WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Just line dancing today (Wednesday) –
Mammogram – they found a spot. I’ll need to have a needle biopsy (ouch) but the radiologist suspects it will not prove to be malignant. He said he doesn’t say that to everyone, so I’m keeping the faith. If it isn’t one thing, it’s another at my age.
Jan – How exciting that your group will probably win the grand prize. Give yourself credit for their motivation. It doesn’t come from nowhere.
Kathy – So sorry you’re having to deal with all the driving in this weather. I know you’ll be celebrating the arrival of spring this year. Hope you can keep your cycle going while out of town It will take real focus. I’m betting on you.
Lori – I’m also being on my best behavior prior to Saturday’s WI. I’ll surely be up but hopefully not too much.
Another month hits the dust............

Good morning. Eating was so-so yesterday. I’m planning on a mostly Core day today.
Nancy, sorry about the need for a needle biopsy. That’s not fun at all. At least the prognosis sounds encouraging.
Kathy, has it been a rougher winter than usual for you? I think you’ll be fine eating what is served, as long as you steer clear of the sweets and have everything else in moderation.
Lori, there are four ways to win our challenge. We used a heart rate monitor and app this time. There are prizes for both the team and individual with the most activity points (based on the HRM data) for the seven weeks, and prizes for both the team and individual with the highest percentage of weight loss. Both individual prizes are $300.

Last night went really well! Great time with friends and very happy with how I handled the food and drink. It was ½ price wine Wednesday so bottles of wine were ordered. I also asked for a club soda and I made my own wine spritzer. It worked out very well since I was in control of how much wine and I really only like a splash so I probably had 4 – 6 oz total. The food, I passed on the homemade potato chips and chicken wings. I had a spoonful of the artichoke dip w/celery sticks, about 2 in piece of soft pretzel (my fav), 1 battered shrimp and some chicken Cesar salad w/cheese crisps. I went back for more salad, it had dressing on it but it wasn’t saturated. Felt it was my best choice. Then they served a Hugh slice of Chocolate Fudge cake to the birthday girl who shared and everyone was raving about it…I thought about having a small piece but didn’t want to risk it being a trigger and remembered I had the Chocolate Mug Cake ready to make at home so I passed. When I got home, I debated to have my Mushu and egg roll like planned – decided I wasn’t that hungry and I wanted the cake more so I made the cake and 8oz of my yogurt frosting. I had ½ around 7 p.m. and the other half at 9….I was very satisfied and enjoyed every bite! Ready for a MFP day today!!
Nancy, So glad February is over, Spring is coming…So sorry you have to go thru that procedure but glad it sounds like a positive outcome…
Jan, Wow – Great prizes!! Hope you and your Team enjoy the Victory!!
Kathy, hope your travels are going well and you advanced in your cycle!
Hello to Everyone reading!
