WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C95D5, 21 points and 1180 calories + isolated Chinese meal, 8 water, K8:45-7
Just collateral exercise today (Friday). I may be MIA until Monday night. I’ll track whatever I eat at home and will isolate meals out. I have every intention of enjoying myself without overdoing it. I’ll annotate whatever I eat out, without worrying about points or calories, just to remain accountable. For the Chinese meal I had a half order of pork and bean sprouts (no rice) with ½ egg roll.
Jan – Really sorry about run in with Nick but it sounds as if things have been straightened out. Matrices?? Ooy!! Good luck.
Lori – It’s sweet and sour Harvard beets – 3 pts for 1/3 cup, 9 gm sugar. I am so impressed with your discipline these days.
Kathy – Yep – progress not perfection. Our leader stresses that a lot, and I think I’m starting to get the hang of it, but it definitely remains a work in progress. D12 is awesome!! More than half way home. Use me as an educational tool, ie what NOT to do <g>. When you don’t show up I worry that you’re off the beam, so this post was a welcome surprise.

Good morning. We have wrestling sectionals today. It will probably be his last day of wrestling, though you never know. He needs to be in the top four to move on to districts. Eating was great yesterday, with th exception of some unplanned sugar last night. Today will be a long day and I’ll MTBC. I’ve packed tuna, triscuits, and fruit for lunch, but we may go out if there’s time.
We finished the first semester in his math yesterday, and we have five assignments left in semester two. Matrices were the least of my problems. Periodic tiling, geometric progression, scatter plots, linear regression, permutations.... Oh my gosh. I ended up working on my own just so I could really think things through without him distracting me. The second semester is much easier for me to explain to him. It’s much more practical, insurance premiums, payroll, etc.
Nancy, have the best weekend!
Lori, your fading step count sounds like my resolve to eat well. It diminishes as the week goes on. At least you’re still getting your strength and Pilates in!

Jan - How times have changed since I or even my kids were in high school. Periodic tiling, geometric progression, scatter plots, linear regression, permutations." You might as well be speaking a foreign language. Good luck at the wrestling mete. It would be so awesome if he got to districts. Anything's possible.
Lori - I got the Joseph's pita bread. Can you tell me what you do to make it crispy and also some of the ways you use it - the simple ones. Thanks.

Nancy- hope you will a fabulous celebratory weekend!
Jan- yikes on the math. I signed one of my boys for IXL for geometry. It helped him and me learn it. Lol. You're a good mom in making the time to help. It's up to him to do his part. So hard!!
Lori - great idea with the mug cake! And I bet other people didn't even notice or care that you brought your own. I used to use that as an excuse to eat - other people expect me to.

Hi Everyone!
Nancy, Enjoy every minute of this Special weekend!! Can’t wait to hear about it on Monday... The pita, to make pizza - I spritz with oil spray, put in basket, air fry on 400 - when brown, flip and brown other side - watch it, cooks quickly. I then top with sauce and any pizza toppings you like (light mozzarella, turkey pepperoni, veggies...etc) back in air fryer just till cheese melts. Pita pockets, cut in half - put Kringled foil to middle to hold open, spritz and air fry each side - fill with anything you like. This morning I had it stuffed with scrambled egg and cheese. I have smeared with laughing cow cheese and sliced pear - chocolate hummus with strawberries and banana...anything will work. I just really enjoy the crunch!! Jan, Wishing good luck at wrestling today!! That math is so over my head...practical math is more my speed.... Kathy, Great week and wonderful WI!! The mug cake worked very well. Some asked what I was having so I told them it was my light version and they all thought it was a Great idea! Some even wanted the recipe....
Have a great day everyone!!
