Plans for pasta tonight have changed! We were invited to a friend's house that lives here in our retirement community for baby back ribs. I was asked to bring a pasta salad which I'll prepare a skinny version. A few other couples that live here are going to be there also. Where the weather here is 'so cold and dreary' she wants to have a COOK IN lol.......there will be a lot of food there so I'll just have to be aware of my portions.
Take care, all!

Audrey I'm glad you and Bob had fun at the party and missed the heavy rainstorms.I'm happy your friend enjoyed her party so much.
Ann I'm glad you enjoyed time with friends last night and were able to crash early.I hope your wintery mix won't be as bad either.
Susi Your fur babies are well taken care of after you scrambled them eggs.I'm sorry about your wintery mess forecast. We will have freezing temps the next 3 days but at least no snow or ice.
MJ Stay warm today.
June I doubt there will be a walk today since our temps will go down steadily throughout the day and expecting freezing temps the next three days and since it will be rather breezy tomorrow we have decided to go to the grocery store this morning instead of tomorrow because Scooter doesn't like staying outside in the wind and doesn't like to stay inside with the cats anymore.LOL.She doesn't have thick fur so she gets cold very easily.Enjoy your day.
Have a great day everyone.

Audrey & Susi You both made me laugh. I just had a cute pictures in my mind. --Audrey w/ all the furry ones and her DH sawing logs. -- Susi w/ all the furry ones licking their lips after choking down on fluffy scrambled eggs.
Becky Hope that the grocery stores are not too crowded. Or that you slipped in and out before the bigger crowds came. Poor Scooter-- no happy medium.
Stay warm!
Ann Oh my... your plan went sidewise fast! R would have said yes to the ribs in a heartbeat! Well, you will have pasta, but not how you expected.

So........
DH has a head cold w/ sneezing and coughing. Have given him Ginger Ale and a dose of Coricidan. Likely to make a store run for cough medicine.
Will see if there is anything else that he wants.

I have planned a surprise birthday lunch for Nora for her 4th birthday tomorrow. I have Mardi Gras beads from our cruise and chocolate leprachauns from See's Candy. I bought a small chocolate cake from Trader Joes and sparkle pink icing in a tube from the grocery store to write her name and draw flowers. I have candles and paper products. After my meeting tomorrow morning I will pick up a tiny bouquet in a bottle from Whole Foods and then get tacos or quesadillas from the nearby Mexican restaurant depending on what their mom or the babysitter thinks I should buy. I have candles too. She gets home from daycare at 1:15 so I have time to make this happen. I also have candles and a pack of matches.

Audrey - I too am doing some planning for the week. Way to plan around your challenges this week. Glad you had fun dancing! Glad the rain wasn't too bad. June - Good plan. Hope your parents are doing as well as possible. Becky - Enjoy church and whatever happens after. It's a shame farmers can't just be farmers any more. The dairy farm was not enough either. The current generation (my age) will be the last to run it as they never had kids. Wow on the jackal Cathy. Glad your kitty had a hiding place. At least you enjoyed your friends company Ann Enjoy your not so much day and the race MJ. Spin, Aldi's, BJ's, church, stopped at Cheryl's to pick up LO for Charlie, Verizon for a power bank to take to Las Vegas. Had a disaster last year with my phone running out of a charge wyhen I needed to get an Uber ride. I have a new phone but this is just cheap peace of mind when I am out an about. I'm making an old Green Chile and Cheese Cornbread WW recipe and Skinnytaste Easy Crustless Spinach and Feta Pie. I'll split both with my sister. Roast some poblanos for chili rellenos, make a small black bean/corn/red onion/cilantro salad. I am bad about fruit so I have a pineapple to cut up and bought a pint of blueberries for ricotta stuffed french toast. Tonight is loin lamb chops with the Skinnytaste recipe and a small Greek salad w/ov. Pasta with pesto clam sauce will probably be dinner tomorrow night with salad and light garlic bread, arctic char on Tuesday. Wednesday will be meatless so likely a frittata I have in the freezer over arugula w/evoo and lemon; avocado toast with the black bean salad for lunch and a tuna sandwich for dinner after my workshop.

Audrey All those extra little touches will make a wonderful surprise party for Nora. She is one lucky little girl. So wonderful that you live close and can make these memories together.
Susi IMpressive planning ! You really have a firm grasp on what you will eat this week. Your menu packs a lot of flavor and nutrition. My mentor's dairy farm no longer is one. I have two of their small milk bottles as keepsakes. GOne are the Morgan horses and dairy cattle that they proudly raised and sold. LocalAmish rent some acreage for farming. I think that last year was the last season for the family maple syrup making. I will have to ask Agnes's daighter if the rented out their maple syrup operation. Given the lan's close promixity to Cleveland, it will soon be sold for development. An end of an era, for sure.

Today I’ll keep warm and be mindful. Meals have been planned and will be tracked. We’ll definitely be enjoying hot minestrone soup and tea. Aiming for blue today.

June The grocery store was crowded but not as it would have been after the churches let out.Hopefully we bought enough to last through Tuesday anyway.
Audrey I'm sure Nora will love her surprise birthday party.
Susi We actually didn't make it to church. We decided to go grocery shopping instead because they would be too busy this afternoon with our expected freezes the next three days.It is a shame a farmer can't just be a farmer.Even my DFIL had to work the early years of his life somewhere else instead of being a full time farmer. It has helped pay off quite a number of bills though so it helps.Your meals always sound so good and you are an excellent cook.
Pam Stay warm.

Pam That's a good combo for a cold winter day. Stay warm. Keep inthe blue dot zone.
Becky I had wondered how mobbed your local grocery store would be after church let out. I would have made the same choice!
We got a quick snowfall. Fell in soft, big flakes at a steady clip. Hope that's it.
Good that you can stay off the icy roads now.
