This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning everyone and Brrrrrr!
Well, it looks like the rain threats have moved on for the moment (thankfully) and the cold has set in for a few days. Right now it's 30, feels like 23. Tonight/tomorrow morning will be worse. Also they're saying it's the coldest weather of the new year. How messed up is that?
So did any of you get your predicted snow?
Not much on the plan today but to stay in and stay warm. I have a load of towels to do and some food prep to accomplish. I have all the stuff to make Lily a batch of dog food. She's not to the end of her batch in the freezer yet, but it won't hurt to get ahead of that a little. And other than a few little household chores I'll work on my new crochet project. I laugh at myself because it says that it's a 30 minute project....ummmm, sure. I suspect I'll start, pull it out, start, pull it out several times and then it might still take me all day. I'll be looking to work in a meditation session. I forgot to do it yesterday (but did work in a couple of naps...haha).
Janet - so sorry to hear that our convenient gym closed, and that they have a month of your membership that you won't be able to use. I'd definitely be calling that company and demanding a refund. If they try to tell you that you can use another location, just tell them that actually you can't. The other locations are not at all convenient for you, and you want a refund. Good luck.
I hear the coffee pot calling. Stay safe, stay warm and I'll check back later.

Good morning Lora and ATF. Yes, we got 6 or 8 inches and I while my driveway has been plowed, I still need to dig my car out. Heavy wet stuff too, have to be careful not to do any more damage to my back. I cooked up a storm this morning, got up early because I had to listen to all the weather and traffic reports. We opened all of our offices as usual and I've gotten a small flood of call-outs. People have gotten really spoiled - the snow stopped hours ago and they should have gotten up earlier to shovel, but I can't be in charge of that. I made some Swiss chard with onions, steamed beets, roasted asparagus, and made my eggplant thing. I shouldn't have to do anything besides heat things up for the next few days.
I have to meditate now myself this morning. Lunch is already made and packed but I have to get ready for work and have breakfast. Busy morning.
Regular work day for me. Would like to go to the gym tonight but we're going back into the deep freeze for a few days and I don't know if I have it in me.
Good luck with the crochet project Lora and sorry you're dealing with cold now as well. At least your rain and our snow has moved out of here for now.
Have a great day all.

Good morning everyone.
I have tons of emails and work to catch up on after being out a couple of days. I will be busy but it is ok.
I did finally find some motivation yesterday and I went through my closet and purged a bunch of clothes and got all my new things hung up. I honestly could probably go through the closet and get rid of more.
Susie thank you for adding us to your prayer list. All prayers and well wishes are greatly appreciated.
On Saturday it will be 2 months that my DS has been in the hospital. Right now there is not an end in sight. We are still waiting for one of the university hospitals to accept her.
Lora I have always wanted to learn to crochet. I signed up for a free class once but it got cancelled and I never looked into it again. I am glad it is not raining there anymore but sorry that it is so cold. I think we are going to get a couple of days of no rain here too. I really, really need to get in my flower bed and weed it. Everything is so wet and it is so cold that I would really like for things to dry out some.
Andi good job on all the food prep. Sorry for the snow. I hope you do not have too many workers call out.
Janet so sorry about the gym membership Hope you can find another gym that is close for you.
Amanda hope you enjoyed your Disney trip.
Over the weekend DH and I visited several tattoo shops. Since I am not getting my surgery this year I decided I am getting another tattoo. I have an appointment scheduled for 3/17. I am going to do a flower piece in black and gray with one ladybug in color. This is a tribute of sorts to my grandmothers. They both loved flowers. My mom has always said that when she sees a ladybug she feels like it is a sign from her mother that my grandmother is watching over her. I am excited about the tattoo and looking forward to getting it started. It will probably take several sessions to get it completed.
I guess I better get to work.
Waving to all - hope you have a great Monday.

