I'm IN.
It's WINDY π¬π¨π¬π¨.
And it's COLD.
But we still have power, which means I still have coffee right from the Cuisinart... βοΈβοΈβοΈ... and two thermoses on standby...
All is well.
π¬π¨π¬π¨π¬π¨π¬π¨π¬ Have a healthy-eating day, all! π¬π¨π¬π¨π¬π¨π¬π¨π¬

I'M IN, MJ. Thanks for the start. In the 40s here this morning but clear and calm. Should warm up nicely; I'll take it.
I stayed up to watch the Oscars last night. Some winners I expected, others were a surprise. A typical Oscar night.
Yoga tonight with DD; I enjoy having her with me so we can get in a little private talk with out DHs or DGKs around. Our time...nice!
Have a good Monday.

Good morning.
Didn't really watch much of the Oscars last night, haven't seen many movies lately. I am glad that Mahershala Ali won---absolutely love him in "True Detective." Wish Glenn Close would have finally gotten the award she deserves!
Cold and very windy this morning but at least it's dry.
KOKO.

It's windy where I am, too, but the sun peeks out from time to time. My husband is home sick today. Everyone where he works seems to be getting sick.
I did watch the Oscars. The highlight for me was Lady Gaga's and Bradley Cooper's performance of Gaga's song Shallow.
I was surprised that Glenn Close didn't win, but I didn't see the movie with the lead actress winner (Olivia ?) so can't really know who I would choose. The rest were easy to guess, but I was a little surprised about Green Book as best picture. I guess I should go see it. The trailer never interested me.

Good morning. I'm in.
I was underwhelmed by the Oscars. Seemed like the whole show was on a treadmill turned up to high speed. Don't understand that. If sports broadcasts can run for 4 or 5 hours, why does the timeframe for this show have to be so rushed. I probably won't bother with the show next year.

Morning all! Thank you for the start MJ π I only saw the last part of the Oscars and ^what everyone else said. I wonder how much longer they will be broadcast at this rate. What a shame. Sorry your husband is sick cyndee. Have a great day everyone! ππβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ

It was very windy at my house but it's insane up here on the beach. I'll be walking inland to avoid getting sandblasted. I half watched the red carpet and the opening half hour or so. I'm in and planned, just need to get it in the tracker.

It's very windy here. We lost power last night about 3:00. DH was downstairs wiring the portable generator to not only run the freezer and fridge but also to do some lights and heat (he's wanted to do this and now seemed like the time).
Just as he finished the lights came on! But we've been up since 3:00! I'm exhausted.
I've had my hair pulled 4 times, bit once today, need to go shopping for classroom supplies, then counseling. Will do a very quick and easy supper and early bed!

I only saw clips of the oscars but I will say that whether they were in character or not, that performance by lady Gaga and Bradley cooper was intense! They certainly got me (and the rest of the internet) trying to figure out if they've fallen in love for real. And if they have not, that is some good acting!!! I want someone to look at me like they looked at each other!

Home from workout. I promised myself Iβd get one in. I always feel better when I finish. Stopped at Kings on my way home. Laundry is started and the kitchen is clean. Relaxing now. Take care this afternoon.

if they've fallen in love for real. Acting, they are actors doing what they do....acting. I'm sure Bradley, as the director, may have encouraged the scene to win over the audience (last night and in the movie) but I think that is all that it was.

Probably. It gets more people to talk about it and go watch the movie too. But it's fun to speculate because that was indeed some intensity going on there!

I liked the idea of no boring host and thought the show moved well. Hate long acceptance speeches too. I've watched almost all of the movies and love to see the beautiful and IMO hideous outfits, outrageousness of some and glamour of others. It gave me time to watch Victoria, which I recorded. I saw The Favourite and it was my least favorite of the movie nominees. Glenn Close was awesome in The Wife. Her husband had the same ego as Rachel Brosnahan's in The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. On Saturday I asked Alexa to pick the winners and she missed best actress and best movie. She chose Roma and I chose Green Book. Now I can't use Alexa to pick lottery numbers for me Beautiful clear day here with highs in the low 60s. I drove out to the place where I buy my olive oil and vinegar and took a photo of an orchard in bloom with the snow capped Sierras in the background. No one was out and about and I got my errands done in an hour. Phoned the doctor and got a Z pack and prescription pills for my cough. Insurance would not pay for the bills but at $30 I bought them. The cough has kept me awake three nights.

Also speaking of the oscars I was a little surprised at all the hate and disgust in some Facebook comments over Billy Porter wearing a long skirt at the awards. Someone said "I miss the old days when men dressed like men" to which someone posted a picture of old royalty (males) in gowns. That was the one highlight of these gross comments. Oh I guess another highlight was someone telling one of the disgusted females that they hope that person owns not one pair of pants.
