Thanks all for the vegetable discussion in Tuesday's thread. I was reminded to get more variety in my frozen cache of vegetables. Beverly, thanks for the idea of roasting frozen vegetables. I tried frozen green beans a few years ago and didn't have a lot of luck - I'll give some different kinds a try. That did remind me that I bought a couple bags of these a couple weeks ago and have not tried them yet - pictsweetfarms.com/vegetables/segment/vegetables-for-roasting/They are supposed to work well for roasting. The promotional calendar at work lists March as "national nutrition month" and March 13 as "registered dietitian day". Have you consulted with a dietitian or another healthful lifestyle professional? Did you find it helpful? And/or is there any sort of healthful lifestyle professional you'd like to talk to or work with to help reach your goals?

Have you consulted with a dietitian or another healthful lifestyle professional? Did you find it helpful? Only people that I have consulted are WW leaders and friends...no dieticians...lots of books and online resources
And/or is there any sort of healthful lifestyle professional you'd like to talk to or work with to help reach your goals? There is one who is the daughter of a friend an din the business BUT I don't think she has information that I don't already know...I just need to apply myself. I kind of hate the idea of giving someone money when I know what to do already without paying...just need to do it.

I have not consulted anybody, but I've read and learned enough to know what is healthy and not healthy and the best foods for good health. Eating until just satisfied helps with weight loss.

I have never consulted any professional dietitians, only all the drs that I have ever been to in my life who told me that I needed to lose weight, they always sent me home with a bunch of pamphlets, etc. explaining whatever diet they were pushing at the time. I have had great support from WW leaders & friends. I wouldn't mind talking to a professional, to see if they have any suggestions that might improve my all round health.

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, in a place far away, yes, I did. He came VERY highly recommended by people who went to him for numerous kinds of health issues, not weight loss. I saw him for a number of months (have zero recollection what he charged). I stopped seeing him when he stopped consulting (he was writing a book or something) and never missed him after that... The one thing I remember is that he told me NEVER to mix carbs with proteins, so, no sandwiches with meat inside, and no dinners with the equivalent of meat and potatoes... I have no memory of how long I followed that particular "rule" and haven't thought about it for years until today's topic...

I haven't ever consulted a dietitian or other professional, but like others, I hate to pay someone to tell me what I already know.
Holly, that sounds like the food combining diet that was very popular in the 80s (maybe ?) You looked at a diagram and found what foods could or couldn't be eaten in the same meal.

Other than WW, I haven't met or consulted with anyone about diet, healthful living. One of the local grocery stores has a dietitian on staff. They will give free grocery store tours to show what to shop for - for your specific questions - like low-salt or things like that. One of those things I've always thought of doing, but have not! They also provide more in depth advice for a fee.

Thanks for a great week Judy. I’ve never talked to a nutritionist. When I do what I know how to do in terms of following WW, I know it works.
