Thanks for the early start, Chele. Are you still on Singapore time? Does Iggy return this weekend? Is that supposed to be his last travel for this company? When is his F2F interview? How's your weather today? It looked on the weather map that if you aren't getting snow, it's on the way. We are way ahead on rain this year and I was wondering how you are doing on precipitation because it seems like you have had a lot so far.
Becky, I hope your weather is good enough for a walk outdoors. Would Scooter walk with you if you invited her? Redness on the right foot isn't as pronounced today but I think part of that may be that there is no bandage or shoe to cause irritation.
Did you get out early or at least on time yesterday, Liz? Have you heard from DS et. al? Given what they flew out in, I'm sure it was a whole different world when they landed in Anguilla. We used to have that when we would fly from snowy Pittsburgh to beautiful, warm Austin after Christmases with my family. The master gardeners kept it somewhat civil, but I found out afterward that two of the people who seemed to be arguing against the project are on the committee. Am I the only one finding that the least bit odd? Arya and I are apparently joined at the hip today, which is OK since I'm fairly immobile.
Linda, I don't think I have seen a woodpecker like that around here. Is it something regional? If we have them here, they must blend in with the rest of the woods. We do hear a lot of tap, tap, tapping in our woods and we have a few red-headed woodpeckers but probably have others as well. I saw on the a.m. news about all the snow in Flagstaff and Payson. I hope your plants survive the hard freeze and you don't see any snow flakes. I will have to email my dear friend in Vegas because I saw that they have once again gotten snow. It's good that you have some flexibility on your museum days, with everything seeming to bunch up for you on Wednesdays.
This time next week will be your last work day, Kathy. Are you making any near term plans for things you want to do that you can now do during the week, beyond the usual weekly stuff like groceries? Do you think this may change your DS/DBIL's timetable to retire? Who is older, you or DS?
I slept a bit better last night than the first night after my previous surgery. I didn't even try to sleep between the sheets, but just slept on top of the bedspread with a blanket over me. I did find a couple of positions that were reasonably comfortable but I never got into a deep sleep. Foot doesn't feel great, but the biggest problem is constipation, which basically never happens to me. But, between the anesthesia and my diet and fluid intake being so drastically changed this week with all the meetings on Monday, the tooth issue, and then having to be NPO after Midnight before surgery, my system is seriously messed up. I have beans and rice on the menu for lunch and will probably try a mug of Smooth Move tea as well this afternoon. I have the minutes from Monday's meetings done and am about to sit back and watch The Price Is Right. That's about the only show I watch on a daily basis, perhaps more out of habit at this point, but I do like to play along. I'll watch a few episodes from my Doctor Who DVD this afternoon. Our weather is crap again today, so Arya has no desire to go out in the rain. Dale is showing up about once an hour to take her out, which is good because there is no way I could. As Linda predicted last week, I don't have a leg to stand on right now.

Ouch, Karen. I do hope it heals fast.
That is a regional bird, a Gila woodpecker, named afterthe river.
Saw photos of snow covered yards in Vegas....weird. Just ran outside to put weights on the plankets still on hibiscus and ficus because the wind gusts are trying toremove them and even with rain, we are heading to low 30s tomorrow morning and Sat, again. Sick if it and there will be widespread crop and landscape damage here.
It seems to have little to do with summer, when extremes go the other way with ocean warming and we have drought!
Thought I would get to Yoga at last but sniffle, blow, sneeze, and live in bathroom...hope it us a one day thing. I have hair appt at two postponed untiltoday because she was sick. moved it up to 12:30. Then I am tucking myself in with Vicks! When I was younger, mom used to give me a little blackberry brandy.
I think dh will be eating delivered pizza tonight.

I am still on Singapore time, Karen. I woke up at 3:30 this morning. Iggy returns Sunday around 9 pm. Interview is the 28th. It is partly sunny today and tomorrow is supposed to be sunny, but Saturday we are expecting more rain. So far this month we are +4.5 inches over average. I am glad the redness is less because that means you are taking it easy. Sorry to hear you are backed up. With all that you have gone through, I am not surprised. I hope the tea helps. Enjoy your Dr Who episodes and the Price is Right. If I watch a game show, it is usually Letās Make a Deal but only if Iggy is around. He makes it more fun.
Linda, you are not that much warmer than we are today. Ihope your plants and trees donāt get too unhappy. I am sure the birds and animals are wondering what happened. Sounds like a good idea to move something off the Wednesday schedule.
Becky, our schools were delayed by 2 hours yesterday but not closed. I just read an article that said Ohioans arenāt that great at driving in the rain and snow. Hope you got your walk in yesterday.
Liz, good to hear from you. I hope you were able to leave early yesterday. Heard from the family yet? Are they home? I hope the rain washed the snow away and you didnāt have a bad commute this morning.
Kathy, they did the same thing at Iggyās company on the 5 year gift. I guess no one stays at a company that long any more. It sure seems that loyalty is undervalued.
I got up and did a spring clean upstairs so I skipped my workout. The back can only take so much. I am chopping some veggies amd cooking some red lentil pasta for a pasta primavera. Then I am going to plop. Have a good Wednesday everyone.

