We had pizza yesterday to "celebrate" my birthday. I kind of wanted to go to Byblos but realized hubby wanted to stay closer to home AND that HE preferred pizza to other options. I now wonder why, on my birthday, I went where I thought HE wanted to go? Maybe it is a wife/mom/oldest sibling thing? Whatever. The pizza was good after over a month without any and we shopped afterward and I bought a few groceries for the house. I finished the laundry and will put it away today. Yesterday Mounah wanted to jump the old car and in the process managed to jam the new car's hood up a bit since the rod that supports the hood when it is open fell off the catch thingy and lodged itself somewhere inside under the hood. Mounah drove it to the mechanic - he could not get it out - then to the blacksmith who cut the rod, opened the hood, took out the lodged piece and soldered the pieces of the rod together. This morning he is working on the old car...trying to get it to start with mechanics he brought here to work. I am going to write some book reviews in a bit and think perhaps hummus and cabbage salad or something with hummus will be on the menu for lunch today.
CHERRY: You made me smile when you said, at the end of the list of how you stay warm outside, that you avoid going out as much as possible Have fun with your son!
BEVERLY: I have long posts vanish sometimes (happened yesterday) and I HATE it. Thank you for the birthday wishes!
LYNN: Stay safe and warm if it snows. Hope you get the papers in and the "release/retirement" date set so you can start the countdown! Thank you for the birthday wishes.
PAM: I am MUCH warmer now that the fleece pajamas and robe are washed and dry and I am wearing them! Funny how the pajamas are warmer than my real clothes Thank you for the birthday wishes!

Well, the snow is starting momentarily and I am snug at home. I got home last night at 9:45, so I am a bit tired any way. We did make reservations to go to Newport this weekend, so I have that to look forward to after I file my papers on Wednesday.
I think I'll make a pot of minestrone or bean soup. I have all I need for either.
Cathy, I do the same thing as you...if hubs wanted to get a certain food or such, I usually agree...even if it was my birthday. So glad you got out for lunch to celebrate. I hope the car gets fixed. My hubs alarm keeps going off, so his is in the shop.
Have a great day, my friends!!

Good morning. My son and I didn't do much yesterday. I didn't have much of a to-do list for him. He did climb up on the roof and clear the sewer vent as it had gathered enough frost/ice so the sewer gas couldn't escape properly. It is fine now. Sometimes the more extreme freezing temperatures causes that to happen. Other than that we caught up on some of the TV shows I had recorded.
This afternoon I have a dental appointment. One of the fillings had fallen out of a tooth. It is supposed to be sunny today. Not very warm, though, but not enough wind to blow the snow around that we got yesterday.
Have a nice day, beaches.

Good morning all,
The heavy rains have passed again & from my vantage point, I don't think it was enough to cause much more flooding. The streams & rivers are out of their banks already. The weather is supposed to clear today & be cooler.
Lynn, sounds like a great day to stay home with a nice pot of soup simmering on the stove. Just think, next winter, you won't have to get out at all!!
Great day all!

Tracey and I dropped our dog off this morning at the vet. Sheβs having minor surgery, then we came by and took mom out for lunch. Now weβre relaxing until the vet calls and says Alice is ready to head home. Have a great afternoon and keep smiling beaches.
