Thinking of Jenny this morning. I can't imagine all she has gone through and now her daughter. How sad. Pray for Jenny.
38 when I got up. Down to 35 already. Says the high will be 41, but the wind is sure blowing. To be 20 tonight. It is cloudy but promising sun this afternoon.
Probably a PJ day. Soup in the little crock pot.
Have a great day. KEEP GOING LUCY

Good morning!
Yes, I remember the Hokey Pokey! LOL!
My phone tells me there are two birthdays today -- Molly 5612 and Betty. I don't think these ladies post on our thread anymore, but if they are reading, Happy Birthday!
We can't seem to catch a break in the weather. We had a lot of rain last night, and the temps are dropping quickly. Even MU and the other colleges are closed today.
Lucy, so sorry your temperatures are so low. I know how you hate cold weather.
Be back later to see what's happening with each of you! --Mollyann

Good Morning Lucy and Healthy Hearts,
This morning it was 6º (feels like -15º) and going up to 12º and partly cloudy with snow showers and winds NW 20-30 mph. We have a Winter Weather Advisory from 6:00 PM tonight until 7:00 PM Thursday, and overnight we had an accumulation of 1-3” of snow.
Today the girls will be in school and again MJ and I will be at home since we still don’t have a car.
I finished reading The Marshland Mystery, my first Trixie Belden book, by Kathryn Kenny, and enjoyed it. Yesterday I started reading another Trixie Belden book titled The Mystery of the Emeralds.

Molly, it is not too bad here for me. No ice or anything, just cold wind to deal with and I am not going anywhere today. How's your mom?

Lucy, I like the visual of the things starting to bloom. thanks for that. Think I am going to be talking about the snow again soon. All the weather alerts on my phone are for area flooding. But for today it is 60° and it was way too warm in here this morning. I opened the top of the storm door in the living room. Wow, fresh air in the house again.
Did read all the posts that I missed yesterday. didn't get back to computer.
The age for drinking in Pa is still 21. I don't think we had any laws about leaving home, but there were for being in school, couldn't get married without parents permission below age of 21. My parents had to sign for me as we were getting married in July and I wasn't 21 until November. My DH was okay, just turned 21. I was working at the time ('56-'59)at Sylvania where we made tubes for radios, and the early TV's . Had to be 18 to work in a plant and did just make minimum wage but started getting raises after the initial training period. That is where I met my DH. I got a promotion quickly to Quality Control which I loved but quit when DH got drafted which was 2 years after we got married. I had just had a miscarriage and had complication. I babysat from the time I was 13 for kids not my brothers!! Which was awesome and later in life when I had two babies of my own, I took care of usually 2 more. Friends of mine that wanted to go out of the home to work. I loved being an at home MOM and those were busy years of car pooling and taking care of my kids and others. If I were to do it in this day and age, at the age I was then, I would probably do an official day care of nursery. licensed and all. Back then you didn't have to be licensed. and did bring a little extra money for us.
Off to lunch and Rite Aid run with my friend that is going on vacation for 3 weeks at the end of the week, Going to miss her but glad she is getting to see her DD and 3 DGSs
My DSIL did not get much sleep yesterday due to their old dog!! So I will try to get there this afternoon, he will let me know when he gets up. Boy midnights and then not getting any rest. I could not do that at any time in my life!!!
I do remember the Hokey Pokey! Still play it at Wedding receptions around here, as well as the Electric Slide!!

Hi!
I do remember the Hokey-Pokey! What fun!
It is 21º and we have light snow. Hmm. This morning we have our Sam's order to pickup but nothing else until time to get the kids after school. I have chili planned for dinner tonight, and I think that will be good on a cold night.
Prayers continue for all of the needs and concerns and for any silent concerns of our hearts.
Have a happy day, friends. Do something fun! Diane

Back again.
Diane, I liked the thought, "silent concerns of our hearts." So many of us do have those silent needs.
Jenny, you are in my heart today! Write and tell us about your DD if it will help. I know I'd like to hear about her.
Lucy, glad you are only having cold temperatures and not icky stuff!
Doris, let us know when you find out if the car can be fixed (or not).
Cat, how many years were you in the USAF?
Mom's doctor called. He says she is definitely on the mend. She ate some breakfast, has her eyes open, and knew him when he told her his name (she hadn't seen him in years -- just knew him as a kid, I think.) He is going to talk to the nursing home doctor and ask her to prescribe an antibiotic that Mom can take on a regular basis to prevent these UTIs from happening. He thinks she will be dismissed on Saturday. Whew! What a week!
DH is doing well. He has a follow-up appointment tomorrow that should only take a few minutes. It's probably good that we have been iced in for these days. He would have been up and going if we hadn't needed to stay at home.
BBL! ~~Molly

I just tossed and turned last night. Got up several times, did read and watched TV. Short night.
Bright sun but a cold day. BBL

Well, my income tax thing is ready to mail. Filled out the online thing to get a rebate on Bearly's Advantage. Good grief things just keepa going more toward tech savvy. No mail in form this year. Nope, fill out on line and scan and upload the receipt.
Molly, I am glad to hear a good report on Mom.
Cat and Diane, I did the Hokey Pokey with my students for indoor fun.
Phyl, I remember Mama quilting way back. She did it as needed, not for a hobby.
Doris, I hope y'all get a car soon.
Connie, that wild plum is in full bloom today. I have not been out to see how many daffodils are opened. I could go look out the front bedroom window if I weren't too lazy.
