This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning ROs. Calm before the storm here tonight. Looks like we'll get around 8 inches but not clear even now when this will start. Supposed to clear out by the morning so hopefully I won't have to close offices, may just need a delayed opening. I will go to yoga this morning and do cooking this afternoon. Dinner either out or at home.
Having my first mug of decaf now, slept pretty well last night. Going to meditate as soon as I finish my coffee and will check back in shortly.

Good morning Andi and ATF.
Andi - Wow! 8 inches seems a lot of snow to get in a single day. But then sometimes we go years in between seeing a single flake. So maybe my perspective is was off. Are you food prepping for the week today? What's on your menu for the week?
I'm not sure what we're doing today. We're supposed to have a 100% chance of the stuff and then temps drop to the 20s tonight. Because that's just what all the flowers and trees that have started blooming will love <sigh>.
I saw the cutest crochet pattern last for a beanie last night, but of course it uses a bulky yarn that I don't have anything close even to. My closest yarn store would be WM, so 15 miles away. I don't know if I'll want to get out in the weather today for yarn, or if it's better to wait until next week...in which case I'd probably forget all about it. I guess we'll see which way that wind is blowing when DH gets us and talk about plans for the day. Also I'll be doing laundry, and possibly a little food prep...as in making individual burger patties and getting them into the freezer (not a big deal). Also sometime today we'll watch A Star Is Born. We picked it up as well as Bohemian Rhapsody at the RedBox yesterday, so those will both be due back in the machine this evening.
Well, not much else from here. I'm just sitting and enjoying a cup of Maple Bacon flavored coffee I picked up at Aldi yesterday. It doesn't really taste specifically like maple or bacon. But it is very much like the pecan roasted coffee that we get at our little breakfast place in ATL. So kind of like drinking a good memory. Haha. .
Have a great day everyone. I'm sure I'll BBL.

Hi Everyone, First, Jana, I am thinking of you and your sister and family and am hoping for a turn around and improvement in your sister's health. I am planning to go to the gym for a bit if I get myself moving. I also want to get to the pharmacy. I should have ran in there yesterday after shopping for my friend as it was up in her direction but was beat already. If not, I can still wait a day or two but it would mean going there after work. Ugh! So will try to get there today. Especially since I will be dealing with two new kids I dont know. I am praying for a snow day but not sure that it will happen. I think I have been hearing Phila only 1-3 inches by the end. Not really enough to cancel maybe but maybe a delayed opening. We are going out for the show but not sure yet about dinner after. I would think my sister would not want to drive home and I know if I was going to drive I would definitely be driving home after the show. I bought some salmon so I will have that if we dont do dinner out. Lora, could you put the link for that pizza casserole? I might want to try it with some possible changes but I'd like to see the recipe. Thanks. Ok,have a great day!!

Lora, more rain for you??? Oh my goodness. I really enjoyed A Star is Born, loved Lady Gaga in the role and seeing her without all the makeup and artificial hair gave me a totally different view of her. Yes, am prepping for the week. I'm making the nonnompaleo Damn Fine Chicken again since I had thought I'd make it for DD but it didn't work out that way - I took the thighs out of the freezer last night. Am also making my eggplant marinara dish. I bought a cabbage but will likely cook it later in the week, probably with curry. Besides the burgers, what are you making this week? I ate one of my favorite breakfasts this morning (my favorite meal of the day on BLE) - a Norwegian breakfast roll made of oats, cottage cheese and eggs, split and toasted, half with PB and half with a slice of cheese. And 6 ounces of strawberries on the side. Plus coffee with cashew milk.
Janet, the storm seems again to be more of a southern one with NJ, southern NY and southern CT getting the brunt. But they change the forecast every few hours so who knows. Hope you get a delay tomorrow. What show will you see tonight if the weather cooperates?
I was meditating this morning and realized with a jolt that I hadn't paid my credit card bill. Not a good way to use my meditation time! Anyway, it's paid now. Sheesh.

Andi - yes, more rain. The river and lakes just crested Thursday from the previous storms and flood waters were receding. But there were still some low lying roads that are still blocked off, so not sure how much impact more rain will have, but it can't be good. We have burgers w/salad or a cauli-rice dish, Aldi had some corned beef (without any added sugar in the brine) for $1.99/lb, so couldn't walk away from that - so corned beef & cabbage in the crock pot is on the menu. Chicken wings w/side salad, probably a night where we have breakfast for dinner, and then probably a left overs night - as we should be able to get several meals out of the corned beef. Your breakfast sounds really satisfying and delicious!
Janet - the breakfast casserole doesn't have a set recipe, it's just something I throw together, but here's the basic idea:
Brown ground beef, ground turkey, ground pork or sausage and spread in the bottom of a baking dish, spread a small amount of "no sugar added" pasta or pizza sauce (for 1 lb. of meat I use about 1/2 cup of sauce, but you could use more or less to your liking), then top with mozzarella cheese, and then add desired pizza toppings: pepperoni, peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives.. whatever your personal favorites are. Bake at 350 until heated through and it's bubbly. Then you can add a little bit of grated parmesan if you like. Serve and enjoy. That's it. Super simple and you can use any pizza toppings that you like.

