get ready for my book club dinner. There will be 8 of us for dinner and there's no way I can pull that off on a weeknight since they arrive at 7 and I get home about 6. Phew...that's a relief.
Have a great day all. Glad you had a good Chinese dinner, Ann. I know what you mean about sodium, though. TTFN!

Good afternoon to Ann and AWF!
Congrats to the Patriots. DH was pulling for the Rams, even after the Saints-Rams debacle just to have someone else win for a change. Kinda like "anybody but 'Bama" in college football.
Well, my housework schedule is messed up because I didn't get to do last Monday's laundry until late last week due to my sprained ankle. I can probably get away with one load today and be back on schedule. I'm also washing small rugs that will fit in the washer. I am fairly mobile now, so am attempting floor cleaning and mopping, which is badly needed. Between DH's renovation efforts and past rainy days, the floors are filthy, even though I managed to sweep a little.
This evening we will be going to the Revitalization Town Hall meeting. DH also has a Cultural District Board meeting and a committee meeting. He will be in meetings from 4:30 until 8:30 or so. We have planned a soup and salad dinner which will be quick and easy, since we had soup in the freezer. I think it is potato, cheese and broccoli soup. I had fruit and yogurt for breakfast and plan on salad with a little sliced leftover steak as the protein. I'm trying to hold off for a late lunch since dinner will be so late.
Have a great OP day!

Judy, you and I were posting at the same time again. Great minds think alike, lol! I'm with you on walking outdoors if at all possible. The fresh air and sunshine really pumps up my mood.
Petco as a kids' outing is a great idea!!! I will keep it in mind the next trip to MI. I love that DGD named her blue Beta fish Nemo.
I had a trying time getting to sleep last night. DH had restless legs and kicked my hurt foot twice, so I crawled to the very edge of my side of the bed, only to have Callie-cat jump up on the bed and land right on top of my foot. Added to that, my nose was very stuffy. I may need a nap today.
Back to work!

We just came back from a lovely 'hood walk' with LuLa. It's great out there today! Have to watch where you are walking as it's icy in some spots and very wet...but good just the same. Got to chat with several people that were doing the same thing Judy, yes the 'age of innocence' is wonderful. Nice that you can enjoy all they are going through Sorry you didn't sleep well. Funny but 2 of my friends also had that problem. Perhaps it's something in the air. Glad you are taking off from work to get ready for your book club meal. Enjoy. Also have fun at water aerobics. Pam talk about a double whammy with your poor foot!!! I hope you aren't in an pain from those mishaps. I swear I spend half my life shaking throw rugs and sweeping the floor, especially this time of the year. I'm also doing laundry today. We were going to run errands, but got waylaid. Tomorrow is another day! Waving to Sue and will pop in tomorrow.

Hi all, It's a beautiful day and I saw a big rainbow on the way in. So pretty. I had my WI this am and not surprised to see a bump up despite my planning good meals, etc. It was the "other stuff" that pushed the scale up and I know it so here's to getting back on track asap.
Tonight I start water aerobics! I am excited about it.
I think the underlying news about my SIL's disease is causing a lot of sadness and stress and a bit of distraction for me right now. It's so surreal and unbelievable, really. I am noticing I am not as patient and tolerant at times as I usually am.
A generous colleague brought me in Chicago deep dish pizza that he had flown in for the super bowl from one of Chicago's famous restaurants. It's thoughtful but not what I need to get back on track. LOL I will have a bite or two to tell him how good it is. I think one slice is more than a day's worth of pts.
Have a great day friends.
Update: I went for a long walk at noon again. So delightful and nice, fresh air! Does more for the mind than the body!

Hi Judy...yes it's another great day in New England Judy have fun at your water aerobics class. I hear you about the stress over DDIL and losing patience. That same thing happens to me each and every time I face going for another 'doctor appointment'. As much as I try not to dwell on it...it's THERE. LOL OMG I can just imagine the Chicago deep dish pizza that was flown in for you to have. I think you are right in saying a slice is more than a day of points. You are wise to take a bite or two...good luck with that. I would NOT have that type of restraint LOL. Remember, what goes UP (on the scale) will come down. You know what you need to do for you. I have faith in you to do it We ran errands all day long and then walked miss LuLa around the hood. Such a great day to be out and about. Tomorrow is another busy day as it's 'Enzo day' just for a well needed haircut. Going to sit and relax a bit. Take care, all!

