Yesterday was draining. We finally got the cat to the veterinarian and then they had trouble finding a vein. Finally gave her a shot to sedate her (though her energy level was minimal) and then the IV and meds to put her to sleep. Hubby buried her in the garden and I bought a few things we needed but forgot the credits for the phone so had to go back out again. Last night the other cat was happy for my lap but this morning seems leery of coming near. Wonder if she thinks she might disappear, too? Today I need to start cleaning big time to get things ready for my daughter's visit. Lots to do. Hope her flights will not be cancelled and she will make it safely.
Lynn: I was surprised - asked how old our cat was and the answer was 14 to 17...not sure if that was because she had become so emaciated or??? We had her for 8 years. The other cat, tortoiseshell, came in the car at the same time to live with us and though showing some signs of age is still sprightly - though she seems leery of me this morning. Wonder if she thinks I will make her disappear, too? Hope you were plowed out and are able to get around after being snowed in!
Cherry: You had a productive day! I hope your drive to town went smoothly and you made it home safely. Do you always go alone or do you go with a friend sometimes?
Pam & Beverly: Hope you are enjoying the weekend!

The drive to town was good, the roads were clear, there were no clouds in the sky, but it was cold. I'm not sure just how cold, but I know it was below zero. No wind to speak of either. Our low here last night was -29. At the moment it is -9 with an 8 mph wind which makes the wind chill -27. Less than a mile up the road is a little weather station and I can log into their web site which gives me all that information. It is supposed to warm up and be in the upper 20s tomorrow through next Friday.
I usually go alone to town. I stopped at one store to get some lard for my last batch of soap and they didn't have any left. I wasn't about to drive out to Walmart so I'm going to revise my recipe and use cocoa butter and shea butter to replace the lard.
This evening my son will be coming, so I'm going to figure out something for supper, then we'll watch some recorded TV shows. I'm thinking chili for supper. Someone mentioned it in another thread and it sounds like a good thing for a cold evening. At least it is supposed to be above zero today, like maybe 13.
Have a good day, beaches.

Cathy, so sorry about your kitty. We get so attached to them. Cherry, Your area sounds sooooo cold. Guess you just get used to it? Here, in middle TN, we had 72 deg. yesterday afternoon, then it rained & turned really cold overnite. Got a skim of ice & 20 deg today!! That is our weather for you, they say that if you don't like the weather in TN, just wait around a few minutes & it will change. LOL very true. Family cookie baking day today, I had to sample a few cookies, thank goodness it's only once a year. Great evening all.

Sis drove to brother's house for brunch, so no snow problems. Wonderful food and conversation. Temps heating up to 40's tomorrow so driving and won't be a problem. I have a plan for finishing up prep of house and gifts. Definitely smiling.
