Liz, has your office environment improved with reference to the ambient conditions and the problem staff member? Did the headache abate yesterday? Has Corolla remained somewhat sedate compared to Hattaras and the other more suburban locations at OBX? That was one of the things we liked about it. But if you think about it in terms of proximity to grocery stores, etc.,I think it's closer than we are to the same things where we currently live, even though it seems a ways away down the 12. Guess it's all relative.
Has Iggy mellowed a bit today so you have more time to do things you need to do, Chele? How was the spaghetti? I totally understand about having two males who will not be ignored and be willing to do it all over again.
Becky, what's on your agenda for the day? Is the weather conducive to a walk outside? What's that scampy Scooter up to today?
Getting close, Kathy! Are you deep into closing things out?
Linda, how areyou feeling? Good that you had an easy dinner prep last night.
Heard from DSIL this morning and they are putting their house on the market this week, with a June close. I think it will sell pretty quickly. They are going to AL in April in the hope of finding their new home. I'm excited for them to get on with their next adventure and out of the cold and wet winters. I did a load of towels and one of rugs, made Arya's week's worth of boiled eggs and her breakfast oats for tomorrow and Thursday but that's been about it. I'm laying rather low today because when I took off the bandaid the doc put over the stitches yesterday, 2 of the 3 Steri-Strips also came off. Last time that didn't happen for 2 1/2 weeks and it hasn't even been a week yet, so it's way too early for that to safely happen. I managed to locate some in a box of miscellaneous bandages so I was able to replace them. But, in addition to that, the location of this wound is forcing me to walk in a way that seems to be aggravating my previously dormant plantar fasciitis. I'm using a velcro arch support so I hope that will help. Dale took out the kayak and I hated that I couldn't go out as well. Kinda difficult to get down to the water on 2 sore feet and, even if I could, I have to step into the water to get in and out of the kayak, and that would not be good for a foot with somewhat fresh sutures. So it's a Doctor Who day for me.

Karen, thanks for the start. Love pistachios but don’t have any at hand. For someone with 2 sore feet you accomplished a lot. I hate it when the plantar fasciitis flares up. Just what you didn’t need. Is the knee still doing okay? Did Dale say how the water was? Has it risen any more? The tea is a golden color-yellow tinged with brown. It was an earthy flavor that not everyone would like. Iggy likes beets which I think are earthier but he hates the yellow tea. The T.B. Burrito does have a flour tortilla. I do like their tostadas as well without the chipotle sauce. I don’t care for chipotle anything.
Liz, how is Gary today? How is the office? Did it cool down?
Kathy, 2 more days after today. Do you guys go out for drinks or anything when someone leaves?
Becky, what have you been up to? Did you get the predicted rain today?
Linda, you are right about living with Dracula 🧛♂️. He was up at 1 am this morning sending out resumés. Did you start your new day at the museum today? How were the sinuses today?
We have had a nice sunny if cold day. I saw the robins in the back and the mourning doves out front, so I feel like spring is coming. Iggy went back to bed at 4 am and got up at 8 and is now back in bed. He did get out and go to the bank and did some answering of email. I woke up at 2 am because he was up and about bit I have not gone back to bed or taken a nap. I hope his jet lag goes away soon. I am a much lighter sleeper than he is and if he is making noise I am awake. I decided to make homemade pasta today to go with the sauce and meatballs. It was my first time and it turned out pretty good. I could have rolled it a bit thinner before cutting it but it was tasty. I did get my workout in today while Iggy was at the bank, so that made me happy. I had a lot more cleaning up to do today because Iggy is messy. All he did was give me a cheeky grin and said “I’m back” when I mentioned it.

Thanks for the start Karen. Not much was planned for today.I rode the recumbent bike 30 min this morning and this afternoon it was cloudy but not windy and 62 degrees so I took a long walk.As far as Scooter is concerned she has been a good dog.I think Kathy was right about her associating us taking her leash off to us leaving. The last 3 days we have left it on her and she doesn't try to get out when we leave. We get our SS checks tomorrow so Kenneth is getting a haircut and we need to buy groceries. He has mentioned something about eating out but hasn't said anything today. He wasn't feeling well last night. It was really cool with the wind blowing and he came inside feeling chilled and feeling like he was running a fever. He didn't feel like cooking and I didn't have anything I could warm up for me so I grilled pork chops on our inside electric grill. We both split a pork chop and a baked sweet potato and that's all he ate.He took a nap after dinner until about 8:30 and still slept all night. He has taken 2 naps today but he says he feels better so I don't know what was going on with him.Your DB and his wife have decided to move to AL?Take it easy since you don't have a foot/leg to stand on so to speak.
Chele I love chipotle seasonings.I have a Mrs Dash in the southwestern chipotle flavor and it's so flavorful on meat but then you don't eat meat.We got a light drizzle this morning and that was it.They were talking about it getting up to 85 Thursday but now I think a cold front that wasn't supposed to make it this far into TX is expected.I'm glad because that's too hot for this time of year.I hope Iggy's jet lag goes away soon.I'm like you.I'm a much lighter sleeper than Kenneth but sometimes I don't even hear him go to the bathroom during the night.LOL on I'm back.
Kathy Your retirement is fast approaching.