Good morning all.
I am hoping to get motivated today to finally get some of the organizing and purging done that I wanted to do on my long weekend.
Latest update on DS. She isn't septic anymore. Her current surgeon has sent her case information out to all the large research hospitals in NC hoping a specialist will be willing to take over her care. Fingers crossed. Right now she needs a lot of surgery and she needs to get well enough to go into surgery.
Susie I saw on the news with all the rain we have had, the James River is the highest it has been in 10 years.

Jana - glad to hear that DS is no longer septic. Good heavens, this roller coaster is just an awful experience. I can't even imagine the turmoil this whole nightmare has been for her, and for all of you who make up her support system. I hope you have just the day today that you are needing/wanting - whether that be relaxing/vegging or getting all of your household tasks knocked out.

Good afternoon. I canceled my dinner plans and of course the sun is still shining and it's almost 40 degrees here. It's supposed to be bad later though so I'm happier not doing a huge amount of driving this evening and being anxious about the snow.
Jana, I'm so glad DS is not septic anymore! Hope a specialist turns up to take her case and soon. Also hope you get your organizing done. I am assuming you're not headed to NC just yet?
Lora, my DN scored an avocado at Aldi for 49 cents. Amazing! She also got me my favorite marinara sauce from there. And blueberries. So many good things.
Having a restless day again foodwise. It was so easy for weeks and weeks and now each day is challenging. I will go make some coffee now.

Good Afternoon...cheez...I had a candy binge last night...just kept popping those peanut M & Ms into my mouth. OK...a new day
We picked up DD and her DBF and took them to lunch and then to the airport...now back home and are expecting friends who visited one of our fav wineries and picked up our tri-annual 4 bottle pack
Andi - oh dear -- DD said they are expecting about 6 inches in Boston...they are a little worried about their flight
Lora - I think that "cutest crochet" beanie is in your future
Janet - sure hope the new kids are VERY cooperative and sweet
Jana - thank goodness DS is no longer septic...hoping she can get strong enough for all the surgery in her future. I did put in a prayer request for her at church so a lot of praying for her will be going on.... We drove over the James several times the last 2 days and it was really high and swift
Sure hope I can keep myself under control with eating, etc this evening...DFs are about to stop with a bottle of bubbly!

Well we ran out to return the Redbox movies and DH said since we were out we might as well pop over to see about the bulky yarn, so we went to the small town on the opposite side of the mountain than yesterday. I got what I needed, so can't wait to tackle it tomorrow. On the drive there and back we crossed several sections of the lake (which is fed by the Tennessee River), boy that water is super high and very rough. There were boats out on it fishing, but I don't know how. They were doing a lot of pitching and rolling.
Andi - WOW! that is an Avocado bargain. I thought I did pretty good yesterday getting them for 68 cents each. haha.
Susie - enjoy your evening at home with friends.

Jana, I hope that your DS is able to get the expert help she needs to help her get better. I discovered today that the gym I have been going to recently has shut down permanently without any advance warning. I went over there after going to the pharmacy first. There were no cars in the parking lot. At this time of the mornning the places on a Sunday arent open yet but they were supposed to be open at 7 am. At first I thought it had to do with the upcoming weather. They have a face book page and that is where I saw that they said they had to close effectively immediately on Friday. I wonder if something happened. Anyway, I checked online on their portal and it said that the membership was cancelled. They had just took a payment out for the upcoming month. I wonder if I will get any refund back. There are other locations but they are farther away plus since I dont know why they closed so suddenly I would be worried about a different location closing too. So its back to square one. And I had been thinking I was going to renew for next year. I guess not, right? It was convenient and close. There are other gyms nearby. This was reasonable cost and even tho lately I havent gone to the zumba class I liked the instructor and the girls in the class. Lora, thanks for the pizza casserole meal ideal. I may try with ground beef. I like olives too so would try it someday. I am hoping to stay home tommorow. I think that the probability is high that we will. I am pretty sure the schools will be closed. I think we may have to do another training or two unti they say the agency is closed. My friend's husband is still in the hospital. May be at least a few days. Andi, the show we went to was this afternoon. We left during the intermission as my sister wanted to leave before it really got started. The show was about Barnum and how he got started with his circus idea and it became a big attraction. We will maybe do lunch before Passover since we didnt do dinner together. Ok, good night!
