This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning friends,
I've been awake for about an hour, but had a good sleep so I'm feeling pretty good this morning. I just spent about 30 minutes sitting beside the window in the guest room, sipping my coffee and watching deer grazing in the back yard. It was dark, and the only light was the road light which is on the other side of the house, so hard to count an exact amount, but there were at least 6. There might have been more closer to the tree line that blended in and I couldn't see. I know when they decided to head toward the back of the property and down the mountain, it looked like more.
It's a chilly 34 degrees here this morning, but it's supposed to get into the 50s and all sunshine. I'm planning to either get a walk/hike done here around the house or get to the gym...probably just depending on how windy it is. My face and lips windburn easily, so I'm not a big fan of being out in it. One way or the other, I plan to be off my bottom and getting some steps today.
I saw a funny meme yesterday regarding weather, it said: "Hard to believe it's only rained twice this winter. Once for 34 days, and once for 27 days." It made me chuckle because that exactly how it feels. I did hear on the news this morning that the area has ad 34 inches of rain since Dec. 1st. Which is pretty amazing considering normally the average yearly rain fall is 57 inches. Lol
Time for a coffee refill, I'll check back later. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone.
Sorry that I did not post over the weekend. We got some pretty disheartening news regarding DS on Saturday and I just was feeling kind of emotional over it.
Other than that our weekend was ok. We got a lot done around the house. I got stocked back up on groceries. I didn't get any food prep done. (I am sure I will regret that today)
Got the info. on my bonus today that I will receive mid-March and my raise for 2019. I am happy with both #s. I am so grateful that I got this job. It really feels like a family within a larger company. Even though I complain about the techs sometimes, I know if something happened to me and I needed any help they would all jump in and offer some help.
Sun is supposed to be out here today. We can really use some sunshine. My back yard is a muddy mess.
I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Jana - so glad you got your pantry/fridge restocked. Just having that part done and options available makes one less thing to worry about. I'm sorry about the troubling news regarding DS. It's way past time for things to start going her way. She and the rest of your family remain in my thoughts. Great news regarding your bonus and raise, I'm so happy for you...You deserve every penny (and then some).

Good Morning - on our way to PT - traffic backed up with those heading into the city for work. Book club tonight in my old neighborhood - just 5 minutes away .
Lora- as he is driving, I just shared the “raining 2 rimes” with DH - he looked at me like I was crazy- then I totally cracked up at the punch line. Your Ancient Mariner quote yesterday was a high school flashback for me (...water water everywhere, nor any drop to drink) - amazing the bits of information we remember! Enjoy the walk, gym, whatever
Jana - I know everyone is reeling over more bad news for DS...good advice you posted on FB about endometriosis. So excited about your bonus and raise- to be happy in ones job is a real blessing

Good morning everyone -
Jana does that mean you'll be able to do both things with the plastic surgeon or are you still holding off on deciding? I hope DS improves. Lora congrats on the house being under contract - I hope that things move forward swiftly! Susie what are you reading in book club right now?
Waving to Andi, Janet, Robin - and everyone else.
I'm going to post something in our FB group in a few - there's a lot going on this week and it's ending with me going to Disney! So I don't believe I can complain.
Had a good weekend - two kids came for a sleepover on Friday night. It's so weird to me that they are at an age to be able to play monopoly and count out their money and understand most of the game. We had a good time including some giggles! Saturday I met up with a coworker to work on some personal stuff for a bit and then watched TV. Yesterday was laundry/housework catch up and a few other things.
I hope everyone has a good Monday. I think it should be good but there's this weird bright light in the sky... so weird to see sunshine after such a gloomy week!

Amanda the bonus is not enough to cover both things. I am going to TRY and get a personal loan for the difference. I don't think it will be a problem as I have recently paid off all my debt except for my car. I do have a small balance on one credit card that I let my parents borrow when they want to see my sister in NC. I am going to wait until I actually receive my bonus (to see what the amount is after taxes) so I can see exactly how much of a loan I will need. So at this point - I am still waiting until I get my bonus check to know if I am doing both procedures or just the one.

Jana - that makes sense. I hope that even just one procedure out of the two makes you feel as great as you are!

Jana, sorry for the news about DS, but happy for the news about the raise and bonus. Hope everything works out.
Lora, that sounds like something I heard years ago about Utica, NY. I was in school near there (as was Andi), and I went to a geography class with DH at his school, 50 miles away. The professor said that Utica had 2 seasons, winter and the 4th of July.
Susie, morning traffic can always be a problem, hope it didn't delay you too much. What book did you read for this one? I have had a very good run on reading books this year so far, I have liked them all.
Amanda, I'll check out that facebook post. hope all is good with you, enjoy the trip to Disney.
Next Sunday I am flying down to DC to visit my BFF from college. I'll be staying with her for 2 nights.

Amanda - had to laugh at the "weird bright light in the sky!"
Amanda and Robin ==The book club book is "BECOMING MRS. LEWIS," -about the wife of C.S.Lewis --- I was not able to get the book from the library and didn't want to buy it, so I haven't read it - uh oh! My other book club book is "THE GLASS OCEAN" which I currently have. I am almost finished THE ALICE NETWORK by Kate Quinn - which I am loving.
Jana - Yeah for getting the debt paid off...sure hope you can get everything done that you want

Good evening all. The wind is still pretty strong here but is supposed to die down in the next hour. We had no power issues so I am grateful. Best of all, I am feeling so much more like myself! The day started slowly but by lunch time (and half a cup of regular coffee), I was feeling much better and realize I will again be well. There shouldn't have been any doubt in my mind but there was. A couple of other people in my office had this and we commiserated, all had the same symptoms, and 2 of them are a lot younger than I am, so now I feel better about the whole thing. Still, what a miserable week!
I'm not quite ready for the gym yet, have PT tomorrow morning and that may be enough for the day on top of work. But I'm getting there. I'm trying a new digestive remedy, psyllium husks - has anyone tried this? Lora, I saw on Amazon that a lot of people doing Keto use it because you guys don't get a lot of fiber generally. It doesn't taste so bad, but it thickens the water you mix it in quickly so you have to chug it. I'm willing to try anything...
Lora, lol about the rain. Sounds so peaceful in the early morning with your coffee and the deer before sunrise. I love early mornings.
Jana, great news about the bonus and the raise! Wish we had things like that in the nonprofit world.
Susie, enjoy book club tonight.
Amanda, sounds like a fun evening with the kids. I didn't think they still played board games, thought it was all electronic stuff these days. Have a great trip to Disney! What do you do there? I think of it as a kid's place.
Robin, a trip to DC sounds fun. Too bad you couldn't schedule it around cherry blossom time.
Have a good evening everyone.

Hi Everyone, Today was a frustrating kind of day with my kids. One of my newer boys is not cooperating with my requests..Then on top of that its always when someone comes to talk they always are very needy all of a suddden. I think that seems to be the Murphy's Law of working with young children. Other than that my day was ok. Lol! Jana, sorry that the news about your sister has not been as positive as you were hoping. I hope things will improve very soon in a positive way. Amanda, congrats and hope things work in your favor. I am trying out the new washer and dryer in my apartment building. The washer went up a quarter more but the dryer is the same. They have an option to somehow use a mobile app to put money in the machine. Not sure if I trust that but if for some reason I didnt get enough change it woukd be good. I am beginning to fall asleep so take care.
