Happy birhday, Kathy.
Shot went fine, dryer and vent to roof cleaned just before and DH will fetch Greek food later as our favorite place made pasticcio.
Pollen count is over ten and now includes mainly mulberry which us like super ragweed. Sure feeling it. Cloudy and cool weather all week.
Dog will get short walk, then I will get into my comphy fleece kaftan and read my library book.

Good Afternoon Chicks and thanks for the start Chele. Chele - how are you feeling? We had 7 inches of snow last weekend and with temps in the teens we still have mounds all around the neighborhood. Really glad that Iggy's interview went so well and was with someone he knew! We are up to the 40s today and are supposed to be mid 40 tomorrow I believe. Rain, sleet and/or snow Sat. into Sun. morning. St. Crazy has been especially brutal this week. Too many nights not getting home until after 8:pm and back to back meetings with a Magnet survey for nursing next week a back stabbing supervisor to once again deal with and 97% occupancy. Linda - lovely parrot picture you painted. I have been using Penetrex for awhile now and although it seems to help, I don't know that it's much more effective for me than any other analgesic cream. How's Micki doing? Yikes on the pollen count and very happy to hear that the shot went well! Becky - how is the back doing today? Did the temps move up for you? We've been in full out winter clothes all week with piles of snow up home. Kathy - HAPPY BIRTHDAY young lady!! Wishing you a wonderful day and all the best!! Wow on you being in the 50s this week! How did it feel to not get up this week for work? Did you think you were on vacation or is retirement beginning to sink in? Karen - how is the foot doing and how is the other foot doing? I guess in other words; how are the feets doing ? Snow in OBX??? Isn't there a law against that??? Doesn't it figure that when we decide to go early this year the weather is all topsy turvy? How are Dale and Arya doing? The left knee (most recently injured) is coming along but painful at the meniscus area. The right knee has been acting up on the lateral side now just to torture me a bit more. Today I had a sleeve and brace on one knee and a copper sleeve on the other. Week has been brutal; not just for me but for many of us here. My tired is tired! I wanted to at least stop in and check on all of you. I have been a zombie by the time I get home in the evening; making something for Gary, taking Wally out and then trying to get to bed without my head in high gear! My thanks and admiration to a group of wonderful women who are always supportive and caring!! Have a nice evening and ciao for now~

Thanks for the start, Chele. Hope you're feeling better every day. I hope Iggy has good news by now. I guess you'll be laying low for the weekend. How are the appetites? How is your weather supposed to be for the next couple of days?
Liz, great to have you check in. Sorry you've had yet another brutal week. Hopefully the weather will stabilize by May while you're at OBX. Sorry the knees continue to be problematic. It doesn't sound like you've had much relief from the shots.
Fleece kaftan sounds cozy, Linda, but so un-AZ-like. Do the cold temps continue for you? Sorry allergies are running rampant in your part of the country. Which library book did you get?
Kathy, got any plans for your big day? I presume DM and DS will take you out for lunch or dinner. Where do you want to go? What will you do tomorrow in lieu of grocery shopping? Is it getting warmer there? Please send some our way because we are in the mid 40s right now.
What's up in Cen TX today, Becky? How's the back doing? Did you figure out why it was painful?
Here it is Friday and the master gardener president still hasn't sent me anything for the newsletter, and the deadline was Wednesday. I went through it today and pulled out all the "saved" sections I am waiting for and created a version 2. So if I don't get anything by tomorrow morning, I have a version to send without her input. I hate that, but everyone gets about a month's notice because the deadline for the next newsletter is printed in the current one. We have had yet another rainy day here and are expecting the same over the weekend. Dale was planning to go to the NC mountains to get the standup paddleboard he found on Craigslist but the seller hasn't gotten back to him, so we think it might have been sold. My foot will appreciate his not going several hours away. I did get a pair of Birkenstock Gizeh's delivered today that I think are going to be perfect for my healing feet. I'll just have to be extra careful that nobody gets close enough to step on either foot.
Happy Weekend to some of my favorite women!

Linda I'm glad your shot went well.I hope it helps.
Chele Are you feeling any better?
Liz You are still having crazy cold weather I see.I'm sorry work has been so brutal still. My back is hurting right now.I don't know if it is actually hurting or it's just tired from my walk.Yea we went from mornings in the teens to 85 today.Last thing I will do is complain about is a warm day in March though.I have the ceiling fan on right now.I'm with you on the Penetrex.I can't seem to find the right cream for my arthritis. My knee hurt between the house and the gate but it didn't hurt at all on our country road.We are expecting a little rain tonight into tomorrow morning and then it will taper off until Monday and Tuesday when we may be having thunderstorms. Thanks to you also for being so supportive and caring.
Poor Scooter had a trauma(for her)this morning. She always likes to chase a cat(no matter which one)off the top of the cat condo. This morning she tried to chase KK off of it and KK slapped her on her nose.Scooter whined and barked at her.So she must have made contact. It was so funny.Scooter needs to realize KK is in a terminal bad mood.
Karen How are the feets doing as Liz called them?

