WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Good morning. After a solid day, I woke up to DS19 yelling just after falling asleep. For some reason, I got up and had two big bowls of Honeycomb cereal. Stupid. Iโll write my food goals for today in my journal so Iโm more accountable.
Nancy, stuff happens, doesnโt it? Every day is another chance to do well, in more ways than one. He is not open to a tutor, Iโve suggested it several times. Heโs come a long way from where he was a year ago, so I try to stay mindful of that.
Lori, the taco casserole would work well in a pita. I was kind of glad he ate the lavash bread. Now I donโt have to figure out ways to make it taste better ๐

Good Morning!
Tonight was going to be a birthday celebration for coworker but do to Snow and freezing rain expected later today and tonight it's postponed until next Wednesday. Nice to have an unexpected free night! Tomorrow night, going to DSIL to finalize taxes. I'll be bringing Chinese...looking forward to it!
Nancy, Wonderful to see the quick turnaround!! Looks like the snow is coming your way also... Jan, Honeycomb...wow, that brings back childhood memories...I like my crunch...so the lavish in the air fryer worked well but I do like the pita pockets much better! I love what you said to Nancy "Every day is another chance to do well, in more ways than one"...copying that...Awesome!!
Last night, I made salmon and served over cauliflower rice and steamed spinach with 1/4 cup lobster bisque soup(3 sp) as sauce - so good!! Tonight is rotisserie chicken breast with mashed cauliflower, stuffing muffin (from Thanksgiving) heinz gravy and roasted green beans - looking forward to it!!
Hope everyone has a good day! Lori

Made it to line dancing but we quit halfway thru when the snow started coming down gangbusters. Both the aide and the cleaning lady showed up. What troopers. We are so lucky!
Jan - I was surprised he doesn't want a tutor. I'd think he'd be glad for the company and the support. Ours is not to reason why <g>. If you went to last week's meeting, you'd be removing "stupid" from your vocabulary. How about "more than I needed which will serve as a reminder next time". Capiche??
Lori - Love those unexpected free nights. Enjoy! Both your meals are right up my alley. Simple, healthy and delicious. You're lucky that DH goes along. Mine gets mashed potatoes or harvard beets when I have veggie rice or corn on the cob. I join him with the mashed potatoes when points and calories allow. I actually love the harvard beets but they are terribly pointy. We both have the same green vegetable and whatever meat or fish.
