Rumour has it that an announcement will be made next week about “Fast Start”. Don’t know if this is a weekly meal plan similar to what came out years ago (promising 5kg in 6 weeks)....OR....and this is strictly my own speculation that it may have something to do with Intermittent Fasting? ? Jenny Craig released a IF type program here a few months back which got me wondering. Before I left WW they were really pushing the slow and steady weight loss route if you’re there for the weight loss plan at all....so if it is a meal plan offering faster results, then it contradicts what they’ve been saying for the past 6 months. Anyways, next week is ‘Open Week’ to the public and WW are taking the opportunity to make the announcement....whatever it is. WW Wins/Rewards program still hasn’t been released.

it may have something to do with Intermittent Fasting? ? Jenny Craig released a IF type program here a few months back which got me wondering. As a frequent flyer with Jenny Craig I can tell you that their IF program is somewhat of a joke. It consists of a 12 hour "nourish" period and a 12 hour "rejuvenation" period. So basically you eat like most people normally eat with the exception of cutting out a late evening snack. Pure gimmickry. Plus they now insist that you do absolutely NO meals on your own until you reach your goal weight, requiring you to buy all meals, snacks, shakes, bars, etc from them. Their FB page is tightly censored as is their "community" page on their website but once in a while complaints get through and there are a lot of disgruntled JC clients. IMHO the food is awful now---think the very cheapest "lean" frozen meals available at your grocery store. Yes, people lose weight on it, as you would on any calorie- and portion-controlled regimen. JC is overpriced, extremely restrictive, and always ready to toss the next gimmick out to the crowd. BTW, be on the lookout for their next Biggest and Bestest Thing---DNA testing. There are offering it in a limited market and your food will supposedly be tailored to your DNA. Uh-huh. It will be interesting to see what new gimmick innovation WW brings to the table.

Frankly it is about dang time they bring back this if it is like the "quick-starts" of the past and certainly a step in the right direction. They have left new members floundering, looking for answers everywhere, 24/7 is a joke and the WW FB groups are just a plethora of misinformation. I think the last time we saw this (if it is menu guidance) was "Simple Start" with the PP program. Could it be WW is tired of its' stock plummeting and members fleeing in droves and is actually going to go back to >What Works<? We can only hope they have come to their senses. Thanks for the info chook!

Good to see you chook. We had "Open Week" about a month ago. From reports I heard it was a non-starter. In my area, staff had to push products like a little pull-string food chopper, and many reported the coaches touted earning FitPoints as a benefit of using the hand-powered device. But there was nothing like "Fast Start" announced here. DebDoesWW, I immediately thought of SimpleStart, too. I remember that we all tried it and it worked, but wasn't sustainable for most of us beyond the two weeks it covered because it was so restricted. However, for those who wanted to continue, there was Simply Filling to transition to—and that is now gone. Should be interest to see what this offering looks like. As for taking action against plummeting stock prices (AKA as "Winfrey Wipeout"), offering what loyal customers want is what should have been driving this companies policies and plans all along. I still remember someone mentioning taking a survey that asked if as a former member she'd come back if older plans were offered as an option. Hope springs eternal on that one. At least we will have some entertainment for a few weeks.

I received a survey from an independent firm asking about WW.After complaining about the freestyle plan WW didn't accept my survey but they are supposedly looking into the online only subscriptions and will get back to me.I won't hold my breath.

zazzles "Winfrey Wipeout" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 We should totally have a WW acronym contest here, but I am afraid we'd have to give it a R rating. 🤣

Thanks for posting, Chook.
The "quick start" programs of years gone by were popular with members for several reasons:
- Members were encouraged when they could experience a decent weight loss right from the start.
- It helped members to learn the Program by giving them a set of "training wheels" the first couple of weeks.
- For members who came in with out of control eating, limited choices helped them to regain control and develop eating discipline.
- There have always been members who would tell me (I'm a former Leader) "just tell me what to eat". Having menus to give members taught them meal planning and the GHGs.
If WW goes back to that concept, I'm all in. What sort of market research led them to the conclusion that we want studios and wellness coaches???

squid, See, Roz, you're a budding CEO and you didn't even know it. Dunno why the CEOs WW keeps hiring just don't get it.

zazzles earning Fit Points from pulling a string is the one of the most idiotic ideas to come from WW and there are so many My nutritionist has a five day fast start program but it is too restrictive for me to ever want to try it. It lowers calorie intake to about 800 a day. Our lifestyle doesn't allow for it. If I lived alone I would possibly consider it but slow and steady seems to work best.My friend who posted about her great loss after joining WW has not posted since. I don't want to ask how's it going. Pounds just don't fall off by magic.

I still have my Simple Start booklet, and occasionally I go back to it when I need to do a serious re-group, like when I come back from a cruise. Roz

I just question if a “fast start” is even possible with Freestyle.
Oh, that reminds me....Freestyle was known as ‘Your Way +’ here, and ‘Flex’ in the UK (I think)....but it has suddenly changed to Freestyle without so much as a peep. My guess is it makes it easier to recycle the advertising and promotional material between countries.

A freestyle fast start would be IMO limiting your free foods to a specific number.
