I was 17 and had just graduated from high school. I went to Dallas, got a job, and moved into an apartment with 3 other girls.

Good Morning Lucy and Healthy Hearts,
This morning it was cloudy and 14º (feels like 1º) and going up to 22º and cloudy with winds NNE 10-15 mph. We have a Winter Weather Advisory from 6:00 PM tonight until 12:00 PM Thursday, with mixed precipitation of snow and ice and an accumulation of 1-2” and a light glaze of ice is possible.
Our grocery order was delivered so we have enough supplies for the next few days.
Our pastor’s friend who works on cars came and towed ours to his place to see exactly what is wrong with it. I think he will find it would be too expensive to make all the necessary.
We called the credit card company and they finally said it was OK to use the card again after we gave them a new word for their safety regulations. When we tried it wouldn’t work so there may be a 24 hour delay before it can be used.
I’m still reading The Marshland Mystery, my first Trixie Belden book, by Kathryn Kenny. For some reason I just didn’t feel much like reading again yesterday, which is very unusual for me.

67, to 73 cloudy, chance of rain and already had a shower before I got up. Gym, Silver Sneakers, today. Run by Kroger's on the way home. Good grief. Our little store announced they will be closing. I don't like large stores.
Have a great Wednesday everyone. KEEP GOING LUCY

I lived at home until I was married at 20. DH was going to Japan as a missionary and he proposed in May. We were married in July and left for Japan in August.

Hello, friends!
Jenny, my heart is aching for you! Our children are our hearts, and yours has been hurting for a long time now. I'm sending you hugs and tears, my friend!
Doris, I'm so happy your pastor is taking a hand in this situation! I hope his friend can get y'all back on the road again!
Mom is the same. I will go to visit when I can (we're iced in here). I'm keeping DH with me. He isn't supposed to drive, and when I leave him home, he tends to escape!
I went back and forth to home and away for a few years. I left for college and lived most of the time in an apartment with other young women. I got married, finished college, and went home for three months while I got ready to go to Korea. After that, I never lived in my parents' house again.
BBL if I can! ~~Mollyann

Hi! I really never lived at home after I left for college at 18. I went to summer school every year, so I could graduate in three years. I went "home" for holidays, of course, but no more. My parents had bought a house, and had a spare room that had a piano and a bed in it. That was where I slept. After I graduated from college, I married DH and we set up our home together.
It is 33Âş here with light rain. Today is dominoes, but my friend is nervous of driving, and I still have this darn cold! The headache is gone, but the drip continues. It is supposed to warm up, but we'll see. We have no place to go until DH goes to pickup the kids after school.
Doris, I'm glad you got your groceries so you are set. And you are about to get the credit card straightened out! yay! Did you have to put your new word into the computer? There are always so many hoops to jump through. Remember when things were simpler? My mother had a "running tab" at the little neighborhood grocery store, and if needed, a boy would run things over to her. Then, once a month, she'd pay the tab. Of course, the grocer was a guy she had gone to school with, and he knew the family well.
This evening, I plan chicken and noodles for the family dinner. It is a day for comfort food!
I'm still reading Lemon Meringue Pie Murder and am almost finished with it. I really like this series. Just got busy with crochet, and didn't have time to read.
Better go check on the chicken. It is stewing in the crock pot. Hope you all have a happy day! Diane

Jenny, I was so sorry to read your news this morning. You and your family are in my prayers. Doris, I hope you can get a dependable car soon (maybe an inexpensive fix for the one you have). We had a thunderstorm last night along with heavy rain and sleet. I had the first of three in home appointments. Occupational Therapy was here and did some arm and shoulder exercises and showed me how to safely vacuum. Nurse and Physical Therapist will be here later. I moved out of my parents' home when I got a teaching job at Trinity Lutheran School in West Chicago.