Chele, thanks for the very early start. I got a nice crystal glassware set and pitcher for my 10th anniversary and some of those 15th year gifts were pretty nice. They discontinued them just before I got to 15 and I got the lovely block of lucite instead. Their reason for discontinuing them was cost. They couldn't spend $100 or so on employees having an anniversary, but the executive pay has gone up by many millions. How did the primavera come out? I haven't watched Let's Make a Deal in a long time, but I could see how it would be more fun with Iggy. I turned my company equipment in today at my employer's place. I haven't been there in a long time and it was a bit shocking to see that they've redone the office area with those cubes with the short walls where you can see everyone's heads over the walls. They are really small too. Karen, DS is 3 years younger than me and her DH is 3 months older than me. They both would like to retire now, but will probably wait it out for DN to finish school. He's been applying to grad school, so that will be another year or two at least. I haven't made any big plans yet, but do want to get in more regular workouts and eat healthier. My house is also in need of some serious decluttering and some minor repairs, so that will be on my to do list. I think a bit of a break is in order first though and my birthday is coming up in March. We want to do a trip in the spring, but haven't decided where yet. Hope the tea helps. That's good that you were able to sleep. Did you watch any Doctor Who? #11 grew on me after I got used to him. Take it easy and I'm sure you'll be back to your active self in no time. Linda, cute cartoon. Hope you're feeling better. Waving to Liz and Becky.

Kathy, I got a Waterford bowl for my 10th and a Waterford vase for my 15th. The choices were more limited for my 20th, so I picked out a nice watch. I got a ādonāt let the door hit you in the arseā when I retired. šCongratulations on turning in the equipment. Oh, wow, not only a cube farm but the kind where you can hear each other's conversations so you have to whisper. I bet the first thing on the agenda is sleeping in on the first Monday you are retired.

Thanks for the early start Chele.
Karen It's a little cool and dreary to walk outside. No rain yet but it's 55 and it's been cloudy all day.I have done one round on the recumbent bike and will probably do another one later.Scooter would more than likely run and she would eventually come back home I'm sure but she isn't calm enough to walk alongside me.She was laying on her chair this morning when we got ready to leave and I went over and talked to her then got out the gate.I told Kenneth try not taking her leash off her to see what she would do and she never tried to get out.I guess she knows we are going somewhere when her leash is off and she would rather keep it on.Now she is in the house sleeping on her chair in the kitchen. She hasn't slept with me for 2 nights since it has been warmer but I think it will be cooler tonight so I will see what happens. The cats decided since she wasn't sleeping with me they would take her place.LOL.I hope the beans help your constipation. It sounds like you need more fiber.Take care of both feet since you don't have one to stand on one now.I didn't even know The Price Is Right was still on.
Linda That is cold for you.I don't think we are expecting any temps in the 30's this week.Saturday we may get up to 72.I hope you feel better soon.
Chele I was spoiled with our sun yesterday.I don't think we will see it again until Sunday.I did walk yesterday but I won't get one today.I'm glad Iggy will be home Sunday.I was sweeping the kitchen and bath earlier and my back said stop so I did.We had to empty trash and both litter boxes today so that was enough.
Kathy That sounds about right on discontinuing gifts but executive salaries going up.I think a break would be a great first step after retiring.

In teaching you never see any gifts...might have had a tiny lapel pin in my mailbox at year 20. On teacher appreciation day , not a peep since 1970, and words are not expensive. Mostly discourage student gifts after elementary as you get accused of being bribed for grades! I have a couple appreciation bookmarks I still use from graduating seniors after exams were over. I kept a lot of thank you cards that came in summer.
Got out to hair appt. anyway. It was a mess three steps outside the salon, but a good cut flops back right. Bought cinnemon buns and had that and tea today...maybe chicken soup later. Bob had a small pizza delivered. Micki is thrilled.
Rain, rain, more rain, wind, big wind, power outages in Phoenix, pick up truck driver at grocery store complaining about wind pushing the truck on the freeway. 20 degrees under norm before the wind..yikes. we are not used to it, and yard hates it. Been a while since my face felt that cold and umbrella almost blew inside out.
It will rain a lot all night and into tomorrow. The yard is soaked. I hope it lets up after ten when i see the dr, to get gel shots started again for the right knee.
Norhern and eastern AZ will get two feet of snow on top of the recent storm. Vegas has first measurable snow in ten years...a fair amount.
