I am tired today...it has been busy the last three days so today I just want to sit and do nothing! I looked and the Greek Orthodox Lent begins the 11th of March and ends April 27. I don't do lent but was curious.

Good morning. The Greek Orthodox church follows a different calendar than we do. We, meaning everyone - not just the Roman Catholic church. We follow the Gregorian calendar, as do most places in the world. The Greek Orthodox follow the old Julian calendar. The time of Easter is figured differently when using those separate calendars. I had to Google the differences between the two churches, and it is interesting. The split between the church happened in 1015 and was mostly because of the difference in the translation of the scriptures defining the Holy Trinity.
The low last night was -8. It is now 0 with the high being near 17. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be about 29. I'm going to run into town this afternoon and pick up a prescription and get a few groceries. I did manage to get my exercise in yesterday. Today I'm going to do it before I go in to town.
Have a nice day, Beaches.

Good morning Beaches!
DH has a niece-in-law that is Greek Orthodox. I know that she observes Christmas later than we do. She is such a sweetheart, that she observes both days, so as not to leave anyone out. We went to the wedding when she married DH's nephew. They were married in Boston & I will never forget the party that they had. It was the most amazing wedding that I have ever been to. I know that her grandmother was widowed many, many years ago. To this day, she still wears the black mourning clothes. She even had that on at the wedding. Very interesting.
Cherry, glad that it is warming up where you are, Spring is right around the corner, in fact, we change the clocks this very weekend!!
Hello, Cathy, Lynn & Pam, hope you are having a great Thursday .
I have to get showered & dressed, I am going with BIL & SIL to the hospital. SIL is having surgery on her hand. It will be a long day. I am going to sit with BIL so that he won't be there alone all day.
Talk later

Hello all!!
I'm back from the dentist and coffee at a friend's house. She couldn't wait for me to retire so we could do things together. We bought cheap tickets for a Broadway matinee show next month. We are going to see the Ferryman. Everyone month we are going to see a show...I hope we continue.
Very cold here, but will warm up more toward Sunday when we have our parade. It looks like rain, though, but we will survive.
Have a great day///stay warm!!

Hi beaches.
A quiet day on the schedule today. Hope to get some reading done today. Curled up under my blanket is a good way to keep warm. Wishing each of you a time to relax and smile.