Good afternoon!
It's a dreary, cloudy day here, but blessedly warm. I was up early and in town for hospice team meeting. Our patient census is finally going back up to normal and I will be getting a new patient this week, if they consent to volunteer services. The family is well-known to me, though I've never met the patient.
After the meeting, I went to Walmart for groceries. When I came out, it was raining and since I had no umbrella, Murphy's Law said my car should be parked way across the parking lot. Sigh! Just as I got to my car it started pouring. I was able to grab an umbrella and load my soggy groceries into the back of the Highlander, but dropped it trying to load a big bucket of cat litter and got rain inside it. Double sigh! I looked like a drowned rat when I got home.
I missed breakfast and forgot to grab a protein shake, so was very hungry for lunch. I had taken out some turkey meat from the freezer yesterday and used it to make lowfat turkey salad for a sandwich. Baby carrots and a cup of lowfat cheesecake yogurt made a nice meal. Dinner will be salad and 4 cheese pizza for me, meatlover's for DH. All has been tracked.
I chatted with DD3 who was incensed yesterday when she picked up the kids from daycare and overheard another mom picking up her sick child say, "Well, he did throw up a couple times yesterday afternoon. I guess we should go to urgent care." DD spoke with the daycare director and was assured the mom was given both an explanation and a written copy of the daycare's policy regarding illness. When DD dropped off kids this morning, the same mom was trying to drop the kid off and the director was having none of it, because he was not fever-free 24 hours. The mom was visibly upset, but the director held firm. They have had a terrible problem lately with people bringing sick kids, who are miserable and sad and who not only infect other kids, but also staff members, which then creates a staffing problem. DSIL also had a co-worker with Influenza A come to work this week, coughing so bad they were afraid she would stop breathing. Another co-worker, with a wife who is fighting cancer and immune-compromised, complained until they sent the flu-bug home. I just don't understand some people!
I'm planning an early dinner and then heading to church for a video on getting the most from Mass attendance. I am very pleased that our current priest is very pro-active in offering educational and community opportunities. I don't always go, but attend more activities than I miss.
Ann - I'm glad you were able to get out and about with the lovely Miss Lula.
Judy - I'm a thin-crust pizza fan, so the deep dish pizza wouldn't have tempted me. Your plan to have a couple of "polite" bites was good.
Sue - Heard you might get another snow day tomorrow. Stay warm!

Pam so sorry you got caught in the downpour and had the mishap with the kitty litter. Nothing quite like wet litter!!!!! Hopefully tomorrow will be a better 'weather' day for you. Your lunch sounded delish. I'm exhausted. Partly due to the walking outdoors. Guess I'm just not used to it...plus all the running around we did today. I was quite pleased to discover that my appointment with Enzo isn't until 12:30 I wrote 10:30 on my calendar. Good thing I have the card. Now at least I can sleep longer. Sweet dreams...it will be an early to bed night for me

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! Sorry I haven’t posted all week. I have peeked in a time or two to see how all of you were, but the time just wasn’t there. Monday after school I made a trip across town to Victoria Secret to pick up a bra. My favorite was on sale and I had a gift card, so there you have it. I bought a new color. Yesterday after school I went grocery shopping. By the time I got everything put away, it was time to start supper. Where does the time go??
Sunday was fun at our house. DH went Kroger shopping, and I curled up in my recliner with my Kindle and read. I asked Alexa to “play a song for me” and she chose the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with the Carpenters. The Carpenters are a favorite of mine (how did she know?) and the same familiar songs I have come to love were even more beautiful with the full orchestra accompaniment. What a treat!! Monday and Tuesday were (as expected) difficult days getting the kiddos back in the routine. Though they were happy to be back, there were a lot of disruptions. We just made some headway and now we’re off again today.
We had a terrible ice storm overnight (which was predicted well ahead of time) and as expected, our schools are closed again today. It will get well above freezing this afternoon, so hopefully it will melt and tomorrow life will go as usual. We have now run out of paid snow days, so we are all off without pay; and we are perilously close to having to add days at the end of our school year. Even with the three extra days (unpaid) that we got from the Governor’s emergency order last week, we are looking at having to go into an extra week to meet the requirements for Head Start. No one is happy about that. It will also impact our summer Child Care programs with staffing, etc. Oh well, there are those who make a lot more who have the task of figuring all that out and making it work.
I woke up at the same time and found the text that the schools were closed. Fortunately, we had power (the loss of which had been a very real possibility when we went to bed). We had leftover pork roast last night with noodles & gravy and roasted fresh broccoli & cauliflower. I have been trying not to eat after supper. Last night I had a pudding cup but close to suppertime so more dessert than snack. Still and all, I went to bed hungry and seems DH did too, as we woke up hungry this morning. We made a pot of oatmeal with blueberries in it and shared a fresh orange on the side (with toast for DH). This morning I have started some laundry and a pot of Turkey 3-Bean Chili for supper.
Judy ~ I totally understand about the distraction of DSIL. I have had “things” that get in the way of my every day and much as I try to push them aside, they are always just there! Remember “this, too, shall pass”. Everything does. Any amount of worrying won’t change the outcome (sad but true). You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Pam ~ Hope your ankle is continuing to improve. That is certainly a lengthy process, if I remember correctly. I agree about walking outdoors, it is the best! I try Mall walking sometimes but end up stopping too much. My chiropractor had suggested I try walking in Meijer, but same thing happens. Yikes about the parent trying to bring a sick kiddo to school! We have that same problem, and oftentimes have to call the parent to come back and get the child. Our policy is fever-free and emesis-free for 24 hours. I fully understand the problem of not only infecting other kiddos, but also the staff (been there, done that).
Ann ~ Hope you got a good night’s sleep. Enjoy your getting beautified today!!
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all,
Happy Hump day. It is sunny and chilly but not too bad today. Nothing like the 65 we had yesterday for the big Patriot's parade, but we'll take it, especially since we are due for freezing rain by 7 tonight.
I went to my first Water Aerobics class last night and I loved it. I made it to the YWCA with my gift certificate in hand and was given a great tour of the facility and had time to relax a bit and get ready for the class at 6:30. I did not get home until 8 PM by the time I had a quick shower and dressed. DH is wonderful that way and told me to go whenever I feel like and he can "fend" for dinner. He's capable of finding something. LOL I plan to try to go twice a week if I can. It felt SO good. My membership is good through August and they have many other types of classes Pi-Yo, Yoga and Kettle Bells for example but I will probably stick to swimming. I always loved the water and used to be on a swim team but am in such bad shape now that I could not swim laps yet. Maybe that's a goal! The water was warm and the people were nice.
I had a light dinner when I got home - a FF Kosher hot dog and then I watched more of Loch Ness.
I had a message from my DSIL last night. THey are at their FL home in Naples for a few days waiting for test results and fly back up today to see the doc on Friday and hopefully start chemo on Monday. She is very strong and brave and matter of fact. I admire her more than I can say.
Sue, wow you sure have lost a lot of time at work this year with the cold and ice. Yikes! It's nice for you to be able to be home during the bad weather, though. I would not mind a snow day or two - lol - but I am sure all this time is rough for a lot of folks especially unpaid. I love the Carpenters, too. I think Alexa can read our minds! I guess the algorithms figure it out fast when we request music from certain eras. Didn't Karen Carpenter have the most lovely voice ever? The older I get, the more I appreciate it.
I am reading a new author Victoria Thompson who writes historical series mysteries. This is series is called the Gaslight Series, and they seem to be quite popular. It's a nice change, and I love history. I was unable to get the first book in the series, but I don't think it matters all that much. I'm always happy to hear any of your recommendations, friends!
Pam, your daughter, you and I have the same pet peeve. People bringing SICK children to school/daycare/etc. is awful. What is wrong with them? Unfair to their own child and to all the others including staff and little ones. My DDIL has fits about it since she is pregnant and also has celiac disease and seems to have fairly low resistance. She is especially incensed by all the parents who do not inoculate their kids for measles, mumps, rubella, polio, etc. Schools are unable to push it these days for individual religious rights. I understand, but I think they should home school their kids in that event. It's pretty scary since these diseases are reemerging. It's terrifying for some people with low immune systems. Sorry you were caught in a deluge but glad you got home okay.
Ann, enjoy your visit with Enzo! It's a nice day to be out and about. The deep dish pizza was "ok". I think it would have been better the first day. I am really a thinny thin crust person, too. But, I appreciated the generosity and especially loved the wings!
TTFN and I'll check in later.

