This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning Lora and ATF. I'm feeling down this morning. Am still not well, have no energy, feel like I'll never be well again... Ugh. I canceled yoga and am not going to my Bright Line group. The rain has stopped here but we're supposed to have fierce winds. Hopefully we don't lose power, always a concern.
I'll come back later and be more cheerful. Have a great day, all.

Good morning,
Well after some righteous storms over night, We Have SUNSHINE. Bright blue skies, a flaming orb.....and ridiculous gusting wind (always something, right?). But the flooding in the area was getting pretty serious, so glad that we'll now have a few days of sun to help things start to dry up a little.
Lily and I slept until 7:30...wow! IDK about her, but I was awake off and on all night with the storming. Well, I'm off to do household things. Laundry, it's dog food making day again. just stuff like that. Sadly, DH is WFH today, so we may not get out to enjoy the sun. Oh well, that's just the way it goes sometimes.
Hoping for a good day for all. I'll BBL.

Andi, I hope you feel better soon. It seems like a lot of people are getting sick. The rain seems like it is really tapering off here, but it is warm. I didn't hear about high winds, so will have to check on that.
Lora, haven't had a chance to congratulate you on having such a quick sale of your home. That's so great. What a load off I am sure. I hope your area isn't one of the ones that is flooding.
We had a very enjoyable dinner out with friends last night. Today I am meeting a friend at our local art museum at noon. I will do some food shopping afterwards, as there is a Stop and Shop right near the museum. I am not as familiar with the store, so will have to write up a list so I don't forget anything.

Aww Andi, I'm sorry you're still feeling so cruddy. I'm totally amazed that we haven't lost power (knocking on wood). With all the rain, the ground is just way too soft and spongy, and then with these crazy wind gusts - this is the time when trees start coming down and taking power lines with them. So far, so good though. Get some rest today and maybe fire up the light box, since it's likely you won't be getting out. It can't hurt, right? Anyway, be kind to yourself today, eat foods that will nourish your body and in doing so will nourish your spirit as well. Hang in there.

Robin - thanks! Having a home on the market for less than a week before going under contract is not totally unusual in that particular neighborhood. The subdivision itself is kind of unique to that part of town and things tend to move quickly. My immediate area here is not flooding, but everything down the mountain from us is. We had to cross the lake and the river to grocery shop yesterday, and both were very high and very rough. There are several roads closed between here and DHs office because they are under water, luckily there are plenty of alternate routes. We are pretty much surrounded by large streams, Lake Guntersville (which is huge) and the Tennessee river....so water, water everywhere.

Good Morning.... I went to a Pilates class this morning....haven't done one of those for years...this one used a barbell, hand weights, a stretch ring, and a 1=2 lb squishy ball... I did fine, but was confused trying to figure out what to do. Maybe I will do it next Sunday again. There is a class on Saturday that is called "Power Pilates" - are you kidding me??
Lora - glad you are getting a relief from the rain...DH said the rain is supposed to let up here today too, but it was sprinkling this morning. WOW... a sale already... I guess it was worth all the work you did and all those back and forth weekends.
Andi - oh darn...you have really been struggling with this virus/whatever! Just when you seemed to be feeling better, today seems sketchy again.... I agree with Lora...take it easy and be kind to yourself.
Robin - yeah for the enjoyable evening... I have to do some shopping today too... hope to get to COSTCO

Susie - Lol! Power Pilates is a different class? WTHeck did you do this morning? With all that weight and equipment, it sounds fairly powerful to me! Ha! I hope you got to Costco and got everything you were looking for. I've been wanting to go to Costco as well. I'm out of Perrier, and I dearly love the 24 pack they carry with the Lime, Strawberry & Peach flavors.
I just checked our weather forecast, and I see more sunshine for Mon and Tue. It looks like rain returns Wed, Thur, Fri and Sat. Geeze, Mother Nature is such a tease.

