hpeterson1951 what a scary moment for you and your student diva49 you are a better grandma than me I pick up one child two afternoons a week and take him from school to his home where there is a babysitter. I am not as reliable as you 55 in central CA with a high of 64 I have a dentist appointment at 10:15 and am meeting DH for lunch. Have already planned to order a salad with dressing on the side and will drink water or tea. I have finally begun to get better and actually slept all of last night from midnight till 6 a.m. without coughing. Drugged up for my appointment. Unfortunately my stomach hurts and I could not finish my breakfast yogurt, a first for me. zazzles lmenglish uses creative spelling Having taught in the ghetto for 6 years, I am good at deciphering the intent I'm stopping by a club new member orientation at 1 p.m. I have to call the new members for a monthly lunch count at meetings and I can save a lot of phone calls this month. Dinner is unusual. I bought take out from a home chef Hye Girl in Fresno. Hye is the Armenian word for Armenian. The meal is moussaka, homemade pilaf, salad and peanut butter cookies. There is no topping for the moussaka so I am going to make half of Bobby Flay's bechamel sauce to add flavor but cut calories. Speaking of recipes, check out Skinnytaste Seattle smoked salmon chowder. Looks delicious.

DebDoesWW perhaps you should have someone else do the job? I shudder for those trees.

zazzles , I hope your procedure goes well and your blood sugar behaves! hpeterson1951 , scary---that could easily have gone very bad! You do a wonderful job with those kids and they are lucky to have you! jamescat1, that smoked salmon chowder looks good but I don't know where I would get hot-smoked salmon here. We are back to having too many eggs again, lol. From zero to almost full production in the last few weeks. I got a recipe for a baked egg dish from a chicken-keeper's website that calls for eighteen eggs and I tossed a few more in for good luck. From there I improvised quite a bit and ended up with a casserole dish full of eggs, diced potatoes, steamed chopped broccoli, sauteed onions and green and red peppers, grated smoked gouda, salt, pepper, and a few good dashes of hot sauce, topped with sliced green onions. Baked for about an hour at 350. I am assuming that it will freeze well, like a frittata, in individual portions. A buttery pound cake would be a great way to use up eggs too but it would kill my diet so no...no buttery pound cake. Wishing all a good day. KOKO.

I’m in. This afternoon we take our dog to the vet to have her stitches removed. No more collar, so she will be delighted. It’s been a long two weeks.
The sun is out and the sky is blue. Aiming for blue today to end February blue. Have a great day everyone.

fullmahina The recipe ingredients say 8 ounces thick cut smoked salmon cut into pieces so I will try it with TJ smoked salmon or just cook a piece of salmon in the oven or on the grill to add to the soup. I think flavor will be good with all of the other ingredients. Have you made eggs in muffin cups for snacks? They stay in the refrigerator a long time. One egg with 1T water per cup with diced vegetables. My nutritionist taught a cooking class at Whole Foods and said it was a recipe her boys liked for snacks. I made them and really liked them and were better to grab than a protein bar etc.

Have you made eggs in muffin cups for snacks? I have seen lots of those recipes and always mean to make them but usually end up with a frittata that I cut into serving sizes and freeze. The baked egg casserole I just made would be great for a brunch and less trouble than a stove-top frittata. The idea of making those muffins still intrigues me and with all the eggs we are getting I think I will try it next time!

Howdy, I’m back. Upper endoscopy was fine; two polyps removed during colo. Doc said the prep still didn’t clean me out completely. Come ON…14 days of prep…just stick a fire house in my mouth and turn it on next time! I savored every bite of my homemade Mac & Cheese with a big glass of Fairlife FF milk and a WW triple chocolate protein bar for dessert. My face is now happy (as well as my stomach). In case anyone missed the memo, brunch this Sunday is at fullmahina’s house! I don’t see any more posts by DebDoesWW; she must be out chainsawing things.

Found this recipe from the NYT that looks good too---doesn't specify hot or cold smoked salmon. A little rich, I think. cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1014545-lox-chowder