Good news - DS has been accepted as a larger University Hospital in NC. UNC Chapel Hill. This is good news in more than one way. This is a larger hospital and has more specialist working there. It is also a research type of hospital. AND it is 2 hours closer than me driving to Charlotte every few weeks. Right now they are trying to work on transportation. She could possibly be moved today or sometime tomorrow. I just really, really hope they will be able to figure out how to make her better.

Oh Jana! I think this is tremendously positive news!!! I know DS still has a very long recovery road ahead of her, but this acceptance must make everyone very hopeful for the best going forward. Andi - Wow! You're a prepping and cooking machine! I hope digging out your car was not too strenuous for your back, and that you didn't encounter any problems on your drive. Well here's a bit of a twist on our my weather. It's 31 and feels like 23, so not much change from 5am and I've been seeing little snow flurries off and on since about 9 am. There is zero accumulation, but its certainly blowing around in the air. I suppose things like this come with the territory. #MountainLife Well the 30 minute crochet project took me 4 hours. But I only ripped it all out and started over once. Ha! It's a little sloppy, as I haven't yet mastered a steady tension on this new bulky yarn, and it's also a little large for my noggin, but I have plenty of yarn so might attempt another one tomorrow and take a couple stitches out of each row to make it a little smaller.

Hello Dear Friends....I did not get to the gym Sat, Sun, or today... and only got there 2 times last week....I am slipping. I am trying to be diligent about reducing my food today...I was up a little more today. My DDIL's sister passes away yesterday... She had been ill all of her life with various problems and had a short life expectancy; it has caused serious distress for her and her family.
I went to see a different opthalmologist today and low and behold he told me to get a pair a frames with no lens and wear them. HA - I have done that, but feel like a goofball. I told him that's what I have been telling people I need OR really glasses with just a clear lens maybe with the "reader" portion in the bottom...so guess what...he wrote me a RX for that. He also told me that he thinks the black veil I had over the top of my right eye 2 weeks ago was a weird migraine thing, but that if I ever get that again and it lasts longer than an hour (mine was about 5-10 minutes) to get to the hospital because it could be a stroke pre-curser. He also said it could be stress.
Jana - First of all...YIPPEE for the news about DS . Also, good job in purging those clothes
Andi - yeah for all the food prep - you are all set. P L E A S E do not hurt yourself shoveling....is there anyone around that you can pay to shovel you out when you get these snowfalls?
Lora - Your 30 minute crochet project that took 4 hours sounds like something that I would do...except it would take me several hours a day for a week - ha!
Janet - I hope there is another gym, where you can use that membership because I would not count on a refund.

Hi Everyone, Jana, glad that the university hospital is going to accept her and that it is somewhat closer to you. As far as the gym maybe I can call the company that was withdrawing the money and talk to them. It is the same company that my other club had before they had the fire. I looked in the portal and it said that my membership was cancelled which if I wanted to rejoin another location I'd probably have to do the whole process over. I dont though because who knows if their other clubs will be affected in the future. There is another club nearby but they pressure and call you and you have to put more money down than what I have for this one. They have a pool but it is smaller than the other one. I am not going to totally rule it out yet despite these things because I need to continue to work out and I do better if I go someplace than try on my own. I had been thinking of renewing too at the gym I have been going to. It met my needs. If I have to lay out more money to join then I may have to wait a bit and see if I get a refund. I read reviews and it seems most are favorable so its a possibility and still close to me too. In Philadelphia we hardly got any( an inch)😣 so no stay at home day and had to be at work normal time. There was a 2 hr delay tho so I had time to accomplish some things before the kids came into the class. I had 8 but not the two new ones. They will probably start tommorow and I may be a few minutes late because I have to go get my lab work done for my appointment with the nephrologist next week. It will probably not be an easy day tommorow. I have four parent volunteeers to read Dr. Suess stories to the kids this week. I hope they keep their commitment to read. They havent done much in other ways except for bringing in stuff for parties. Have a great remainder of the night.
