Good morning all and happy Monday. This past week seemed to fly by. I slept well. Woke up a few times to to the wind. It's pretty wild out there.
We go into Worcester today for our PCP exam. Medicare is requesting it done twice a year. While there, we'll stop along the way and browse around as we make our way back home.
Have a great day, all. Stay safe warm and dry! Hopefully we don't lose power!

Hi Ann and friends who follow, Happy very, very, very windy Monday!! 60 MPH or higher predicted for today and it is really whistling outside my work window on the campus. I hope none of the huge trees come down. DH called me before I left for work and told me to wait a bit due to a whiteout snow squall hitting the area soon. Luckily it did miss us but hit him in Boston pretty hard. Short lived but hard to see.
Did anyone watch the Oscars? I mainly wanted to see Gaga and Bradley Cooper. If that was not a romantic few moments on stage with their song, I am not sure what would qualify! Love them both but not sure his girlfriend would feel the same way. Hollywood!
I brought a salad, leftover chicken, rice cake with LF Laughing Cow cheese and Everything Bagel seasoning for snacks. I have a dinner out tonight. I think I am really getting a hold of portions over time and tracking much better. Now if I can only get the exercise portion going, I will be able to create that calorie deficit I need to push these pounds away.
Have a great day all. Pam, did you get affected by the terrible tornadoes and weather in the south - rain, etc? Sue, are you okay up there in MI? My colleague's son lives in Wisconsin and wow, they are getting hammered with snow.
TTFN! Judy

Judy your lunch sounds delish. I love the LF cow cheese. I also enjoy the lite baby bell. I'm lacking in the exercise department as well. Seems like as much as I want to 'house walk' my kindle calls me to the recliner LOL. Forget about walking out in this wind snow ice or cold. I'm just not that dedicated! We had to cancel our PCP appointment for today. While Carl was out with LuLa he noticed shingles flying from our roof!!!!! He was able to salvage them and they are in the shed. We don't feel comfortable in going all the way into Worcester...best we stick around here. Tomorrow if it's not windy, Carl will go up on the roof to see what's what! May have to call a roofer...it all depends. Never a dull moment LOL....... We took a quick trip to Hannaford's where I picked up a rotisserie chicken. That seems to be a weekly staple around here. Quick easy and delish Take care, all!

Hi Ann, I am also a big fan of the rotisserie chickens. So versatile!
Yikes with the flying shingles. You aren't the only one, I know! I am worried that trees will start toppling outside my window. You were wise not to drive to Worcester today. You never know what you will encounter with this crazy weather. Relax in the recliner! I have two new books to read. An Anonymous Girl and Don't You Cry. Both thrillers but not gory, I hope. TTFN.

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! I did take today off and stayed home. Unfortunately, our power went out mid morning and was off for several hours. It came back for about an hour then went off again. I know we had wind storms yesterday, but today is sunny and calm! Geez ...... I am deciding about school tomorrow. Thanks for the tips on staying home and resting. I may just do that one more day, especially with all the power outages disrupting my day today.
DH is off to his cardiologist's office to have a blood draw and to double check the antibiotic the Urgent Care doc gave him. At least that will put his mind at rest.
I have been in my recliner wrapped in my fuzzy double blanket reading. Fortunately my tablet was fully charged and the Kindle app had a new book downloaded. Good planning on my part ......
Back to try to get some rest. BBL. Make a great day!!

Just got off the phone to reschedule our pcp appts. We're going 3/12. She wanted me to go the week before but that's when I see Enzo lol and he is my priority!
A roofer will be here at some point tomorrow to fix the roof. It just so happened that our trash man was here to see the flying shingles and gave Carl the number of a roofer friend. He stopped by and will come tomorrow to fix it.
Judy yes rotisserie chicken rocks. I especially like getting it at bj's as they are bigger lol
Sue I vote for taking one more day to get yourself all better. Happy reading and hope your power stays put.
Back to my kindle.

