Gray, wet and cool the past few days...and today. I stayed up till 3am last night reading and slept till 8:30 this morning. My husband "worries" I might be dead and wants to check on him. I should leave him a note not to wake me on nights I stay up late. I wonder if a chalkboard somewhere in the kitchen is a good idea?
I am thinking about getting out the old WW exchange cookbooks that I have. I know that the 1984 exchange program worked and I also know that the original 123 points program worked...one or the other should be what I try now...with a vegetarian/vegan bent...maybe?
I need to clean. The Wednesday get-together is at my house and I need to come up with an easy menu AND have the house clean...so...cleaning this weekend makes sense as I am gone Tuesday and have a dental appointment Monday.
BEVERLY: My sister said that there has been bad weather everywhere. She is on high ground so safe from flooding but she said it has been bad in places. She says she will not complain, though, as for so many years it had been a drought. We have walls of mud sliding down to close the main freeway causing traffic snarls...and they can't fix it till after the rain stops.
CHERRY: The old WW program I started on (exchanges - perhaps quick start?) had only 2-3 breads in the first week and think it never got up to even four starchs in a week. It was much heavier on protein then the carb phase came in and they sort of equalized BUT there were definitely more calories in 5 servings of carb than in 5 servings of protein. Not sure which is actually better for the body...probably depends on the body. Glad you enjoyed the coffee!
PAM: I am sure that Alice must feel a bit like a person released from a...well...not sure what...maybe a halo device or a neck collar or something like that? I am glad she is alright. Stay safe and warm in the snow!
LYNN: I bet you are celebrating your retirement! Can't hear all about what you did the last day of work and what your plans for the future end up being

Good morning. Our newspaper yesterday had an article on all this cold. This February was the second coldest on record with an average temperature of 5 below zero. A third of the month was below zero (and the highs were barely above zero). The coldest was in 1936 with the average temp of 13.6 below. And it's not going to get any better for the next couple of weeks at least, if not longer. It makes me wonder if there will be any summer, but who knows.
This afternoon I'll be going in to town for Mass. I'm not going to do any more in town except get gas and talk to my grandson who works at the gas station.
Have a nice day, beaches.

Good morning dear Beaches,
Not much planned for today, Just church this afternoon. I think I am going to try my hand at a pot of meatball stew. Just thought it sounded good & I have some fresh ground beef. I haven't made it in yrs, we'll see how it comes out.
Cherry, the weather is absolutely crazy!! We are expecting more rain this weekend, we have not seen even one snowflake this whole winter!! I think it did snow one night a bit during the night & no one saw it. They say we may see a little tomorrow, mixed with all the rain. I think the whole jet-stream has moved to the north.
Lynn, I am anxious to find out how you are spending your first days of freedom.
Waving to everyone!! Have a great weekend.

Just lost everything as I am using my home computer now. Oh boy!
Snow today and we are going to a party tonight. It should be fun.
Right now I have a million things to do around the house, but may consider going back part time some time in the future...maybe.
I don't have to rush with the laundry as my time is my own now...haha.
Have a lovely day!

Chilly and gray. The predicted snow hasn’t materialized yet. Home from one more trip to the store and ready for the day. Aiming for another blue day.
