This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning and Happy Saturday!
We had light rain off and on yesterday afternoon and evening, so hopefully the trail isn't too muddy or slippery for us to do the whole hike today. Either way, we're giving it a try.
I don't really have any news to share this morning, but will be back later to report on the hike and whatever else pops up. After today we're supposed to have a full week of rain ahead of us. UGH. Not fun. I'll probably try to do the weekly grocery shop either today or tomorrow instead of waiting until Tuesday, which is what I've mostly been doing. Tues and Wed are supposed to be very heavy rain days. They're already talking about the possibilities of flooding Tues and Wed. Another reason living up to is a good thing. Ha!
I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Good morning Lora and ATF. Ugh, you've had so much of the rainy, gloomy stuff this winter, Lora! Hope you get your hike in. I have 6 pairs of those hiking tights, I think, so won't need any more for a good long while. I'll be happy to wear them on the weekends even if I'm not hiking once the weather warms up a bit. They are so comfortable. I'm going to do a little grocery shopping myself today, mostly for the brunch tomorrow but I have to stop at the bagel store for bagels for DD and DGD. I'll go out soon - they're likely to sleep late (unless I wake them up in my small house) since neither of them are morning people plus there's a 2 hour time difference.
It was wonderful having everyone together yesterday. I spent most of the day in the city helping DS with the DGKS until he had to leave to pick DD up at the airport. Traffic was awful, Robin, I think because it's always bad plus it's a 3 day weekend and DD's flight arrived during rush hour. It took them an hour to drive 13 miles from the airport to DS's home. But we all had dinner together and the kids played really well, seemed to enjoy each other. Today we are going to do local activities, most likely the children's museum and maybe a crafts supply place later to get some things to do an art project. Otherwise, we'll be home. I am so overjoyed to have them here, am kind of bursting with happiness. Trying not to feel sad already that it's for such a short visit. I guess what we lack in frequency we have to make up for in intensity.
Am on my second cup of coffee now, trying to be quiet. Might do a meditation and then will head out for a couple of quick errands. Looks like a sunny day out and I think temps will be in the 40's. I can live with that.
Enjoy the weekend, all.

Andi - so glad to hear that DD and DGD are snugly ensconced at your place. It sounds like yesterday was fantastic. Your joy with having so much family definitely comes through here. I'm about to get my 2nd cup as well. The sky is getting lighter, although I'm not sure we'll have much in the way of sunshine today. I think mostly cloudy is the weather recipe for the day. Oh well, if we can hike, I'll gladly take that. Ha.

Good morning everyone
We are going to head to breakfast and then I'll be off to NC.
They did a dialysis on my DS yesterday to try and jump start her kidneys. They are supposed to do another one today.
DH and I had a great time at the concert last night
Lora enjoy your hike.
Andi enjoy your time with DD and DGD.

Good Morning - I decided to sleep in a little (had a coughing spell last nigh)--- awakened with a headache, but I feel fine now. I was going to go to a gym class, but missed that... I may just go ride the bike or just chill today. DH is working on scheduling a hotel room, and flights to visit DD in Boston for Easter weekend.
Lora - sure HOPE there is no slipping and sliding on your hike! It is raining here too, but they are calling for possible light snow around 1:00 this afternoon...otherwise, rain, snow, mix, whatever for the next few days also.
Andi - sounds like you are having a great time - so happy for you. I almost cried at your "bursting with happiness" comment. I bet it is wonderful seeing all the grands playing...have fun at the Children's Museum or whatever you decide to do!
Jana - the pic on FB was wonderful...so glad you guys had a great time. Did the dialysis work? Have a safe trip - we are waiting to hear good news.

Oh my goodness! Our hike was wonderful! The trail was squishy with all the rain we've had, but since both of us remained upright and nobody slipped and landed on their @$$ in the mud, we're calling it a complete success. We did a total of 3.5 miles (according to my fitbit). It was a little on the challenging side at times, the uphill portion was pretty intense at times, and those areas were just as challenging on the return (downhill) trip. The good part about all the rain, it that the stream at the beginning and the waterfall were flowing beautifully. I've got some pics and a waterfall video on FB if anyone is interested in taking a peek.
Also....Drumroll please.......our ATL house is now live on the market. It's already seeing hits on Zillow, and some of the other home real estate sites. Fingers crossed. Another house diagonally across the street also went live on the market Thursday. And there is one past ours that is also for sale. Having all 3 for sale, and also all 3 are empty should increase traffic on all of the houses. And if somebody is looking at one of the others, it won't be a big deal to view ours while they're on the street.