Karen, drats, no pistachios in the house! I started closing out things last week, but still have some paperwork to go. Taking the equipment back was the biggest job. That will be nice for your DSIL and DB to get out of the harsh winters. I hope the velcro arch support helps with the foot. I would guess it's a little harder with this one since the other one isn't completely healed. How was Doctor Who?
Chele, we are so scattered with where people live that they don't typically go out for drinks anymore. It's been a little strange since the main coworker I worked with is out and I'm in a new group. I'm not expecting a big sendoff which is okay. I'd just as soon sneak out the back door unnoticed. LOL on Iggy's remark. He's messy and he knows it.
Becky, retirement is fast approaching! It still doesn't seem real yet. We were in the 70s and cloudy today, so it was pretty nice. That's funny about Scooter and the leash. Hope Kenneth is feeling better.
Liz, have things improved with the office temperature? Hope your staff member has cooled off and things are returning to normal. Hope Gary is feeling better.
Linda, hope you're feeling better.

Chele, I was kind of surprised this morning when the PF started to misbehave. Hasn't happened for a few years and it took me a little while to figure out what was going on. The incision on the left foot is closer to the side of the foot and the one on the right foot is just below the pinkie toe, so kind of a different placement. Wish my new Merrell sandals would come but we are supposed to have highs in the 40s next week so may be too cold to wear them just yet. Knee is still behaving. Dale seemed to enjoy his time out on the water but it was a little coolish and he had to navigate around a lot of debris. I think I would like that tea. Did you get it loose or in bags? I'm not a fan of red beets but I like golden ones that are milder. I do like chipotle but not on my tostadas. I used to put TB hot sauce on them and a little lettuce. Don't need the cheese. I hope Iggy gets acclimated to being back on US time soon. I am also a light sleeper, so if Dale gets up, it wakes me up, regardless of how quiet he tries to be. Haven't had homemade pasta for a while but we have both the crank and electric pasta makers. My DF was the noodle making guy, pretty much all by hand. I hope you have lots of leftovers.
I'm glad you got a long walk outside, Becky. I know it felt good. It amazes me how our pups get into routines so easily, like Scooter and her leash. Hope Kenneth will quickly get over what ever was ailing him. Yes, DB/DSIL have talked for several years about moving south but weren't going to do anything as long as DM was alive. They were looking at places in FL and GA but since their vacation last year, they have decided that they like AL southeast of Mobile (Daphne, Foley, Fairhope). They are looking at places that are inland but within half an hour to the Gulf. They are looking at moving after school lets out because their one daughter and 2 grandchildren will also be moving. Their grandson lives with them now and their granddaughter lives with her mother, who is the niece planning to move. The baby daddy of the little girl is only a couple hours away so it makes sense. Only the grandson will be living with DB/DSIL. DSIL messaged me about an hour ago that the house isn't even on the market yet but their realtor has "a few" people who want to see it as soon as tomorrow. I told them it would go fast but wasn't expecting it to go this fast. I don't think they were either. They plan to do a June close, so even if it sells, they will have time to get ducks in a row.
Kathy, I am deeply into Matt Smith territory on DW, so you know there is a lot of Amy Pond and River Song. At this point, he still doesn't know who River really is but I think that will be coming soon. I kind of wish they hadn't had a big sendoff for me but I think it was kind of a campus expectation, given my position. I don't know that I had a watershed moment when it hit me that I was retired. Not having to go to work 5 days a week just naturally evolved. I think it helped that I was used to working 4-day weeks in the summer and maybe your having every other Friday off will do the same for you. DB/DSIL are definitely looking forward to getting to more milder climes. However, sometimes I think they are a bit too eager to get some distance between themselves and some of their kids who will be having to grow up quite a bit without them to lean on so much. Since it's a "yours, mine, and ours" situation, the kids who will be remaining in the area do have other parents and relatives who will still be in the area. But DB/DSIL are the ones that are usually first to be called when there is "an emergency". Oldest DN wants to move his family here or to Asheville and I have told him over and over that he needs some decent job skills to be able to afford it. Don't know if he'll finally listen.

Wow, Karen hope that pf goes away. I need to lose weight again or mine will come back.
Funny, when I retired at end if school year if just felt like summer...until Bob went back in August and the dog and I were alone and he got sick. I spent five weeks driving to vet 20 minutes away every ither day, eventually I started with museum to have someone to talk to!
I am still Wed for thisweek.
Out to breakfast with old colleague from west Phx I had not seen since Early Dec. This tends to last 1 1/2 to 2 hours and last half was me trying to guess why here tv and apple tv became snow when she tried to change it with a remote. not a tech person at all.
Walked dog and found dh's magnifying floor lamp from Sharper image had come..had to put that together and figure out how he can use it, and it is not very handy as you must have what you read under it with glass parallel and you able to see through it. Think you can get sun burn.
Dinner is made for later...trying Eating Well's reduced sugar and sodium sloppy Joes with beef and beans. Smelled good. www.eatingwell.com/recipe/269787/beef-bean-sloppy-joes/

Karen, do you know who River Song is yet? I don't want to say too much, but will say that Matt Smith's reaction when he knows is hysterical. I would expect a big sendoff in your position and especially since you had worked with a lot of them for a long time. I took a peek at the service awards since I would've made 20 years this year. The 20 year award was a leather portfolio with the company name on it, so I'm not missing much. I was chuckling at some of the higher up awards since they included a clock and the very top one of 45 years was a watch! I would think jobs are fairly limited where you are, so hope DN listens to you.
Linda, hope you enjoyed the sloppy Joes. I can see where that would take awhile to feel retired when you were used to summers off.
