WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Good morning. I’m hoping I’m not as irritable as I was yesterday afternoon and evening. I’m pretty sure it’s PMS. DH is lucky I didn’t take his head off just for existing. My eating took a bit of a detour but I managed to get myself back on track.
I think I’ll make some more of the taco casserole. There’s one serving left. Jackson was home yesterday and apparently he likes it. Yay! I’ll gladly make more if he’s eating something that’s loaded with veggies.
Nancy, nah.....I still say it was stupid for me to get up and eat cereal :-) I’m glad you ended class early when the snow started. It seems to me that they’re not pretreating the roads with salt this year, and the plows aren’t out in full force. We got maybe an inch or two yesterday morning and the drive in to work was slow going. You have a big weekend ahead. You must be excited!

Lori, your dinner sounded delicious! Stuffing is always a treat. Enjoy your Chinese food and taxes. I’ve yet to start mine. My energy is going into the fitness challenge at work and helping DS right now.
Just asked Jack if he liked the casserole. He’s not the one who ate it. Hmmmmm.....
Kathy, is everything ok?
Cindy, I miss you!

Good Morning!
Work actually let us go home yesterday around 1:00. It was such a treat (that very rarely happens). So I was able to get my strength training in and reach my 10,000 steps plus make a nice salad to go with dinner.
Nancy, I was surprised to see that Harvest beets has a points value? Regular beets are 0, do they have added sugar? DH doesn't always eat the same meals as I do. This week he had London Broil and Pasta while I had my Salmon and chicken. It all depends on what I make him for dinner, whether I eat the same or make different for myself. It works for us!
Jan, Taco casserole...what's not to like - sounds delicious to me LOL!! When I make a low point meal and I know DH will like it, I have to hide my portion otherwise it disappears....
Hope everyone has a good day!

C39. D12!!!! OP. Tracking. Exercising. Doing just fine. I went over my points by about 4 points in the last two days, but that is FINE. I had AP and weeklies that I could put towards those points. AND I did not do the "All or Nothing" thinking. I.e. if I don't get my blue dot :-( by 2 points, I may as well go over by 20 points and make it worth it.
I so so so want to make it to Cycle 40. I really want to make it to March 3 and C40. D1.
Nancy- DARN - you were on D21 and went back to D1. That is so hard. You have been losing weight and now you are back on the beam. Just a reminder to all of us that this is progress and not perfection!!
Have to run - sick kid at home....

Knock down, drag out fight with DS19. I’m heart broken. No schoolwork is getting done, even though I’ve carved out time to work with him for the third time this week. I’m eating my lunch of roasted cauliflower soup and Quest protein chips, then going back in to work.
Kathy, I know exactly the thinking behind “well I didn’t get a blue dot so I might as well make it worth it”. Good for you not giving in to that thinking. Sometimes I think the blue dots backfire.
Lori, how great that you got to go home early. Hahaha, I have to hide food too.