Good Morning all! It is 1 minute before noon, so I can still say that, lol. DH and I both slept in until 8:00 AM, quite unusual for him. If I wake and he's still in bed, I have to touch to see if he's breathing and warm, . I think he is catching my cold, which I have just about kicked to the curb. I have puttered around this morning doing little chores that I have been noting all week and thinking, "I need to do that". Not much else on the agenda, other than choir practice this evening. It is warm and partly sunny out, so I may do some puttering outdoors for a change of pace. I need to fill the bird feeders, put out my Valentine yard flag and empty some potted plants that didn't survive and are now potted weeds. The lantana needs to be cut to the ground, a job I hate, because I usually end up scratched and bleeding. Long sleeves and gloves will definitely be needed if I attempt that job. I tried the Butterball turkey sausage patties for breakfast this morning, along with a boiled egg and light English muffin. Not bad for only 90 calories for 2 patties. Lunch will be more of the turkey salad I made yesterday, but probably on lettuce, instead of a sandwich. Dinner will be the ham I have simmering in the crockpot, mashed sweet potatoes and shredded cabbage slaw made with Garlic Expressions dressing. I have it tracked already to discourage unplanned snacking. The scale seems to be inching downward, but that may just be muscle loss from inactivity. DH and I have very much enjoyed Sunny Radio and play it all the time now. I'm not sure if it goes away completely, or just adds commercials after the 30 day trial, similar to Pandora. DH and I watched an interesting movie on Prime last night called "Robot and Frank". Good plot and cast and was recommended in the past in AARP's movies for grownups list. Well, it's time to delve into DH's medical bills and begin the process of arguing with the provider. I spent nearly an hour on the phone Monday with the insurance and a provider over one of my bills. The customer service rep with the insurance company was kind enough to do a 3 way call and advocate for me after I told her I had already talked with the provider in Nov. and Jan. and was told one bill had been posted incorrectly and my balance was zero and yet I have been billed again. I was also told my pneumonia & flu shots weren't covered by the insurance, which I found strange. The insurance rep told me they didn't pay because the provider billed incorrectly. I won't be paying a dime until this is resolved. To say I'm dreading dealing with DH's bills is an understatement, since his bill is large. Have a great day all!
