Thanks for the start, Chele. How's the new crown? How did Iggy think the interview went? No chili here today, but I will be making black beans. I have an easy recipe that is basically black beans, OJ, onions, garlic, and a few other spices with rice. The recipe is one that was in Vegetarian Times probably a couple of decades ago and was adapted from one of the Moosewood Restaurant cookbooks. I got over an hour of deep sleep last night but woke up in the middle of the night and it took me an hour to get back to sleep, so I ended up with about 7 hours of sleep. Were one or both of you up in the middle of the night again?
Linda, we should be getting colder weather here over the weekend. So much for the groundhog not seeing his shadow. Sorry about your museum boss's wife's kidney stone. Ouch is right! What kind of Italian did you have for dinner? Delivered is nice. Don't even have to get into the car.
When did they send you on your way today, Kathy? I've spent the morning watching the Doctor, River, Amy, and Rory and, yes, Spoilers, "Sweetie"!
Liz, do I want to ask how the week is going? Has Gary completely recovered from his illness?
Did you have weather good enough for an outdoor walk, Becky? I'm looking forward to being able to get back outside but the foot still has at least 3 weeks minimum, if recovery time is like the right one has been.
We have another dreary day here and it just started rain. Yes, again! Numerous places around here are still under water or cleaning up from the weekend floods, so it's exactly what we don't need. Dale was planning to go get a new battery mid-morning, but the truck wouldn't start, even after charging it all day yesterday, and it was only in the 50s for the low last night, so not cold at all. He was going to charge it again and go out late afternoon but then it started raining, so he can't put the charger on it. He'll try again in the morning. I heard from a close friend a couple of days ago that her DH had another stroke and was in the hospital. I checked in with her this morning and he was in the process of being transferred to the local rehab center but she got a call while we were talking and she messaged me back that it was from his oncologist and they found some cancer cells in his stomach. She is also dealing with an elderly mother with dementia and she and her 2 brothers are taking turns spending nights with mama. So she has a lot more going on than a dead truck battery and can't seem to catch a break. I really hate it because she is one of those people who would do anything for anybody.

Chele, thanks for the start. Did you have any chili today? What did Iggy think of the interview? Karen, I'm free at last!!! It was harder to get out of there than I thought, lol! I had to go over a long checkout list with my supervisor and had to turn badges in and the laptop and equipment from the other company's site. I definitely got some extra steps in. The development machine which is a large desktop and 2 monitors stays in the lab, so thankfully I didn't have to do anything with that. Meanwhile, one of my coworkers sent me an email right as I was leaving and wanted me to work on something at the last minute. I'm not sure what part of "I'm leaving" that he didn't get or maybe it just dawned on him that he would have to do it himself! Then I had to make a trip to the corporate building since my supervisor at the customer site didn't want to take my badge and token. Not that I blame her, but that's what our security guy said to do. Oh well, it's done and I'm outta there! Very sorry to hear what your friend is dealing with and yes, that does make most problems seem trivial. Hope your weather improves soon. I've been seeing some stories about the flooding.
Waving to all.

Chele Thanks for the start.I will have to miss national chili day by one day.We still have pork chops for tonight but am making chili beans tomorrow night.
Karen No outside walk today. We woke up to 37 degrees, drizzly and wind.It has made it up to 41,cloudy and windy at 4:30.I have done one round on the recumbent bike and will do another one later. We will definitely not make it out of the 40's today and they are talking about freezing temps Monday and Tuesday.I'm sorry about your friend's DH.Kenneth still has pain from his stroke 8 yrs ago and still doesn't use his right hand for eating but he does have limited use of it for other things. We have another friend who had a stroke a couple of months ago and spent a month in rehab just like Kenneth did.We have a neighbor who said her mom's mind is getting worse every day so she is planning to spend some time with her.Her mom doesn't live around here.
Kathy Yea on being free and retired.I'm sorry it took so long for you to get out of work today but you will have lots of Friday's from now on.
Linda I will take your 80 degrees anytime. They have even taken our two predicted 70 degree days out of the forecast now.
I went to get my hair trimmed this morning. It feels much better now.We also went to Walmart,PO and to get a license tag for the trailer. Now hopefully we will get all we need for the weekend tomorrow at HEB.

Kathy, happy days! Enjoy your freedom.
Linda, have fun in the sun.
Karen, sorry to hear about your friend’s problems.
Becky, I hooe you had a good day.
Liz, it is almost the weekend.
The crown is fine. No problems. Iggy’s interview was rescheduled. The interviewer had car troubles. I think I picked up Iggy’s germs. I have been coughing with an itchy throat today. I was up at 3 and Iggy was up at 4. This lack of sleep is killing me. I am going to bed shortly and hope I can catch a few winks.

New avatar...The bird is Ruby, a parrot at Biodel Conservatory in Vancouver, now a favorite place of Bob's. we met Ruby with her keeper who was giving extra time to her as she had lost her mate. I just did this photo as a painting for Bob.