Good morning all. The roofer will be coming today. I also have my eye exam so she can check on my macular degeneration. Hopefully it's 'holding its own'.
Need to stop at the town hall and pay our auto excise bill also.
Then we'll come home and I'm thinking of a meatloaf for supper. We'll see how that pans out.
Take care and hope y'all enjoy a nice OP day.
Sue hope DH made out well at the doctors yesterday.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday!! I took all your good advice and stayed home again today. I posted my absence online early enough that our favorite sub picked it up which put my mind at ease for my classes being covered well.
DH did well at the doctor. His cardiologist wasn't in, but his nurse manager was and DH talked with her and she said the meds were okay but he should come back in for a second blood draw next week. She also took the EKG he took in from the Urgent Care and promised to talk with his cardiologist. She already has and texted DH with an appointment for next week. So that worry is off his mind.
I called this morning to make a follow-up appointment with my PCP and got one for next Thursday (3/7). I will be finished with the Z-Pak for a week by then and he can check if I'm well. I also need to talk to him about a different Urgent Care since we've all been unhappy with this one both times that we've used it.
Judy ~ Sorry you are suffering with the winds we had earlier. We had a lot of power outages from it. When DH went to the doctor yesterday he found one of our main thoroughfares without traffic lights for miles. On his way back (shortly before rush hour) the County was out attaching a generator to one major intersection.
Ann ~ I have to agree about rotisserie chicken! We like the ones at Sam's Club the best (because they are bigger and juicier) so I know what you mean. They are a great supper, plus a couple more and (for us) a couple of lunches.
Today I am just catching up on a few things around here (that I couldn't do without electricity yesterday) and getting mentally prepared to go back to work tomorrow. We are expected to have a snowfall overnight so don't know how that will play out. Do hope they don't call a snow day since we aren't getting paid for them any more. We lost a day's pay week before last due to weather.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all,
Glad you are home Sue. Best place to be when you are under the weather and in this weather!! Smart thinkin' to have that Kindle charged up but I am not the least bit surprised. You are always right on top of what needs to be done, and you are a GREAT planner. Glad your DH breathed a sigh of relief from his appointment and glad you finished the Z pack. There is a lot of stuff going around here, too.
Ann, I chuckled about Enzo taking priority to other appointments - even doctors - because that is me exactly! That was my mom, too. Come hell or high water, she would be at her hair stylist every Friday at 10 AM! :-) We used to joke about it. Nothing stopped her! There is just something about having your hair spiffed up that is vital to our happiness. :-) And, Lord knows, we spend enough $$ on it all over time, but it's so worth it. I relate to the bigger rotisserie chicken options, too. There's one big store near us and my DH calls their rotisserie chickens pigeons! Ha ha. They are tiny - good for one meal if you are lucky. I like the bigger ones, too.
Today I went to a Eating Healthy on the Run session with a nutritionist brought in by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care at work. She was very good. All stuff we all know, but good to get reinforcements and reminders. However, the room was so warm and I nearly nodded off at one point as she was so relaxing to listen to!
Last night I met my Monday Monthly dinner group. Because of all the power outages, the place we usually go (the 99, Pam) was booked beyond solid and waiting lines were out the door. So on a whim, we tried Applebees since it was nearby. Unfortunately, we really struck out! I had a small sirloin steak with a baked potato. The steak was charred to black and impossible to cut and the potato was completely cold and raw - no exaggeration- not cooked at all. Two of us had the same issue and we send our dinners back sadly. we had to wait for burgers and they were charred to black, too, but we ate them. My roll was ice cold so I skipped that. Not sure what was happening in the kitchen but we won't be going back there. My friends tell me that there is another one near their homes and it is usually very good. Must be the management or chef. They were generous last night and wound up only charging all of us for our drinks. That was very nice but it wasn't a very nice dining experience overall. Oh well...sometimes that happens.

LOL Judy so happy you could relate to the 'hair deal' Between my hair and my nails ... I keep up with those...the rest, oh well LOL. Made out well with my eye exam. I need to go back in November for my macular degeneration test. This was so she could see if the temporary plugs she put in 6 months ago were doing their job. They did...not much itching or dry eyes...and they evaporated as they should. She may put in permanent ones later...if I feel the need. It's always nice to get a refresher course, Judy. The only Applebees that Carl and I will go to is the one in Greenfield. We've been to several and had the same experience you did. I guess they are NOT all created equal. Still waiting for the roof guy to come. He didn't give us a time...just said that he would be here today. Hopefully he makes it.

Happy Hump Day back to all of you! I was late getting into work because I waited home for a delivery person who was supposed to drop off building supplies for the bathroom. My DH is in Boston working and he didn't want to leave them outside with the snow on the way and extreme cold. Well, tick, tock, tick, tock...I waited and waited for an 8:30 AM delivery that did not arrive - 9:30 and 10 rolled around. I checked on the tracking but no big help there so I headed off to work. Fingers crossed. On the way, I stopped for a quick WI at WW since I missed my workshop yesterday. I maintained which I will take. My own scale showed a loss of 1 lb. Either way, I'm good.
Pam, I am very impressed that you are often able to refocus and melt off vacation lbs. Such a great skill and discipline. I have been tracking and watching portions but weight comes off like a slug. Exercise and calorie deficit needed. The leader today (I listened for a minute) focused on protein and the need to incorporate more of it. I'll take that advice to heart this week though I do think I get a lot. She suggested 80-90 grams a day. She said it has helped several of her struggling members.
Ann, glad you are feeling chipper today! I'm still tired a lot and thinking it has to be the weather. I went to bed really early last night but feel I could nap again already. Sheesh!
At noon, our former TOPS (now STARS) group is having a guest speaker. Our campus Police chief has recently lost over 100 lbs and he is coming to give us a pep talk. Sounds good to me!
All for now.