Lora, I saw the pics of that park, it looks beautiful. Sorry for all the rain you have been having though. I hate to do food shopping in the rain. Getting it all out to the car is so annoying when everything gets wet.
Andi, I can just imagine them creeping along all the way from the airport to DS's place. An hour isn't even that terrible! That is one of the reasons why living on Long Island is bad, we have to cross a bridge no matter where we go.
Just as an aside, I am sure you have all heard about the Amazon thing. When you hear Long Island City, are you thinking that is where I live? Just as an FYI, it's not. It is an area of Queens, which is one of the boroughs of NYC. Long Island, although technically includes 2 NYC boroughs, is really only considered the 2 counties that are not the city ones. So, about 5 miles west of me, and then east to the Hamptons, Montauk & Orient Point on the 2 forks.
Jana, I am hoping that the dialysis helps out Mary. I am sure you would all love to hear that. Glad you enjoyed the concert. You really needed that break.
Susie, nice to be visiting your DD for Easter. Because it is a late Easter this year, the weather should be more spring-like. Where in Boston does she live?
We are going out for dinner with my DBIL. He has been working in NY for the past few weeks, then they are sending him back to Boston. He was working in NY, then when his SO decided to retire and buy a condo in FL, he got a transfer to FL. A few weeks after he started down there, the company lost their contract, and they sent him back to NY. This was about 2 years ago. He is a supervisor for a company that does gas and electric line locating when road crews are working. He's been in Boston now because they are supposed to have some kind of strike.

Made it to NC. DS is having a good day today. She is alert. She still has moments of confusion but nothing like she was before.
Lora loved the pictures of your hike congratulations on having your house on the market 😊 how are you feeling lately? You had mentioned feeling blue a little while back.
Robin not sure what's going on with the Amazon thing I'll have to go and look.
Andi hope your day with DD and DGD was great
Susie sorry about the coughing fit.
DH called and the new puppy is settling in well tonight should be fun for him. Lol

Lora - yeah for the hike (and no falls).
Robin - YDD bought a condo-type house (she owns the 2nd floor and someone else owns the 1st floor) in Melrose about 6 months ago. She lived at 101 Beacon Street in Boston for the first year she was there.
Jana -Yeah for Mary's good day...hoping for improvements EVERY day.
DH and I went to a cinema-bistro with friends tonight. It was the first time DH had been to one. It was fun and something different to do. Tomorrow I have a "sales party" (you know like Tupperware, etc) at 2:00 and then "Hand and Foot" (card social) at 6:00 = both in my neighborhood.. I did get to the gym to ride the bike and read, so it was a productive, but relaxing day.
Night all...

Hi again!
Sorry I missed replying yesterday. My life can get a little hectic on my days off. A little about me, as requested by Robin: I'm 34, work the night shift as a 911 dispatcher, a volunteer firefighter/EMT on my off days, I tend to babble, I'm single with two fur-babies, I love to kayak, and my little brother is currently staying with me. I don't tend to do anything fun and exciting, so I'm hoping to change that. I wanna get out on the river more often this year. Maybe go out on some hikes and more bike rides. Just generally be more active on my down time. Hopefully the weather agrees with me. Like that'll happen. Ha!
Lora - That's awesome that your hike went well! It does kinda suck that it's been rainy there, but I'm sure the smells were amazing. Nothing beats that rain fresh smell when you're outside. I'm kind of a sporadic poster in that I don't get online every day. Usually only on the nights I'm working. I'm hoping to keep up with everyone as much as possible though.
Andi - I'm actually quite the opposite of an early riser. I was still awake when I was posting. I work nights and don't usually go to bed until around 0600-0700. Early for me would be noon. ^_^ I hope that your visit goes well and that you guys are extremely intense with your time together. It can be rough not being able to see someone whenever you want.
Jana - I hope I get to post here often as well. :-} So far what I've seen I really like. You guys seem very supportive of each other and I think that's what I need to help keep me on track. I also really like your purple hair. I wish I could have kept mine purple, but unfortunately we have a uniform policy at work and "No Unnatural Hair Color" is in there. Punks. I don't know what DS means (context clues are telling me 'Dear Sister'?) but I hope the dialysis works the way they want it to.
I want to thank everyone for the welcomes and hopefully I'll have the chance to keep up with everyone. I'm really looking forward to getting to know you guys.
