TOOT! TOOOOT! CHUG, CHUG, CHUG! Here comes the Train to Thinsville down the track and into your station, so hop on board and enjoy the ride.
This morning it was 6º (feels like -15º) and going up to 12º and partly cloudy with snow showers and winds NW 20-30 mph. We have a Winter Weather Advisory from 6:00 PM tonight until 7:00 PM Thursday, and overnight we had an accumulation of 1-3” of snow.
Today the girls will be in school and again MJ and I will be at home since we still don’t have a car.
I finished reading The Marshland Mystery, my first Trixie Belden book, by Kathryn Kenny, and enjoyed it. Yesterday I started reading another Trixie Belden book titled The Mystery of the Emeralds.

Good morning Doris & ATF,
Cloudy currently and 41; the high for today will be 50.
Today I need to clean a little. My boys are coming for a sleepover on Saturday. Their parents are going into New York for the evening. I'll do the bathroom, vacuum floors and dust in the living room.
I had a good time at the senior center yesterday and I managed to crochet a lavender hat for a newborn. I brought the yarn home and maybe I will get another or 2 done by Monday.
Have a great day everyone!

Emily,
I'm glad you enjoyed your time at the senior center and crocheting a hat for a newborn. My mom loved to crochet and made beautiful things. She tried to teach me, but I never could get the hang of it.
Have fun with your boys at the sleepover Saturday. I'm sure the boys are looking forward to that.

Good morning!
It is 21º and we have light snow. Hmm. This morning we have our Sam's order to pickup but nothing else until time to get the kids after school. I have chili planned for dinner tonight, and I think that will be good on a cold night.
Doris, I hope the mechanic can get the car to at least run. Any transportation would be a good thing. Prayers continue for you all. Emily, how, big are the hats for newborns? That would be a great use for the extra yarn I have. Emergency Infant Services here might be able to use them.
Have a happy day, friends. Do something fun! Diane

Diane,
The way the weather was last night we thought school might be canceled today, but it wasn't. We do have an extreme cold warning though. A few minutes ago the sun was shining, but now it is cloudy again and still windy. Your chili sounds like a good supper tonight.
The car the mechanic is looking at is the same one that another mechanic said had so many things wrong with it that it wouldn't be worth fixing. I don't think this one will have better news for us but he wants to check it out. In the meantime we don't have any transportation and have to depend on others to take the girls to school.

Don't you have school bus service for the girls.? Guess I don't know much about the area you are in. Our bus service here is even available for the Catholic schools in our areas.
It is 60° and no rain today but snow back in forecast. Hoping to get to grocery store tomorrow. I do have a list!! A big one. I am hungry for old fashioned goulash, so the ingredients are at top of list. Need everything from the onions and green peppers to the elbow macaroni and hamburger, and canned whole tomatoes.
Went to lunch today with my friend that is going on vacation. We did Rite Aid first and got some of my Valentine's. Mostly the ones that go out of town. Hope to get to the Hallmark store this weekend or first of week. We decided on veggie pizza for our lunch and did bring home part of my side salad. Busy place for take out at lunch time but we ate in.

It really is cold today. I felt no need to linger outside this morning between the car--Y----Grocery store and home. It's so windy! But the sun is shining. Our dryer is getting lots of use this winter as it probably wouldn't dry outside. Yet cold is relative. I have a cousin that lives in Canada and they had a record low yesterday -42, I can't even imagine what that would be like!! That broke their previous record low of -41 in 1907.

Connie,
I'm glad you were able to enjoy lunch out with a friend today.
Hannah and Sarah go to Lutheran schools and there is no bus service. Rachael goes to a public school, but we are out of the district for the school bus so has to be taken there by car.
It sounds like you are having a heat wave compared to our temps. Right now we have 10º and we're almost up to the high for today.

Helen,
I think we can be happy that we don't live in Canada like your cousin. Our temps are much colder than I like and don't envy anyone living in extremely cold places.
Its good that you have a dryer for the times when things wouldn't dry outside. I agree that the clothes always smell wonderful when they can be dried outside.