Hi Everyone, I didnt get a chance this morning to write but that is okay as I am sitting down with my coffee now and relaxing. It was only three of us who went to the art musuem. I took the subway down there. I hadnt been there in a while and the directions werent so good for walking. I was late but they waited. I didnt realize that there was another building right next door with art too. Afterwards we had lunch at Maggianos. I was glad we didnt have to walk far because my heel is still bothering me. Sometimes it feels better than it had and at other times not. Since I had a full lunch I will just have something on the light side if I have anything. Andi, sorry you still arent feeling well. I hope it will get better quick. I got my blood results thru my lab portal. While I was hoping that the A1c had gone down more and it didnt it didnt go up at least. The creatine level went down a litte bit more. I had hoped it was going to go down even more since I have been so good with not taking ibuprofen or any nsaids and that has been since around the beginning of this past October. I am supposed to get another lab work done soon for the nephrologist. I want to ask them if I had this one just done would this one suffice? I have to check the other form that she gave me. I think that one may have included a urinalysis but if not why should I have to do the same test so close to each other. The rest of the evening I am just going to read. We are expected to get those high winds tommorow too. Hopefully we wont lose power. Have a good evening!!

Good evening all. I rested all day, never left the house, and slept for at least a couple of hours this afternoon, am not sure how long. I definitely feel better as a result although it was so hard waking up! Now we'll see what happens when I need to sleep tonight... My voice is also improving so maybe finally I'm on my way out of this. I don't know why I get so scared - I just get this feeling I will never be well again, will never have my life back. I mean, makes sense to feel this if I'm sick with something serious, but a cold??? Anyway, thanks for all the sympathy and concern here, it really helped.
Am roasting some asparagus now - turns out I bought it twice this week, not sure how I'll get through all of it but I'll give it a shot. I'm all set with meals for the week, will just need to pick up some lettuce and cucumbers at some point, maybe tomorrow.
Janet, your day out sounds fun. Sorry the blood results weren't more in line with your hopes - maybe your doc can give you some guidance on how to improve things more. I guess with the A1c it's pretty clear what to do, but that doesn't make it easy.
Susie, I took 3 one on one intro to Pilates classes and could never remember anything and was really put off by the Reformer beds and having to lay everything in a certain way, and all the names for everything, and all the contraption, and how to do each exercise. I was so intimidated I never went back! Good for you for even considering anything called Power Pilates!!!
Robin hope you enjoyed the museum. I find it challenging to do my shopping in unfamiliar stores - it takes twice as long to locate things.
Lora, glad you're getting a break in the rain. Ours has stopped and the wind should start up anytime now, I think, and last through tomorrow.

I SAW THE SUN TODAY !!!
Lora - yes, I got to COSTCO and, later, to a fund-raiser for some of my former colleagues who sponsor a Girls2Women group. As with some other things..the price of the item I purchased did not bother me as much as the shipping every single person has to pay. Finally got home about 6:15 and am fixing dinner now. Tomorrow morning, off to PT with DH and the next week begins.
Janet - mmmmmm ... Maggianos ! Have you also been drinking a lot of water? When my creatinine was high and I cut out the nsaids, etc AND drank a lot of water for a month, it went down. I have taken a few nsaids lately, so I need to halt that and make sure I drink plenty of water before going to my endocrinologist in 2 weeks (just need to see if that keeps things under control). I have been really trying to drink a lot of water and only take tylenol.
Andi - glad you are feeling better... I took the regular Pilates class NOT the Power Pilates....I can't imagine what the power one would be like - lol!
OK...just having dinner---need to go spend some time with DH

Good evening friends.
Just got an email from our agent to confirm that the house buyer has submitted the earnest money check and that they have the home inspection scheduled for 11 am tomorrow. It seems fast to be able to get the inspection scheduled, since we just got a contract signed Friday night, it just seems like it took us longer to get ours scheduled here. It's fine though, let's get this stuff knocked out, take care of any issues, and everybody can relax, right?
Susie - I swear, since you retired you're way busier than you were when you worked full time. Haha.
Andi - it sounds like you've turned the corner with this miserable cold. I'm so glad. I can't clearly remember the last time I was actually sick. But I definitely don't want a refresher course in the crud. Lol
Janet - having your A1C go down would definitely been great, but staying the same is still much better than going up. So, good job with keeping that the same.
