Had a good day if a quieter one yesterday. Two women were not there. One took her husband to the hospital and the other took her husband to the airport. Such is life. The food was salad, chili, soup and bread with cake and fruit salad for dessert. I had a good night of sleep to make up for the two bad ones and feel good today even if the sun is not out. Hubby is in Beirut.
CHERRY: How funny that your cat let out his big boy voice yesterday. Our cat meows softly if at all. I read somewhere that cats communicate without voice with one another - most of the time - I wonder if that is true?
BEVERLY: What kind of women's club do you belong to? Is it social? How fun to have been a member for so many years!
LYNN: I hope the retirement issues are sorted out soon and that you will have some social security income to enjoy...I did not get my quarters paid in even though I worked enough years...the years in Saudi Arabia they did NOT bay in even though it was an American School...wish they had. I did look into paying it myself but it was not allowed to do so back then. How many years have you been involved with the St. Patrick's Day parade where you live? How fun to be a part of an annual event!
PAM: I sometimes think that some of the threads I keep going really are not being used and think about stopping them but then someone will say that they used a quote to stay on program or say they have been busy and look forward to posting so...keep them going. Also look sometimes to see if anyone has LOOKED at a thread and that can make a difference, too.

Good morning. Another cold night last night. The low was -32 and my thermometer at the moment shows -24. And it's going to stay cold. It won't be until Monday that the high is above zero at 4. This has been a darn cold February.
I shoveled my walk and steps yesterday as it had snowed some during the night. It didn't take much shoveling. I think the most was what had drifted onto the steps. Today I'm staying inside. There's also a wind chill warning until noon today, and the high will be around -10. I'm sure glad the furnace runs so well on propane.
I'll just do some housekeeping things today. I may wash some clothes and change the sheets on my bed along with washing my dishes from last night. Other than that I'll read and catch up on looking at and reading the magazines that have come in the mail.
Have a nice day, beaches. Hope it is warmer where you all are.

Good morning!
Cathy, I have helped run the St Patrick's Day Parade for 21 years. This may be my last...we shall see. I hope some of the glitches have been ironed out, but not 100% sure. I am going down to file my papers next Wednesday.
Nothing else new...same old stuff.
Have a good one!

Good morning all,
We have had a night of severe storms, there were tornado warnings out all over the place. More storms predicted for tonight, then supposed to turn cooler. It is so warm here that it is sparking these storms, 75 deg when I got up this morning! Unheard of. We have even had the AC on in the car a few times. I refuse to turn it on in the house. We have been having the windows open. Had to close them last night because of the storms & it got pretty stuffy in here.
The Women's club that I belong to is associated with my church. We had to cancel our meeting last night due to the weather. I now have the cookies that I baked for the meeting left here!!!! I will put them in the freezer & keep them for the next soup kitchen day. Our Women's club do a lot of good things, we donate to local, state, national & even support a child in South America. I just love the work we do, I also love the friendships & the fun that we have. We do lots of fun things to raise money, bake sales, working the concession stand at the local county fair, holding pancake breakfasts with Santa, etc. etc. It is all a lot of fun & we do very good things with the money that we raise. We donate to the local cancer society, homeless shelters, nursing home patients & so forth.
I enjoy this thread so very much. You guys are friends, even though we have never met. Sometimes it is easier to say what you feel about something to people that you don't know rather than face to face. I sure wish more people would join us.
Waving to all, stay safe!

Chilly here but no precipitation. Fingers crossed that there will be higher temps tomorrow and sun will melt the snow. Not sure how we’ll celebrate mom’s birthday. Just getting together will be great!
Have a great evening beaches. Hope you find reasons to smile.
