Many power and internet cuts yesterday. It hailed and hubby went out and worried he might slip and fall...he didn't. Might make soup for lunch...maybe lentil potato with some spinach...it is cold.
LYNN: Hooray for the last day of work! Can't wait to hear how your first day without work goes!
BEVERLY: Hope you had fun at the commissary!
CHERRY: I agree with you about the coffee and sometimes wonder what it is that makes one cup of coffee taste better when the beans are from the same jar.
PAM: Bet your dog was happy to have the cone off!

Good morning friends!!
Lynn, you have been paroled! You will feel like you are on vacation for the first few weeks. It will take about a month for you to fully realize that you don't ever have to go back!!! You will enjoy every day of it. Even the worst days of retirement are better than the best days at work.
Cathy, the trip to the commissary was goo, except for the fact that we were both exhausted by the time we got home & got everything unloaded. I still have a lot of canned goods, etc. to put away. But all round, it was a good day.
Cherry, I think sometimes, my coffee is not so good because I don't measure out just the right amount of ground coffee. I usually put in 4 scoops to make a full pot, sometimes, I think I can't even count to 4 . LOL. If I am making less than a full pot, then it is truly a guessing game.
Pam. I have heard the cone called "the collar of shame". LOL
It only has rained a few showers yesterday & supposed to o the same again today. They are calling for a heavier downpour on Sunday, with colder temps, we may even see a few snow flurries, just keep your fingers crossed that we don't get more heavy rain. As we traveled to the commissary yesterday, we passed over the Cumberland river. The river is at flood stage. The beautiful little parks beside of the river, where people come to picnic & walk are all under water. The water is half way up the light poles. Some homes near the river are flooded. We do not need any more rain for a while.
Everybody have a great weekend.

Good morning everyone. I went in for my appointment yesterday, got a few groceries, picked up a latte at the new Starbucks and came home. I drank part of the latte on the way home and then heated up the rest and enjoyed it after I got all my groceries put away.
There is a Starbucks in the hospital cafe, but the cafe closes at 1:30 now because they don't have the help so I just haven't been out there very often. I don't go out of my way to go there, and my appointments at the clinic and eye clinic are usually in the afternoon so I don't usually have time to pick one up. I'm really glad there is one closer to the downtown area that is open longer now. The new one in the grocery store is open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Today was my weigh-in day (at home) and after 3 weeks of maintaining, I gained a half a pound. I'm going to have to be more attentive so I can start losing again. It's not easy while on prednisone. I think it will help if I concentrate more on eating more veggies, a little less meat, and not always having a potato/rice or other grain with my meal. I expect I could cut back a little on whole grain bread too. We'll see what happens.
Have a nice day, beaches.

Hi beaches. Snow predicted this weekend so my main focus today is meal planning and making grocery list so I can go grocery shopping. Thatβs my focus today.
Hope everyone has a great day and keeps finding reasons to smile.
Cathy: Youβre so right. Alice is so happy not to have her cone any more. She is so relaxed.
