This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Yeah Friday!
At one time I would have been thrilled that I was wide awake after only 5 hours of sleep. I would have reveled that I was not sleeping my life away. But right now I'd rather be in the bed and wondrously oblivious to the rest of the world. Oh well, maybe a nap later. I feel like I'm getting into a not so good routine with this, but that's not something I'm going to worry about right now. It's not like I'm going to be nodding off at my desk this afternoon, right?
I made individual pizza casseroles for supper last night that included ground pork that I seasoned with Italian seasonings and crushed red pepper flakes, the marinara I picked up at Aldi's, and the fresh whole milk mozzarella and mushrooms also from Aldi. I made them separately in 2 small casserole dishes so I could put pepperoni on DHs. When they came out of the oven I added some freshly grated parmesan. They were absolutely delicious. Andi I love that marinara. It was a totally different taste from the Rao's I've been getting, but really tasty. I'll definitely buy that again.
Andi - so sorry about your long day and your food challenges. I think you did great in the end though, and that should definitely make you proud. Don't think of it as "I struggled today", think of it as "I faced adversity and I kicked it's @$$!" I hope today is easier for you. Could you maybe reach out to one of your BLE ladies if you start feeling stressed like that again? Sometimes having some immediate accountability will bolster your strength and get you over the hump. Yes, if for some reason this sale fell through, we would just keep trying. Reasons that I worry? It might not appraise for the sale price, or something falls through with the buyers financing, that kind of stuff. Stuff I have zero control over. I got an update from Zillow last night that one of the other 2 houses on my street was now pending sale as well. It's the one that went on the market 2 days before we did, diagonally across the street from ours, with the lowest asking price of the 3.
Well, I think I'll put on a movie. I hate to start drinking coffee this early, it just doesn't seem right.

Good morning Lora and ATF. I had my March 1 WI this morning, down 3 lbs for a total of 16.5 since 11/25/18, now 137. Am very happy with the total although the amount I lose each month is dropping and I expect that trend to continue - likely only 2 lbs next month. Of course there was the carrot cake extravaganza one day this past month so that might have had an effect. Lora, you're right, support from other BLEs when I struggle like that is so helpful and in fact I texted with one and then with a couple of friends on my way home on the train. Ultimately it comes down to my own resolve and sometimes my crazy brain gets in my way. So much obsessing with nothing to show for it and it so wears on my spirit.
Feeling better today, slept pretty well. I don't have to rush out this morning but do have to get a bit organized for my cleaning lady and also to take a toy or two to DGS's house when I go there later. I bought a bunch of things for DGD when she was here and I think DGS would enjoy playing with the toy airplane that comes with its own drill. I'll bring it back home to keep here but I like seeing his face light up. I have meetings, then PT, then dinner with the family, home late again. No major plans for the weekend though so will be able to relax - opera tomorrow and dinner out, and on Sunday hopefully yoga and then meeting old friends for dinner. Plenty of time to grocery shop and maybe even get to the gym. I feel like keeping cooking really simple this week.
Lora, your dinner sounds so delicious! Yeah, and I clearly know what obsessing about things you can't control is like... And I've had one cup of coffee and meditated, going for a second now.
Have a great day all.

Andi - I'm glad you have layers of support systems available. For me, some times just a quick read here or cruising my keto FB group posts is enough to snap me out of a bad place. I'm also glad you mentioned your meditation. I've never done that, and I'm not even sure I'd know how to start, but I feel like I need something to calm my brain a bit and that might help. I guess I need to do a little research. Outside of what I've seen on TV *Ohmmmmmmmmmm* I have no exposure to the practice. So, I'm off to google. It can't hurt, right? Lots of High Fives on your WI! you're doing super and I think weighing once a month is terrific. I mean, if the carrot cake had caused a momentary gain I think the danger of something like that throwing me even further off track is a strong possibility. So not doing that WI everyday would be great. Is the monthly WI part of the BLE philosophy? Or is that something you imposed yourself? Okay...off to google "how to meditate"...Lol

Lora, I also would have been completely derailed by the cake in the past. It's amazing I've learned how to "rezoom." The once a month weighing idea is mine - people do all sorts of things in BLE, daily weighing, weekly, monthly, and some never weigh, just go by their clothes. And regarding meditation, I've done quite a bit of it with all different people and approaches (of course, right? I never stick to anything...). I am really liking Monique Rhodes these days. She has 10 minute meditations (all of them are) in a program called 10 Minute Mind (costs $10 a month). Every day she sends you a meditation in an email and you just click on it and do it. She did a special series for BLE and I thought I'd check and see what else she offers when my initial course was over. There's also an app (not connected to Monique) called Insight Timer. It's free, and you can choose from like 10,000 different meditations. I found it a bit overwhelming although I liked the price. Deepak Chopra also has some good meditations. I think you'll like doing it - start with the short ones - consistency is more important than duration and in the beginning sitting still is HARD.

Thanks Andi! What you're saying goes along exactly with what I've been reading. Start small, concentrate on breathing, if you find your mind wandering refocus on the breathing. I think I'll give it a shot, it surely can't hurt anything.

Well I drug my bootie out into the cold, clammy, foggy day and got to the fitness center for some time on the dreadmill. I only did about 20 minutes, but that's certainly better than nothing. I forgot to bring my ear buds, so couldn't listen to my pod cast, or I think I would have stayed on longer. I think I need to make myself a checklist. Lol

Lora and Andi, don't want you to be all alone here. I have about 2 minutes.
Lora, your gym was bigger than I was expecting! I was thinking the tiny kind of gym one of my friends has in her development up in the BErkshires. You really have been hit with a lot of crazy weather there. Love the idea of what your dinner was. Funny that I got a card from one of the supermarkets around here, they are giving a free bottle of Rao's sauce with a $35 order.
Andi, good job on the WL. It is a struggle no matter what. Hope you are on your way now to your DS's, and all goes well. Seems like you have been doing this a lot.
I had a busy day, but I think we found a new office to move to. It will cost us less than half what we are paying now, which is way too much.

Robin - awesome about the new office space. Savings like that goes right to the bottom line. I'd take a free bottle of Rao's any day...Haha. I think of my gym as small, but I'm used to the Metro YMCAs in ATL, mine was really big. It's actually a small house that a local Dr. used as his office space that has been converted to one big room with all of the equipment, and then 2 bathrooms off of that. You can see most of it behind me in that picture...Lol

Hi ROs....busy, busy day...went to my gym class...came home to change and head to my massage (after working on getting things ready for the family dinner tonight when YDD is here from Boston)...checked my phone quickly and saw that there was a message from my masseuse that she needed to cancel...it worked out great for me since I had so much to do. ODD needed help --both she and DSon were trying to reach me to see if I could pick up DGD. We picked her up from pre-school and headed to the airport. YIPPEE, YDD is home and her boyfriend is with her.. all the kids and grandkids here this evening... total chaos but fun. It is quiet now... and I need to get to bed.
Wow Andi - 137 is great. Good job hanging in there.
Lora - those pizza casseroles do sound yummy. I will look for that marinara sauce when our new Aldi's opens. Yeah for your loss too AND for getting to the fitness center!
Robin - the new office sounds great...
OK...off to bed...