Karen We must have cross posted. My back is hurting in the area where my spine is curved today. It may just be tired from my walk in this warm day we have been having. It's a little breezy which felt good when I walked. We made a quick trip to town to the feed store and Walmart.Tomorrow we will go to HEB to stock up for the weekend. It has to be frustrating when people don't meet the deadlines for the newsletter.I hope nobody steps on either foot.

Linda, the pollen seems worse than normal this year. Comfy fleece caftan and library book sounds like a good plan. Liz, good to hear from you, but sorry that you had such a brutal week. Wish I could send you some of our warmer weather. I can't believe how much snow you've had and that it's even all the way to the OBX. The OBX should be nice by May and I'm sure you're counting down the days. Chucking at the question on Karen's feets! This still feels like a vacation, so I don't think retirement has really sunk in yet. I would've been off today due to my birthday and the "off" Friday, so I think maybe next Monday will definitely feel different. Hope you are home by now and can have a nice relaxing dinner. Karen, I'm really having a lazy day today. DS and DBIL went out of town for the weekend, so we'll do something for my birthday next weekend. I told them last weekend that we could wait since we just had the retirement celebration. Although it would be nice to have them take me out once a week I don't think that's going to happen. I probably will have dinner with DM sometime this weekend. She gave me a piece of cake as I was leaving her house yesterday, so I've saved it for my birthday treat. It's getting warmer here way too fast and the AC came on this afternoon. They're saying a high of 89 on Sunday, so I will gladly give you 20 degrees of that! I'll even take some of your rain. It looks like we'll get another cool spell starting on the 17th if that forecast holds up. Waiting on people to send you their inputs for the newsletter has to be frustrating. I had that happen on my way out of work on my last day when that guy sent me some inputs on something as I was leaving! Hope the Birkenstocks are comfortable for you. Chele, hope you're starting to feel better. Is it getting any warmer or are the cold temps hanging around? Becky, that's quite a swing in temperatures! We rarely get as cold as you've been, so don't usually have that big of a difference in lows and highs. Hope the back isn't hurting too bad tonight. Too funny on Scooter and KK. Hopefully, Scooter will get the message and leave KK alone in her condo. Thanks again for all the birthday wishes and have a great evening!

Kathy and Becky, I am amazed (and jealous!) at your hot weather. I hope that's not a preview of how the summer will be for both of you. I just hope it's been cool enough here to kill of most of the ticks.
What can I say about the feets, Liz, except that I wish they would heal up more quickly than they apparently are. It's only been 16 days on the left one and he said 3 weeks. But the right one still isn't totally healed and that has been 6 weeks and he said 3 weeks. I could wear a shoe on that one if I had to. Dale's marathon is next weekend, so I have to get healed up enough to take Arya out when she needs to go. Hoping for lots of healing this coming week. Seeing doc on Monday.
Kathy, what kind of cake did DM give you? I have been in the mood for tiramisu for a few weeks now and was surprised that I couldn't find even a small one at Publix either of the last 2 times I have been there. I am also hoping the "Birkies" will be a winner. I got the cheaper EVA ones just to see, but if they work well I'll start shopping around for the more expensive leather model. It may be summer before I will be able to wear any of my Chacos.
I'm really sorry about your back, Becky. Is there anything you can do? Does heat help any? I remember your saying it hurts to ride in Kenneth's truck, but if you're going to the feed store, I imagine that's what you'll be riding in. Take care of yourself
Lady Vols got knocked out of the SEC tournament today, so there is no guarantee they will be chosen for the NCAA for the first time in the history of the tournament.I may do a load of laundry tomorrow because I'm almost out of bras. That could be the extent of my activity.

Liz, my knees ache in sympathy just hearing that.
I use Penetrex too...works better after a consistent couple days as they instruct. Bought Teds Brain stuff just to try.
The book is a bestselling mystery, “Where the Crawdads Sing”, set on the marshes of North Carolina, it goes back and forth starting with 1969 murder and another situation 1952 until the two come together. Sad story in most of it. I figured it out earlier. well written by a nonfiction writer who is a nature studier.
