Hi all, Crazy day in here. Had a kid naked for about 2 hours. When playing with the front wasn't enough I got an up close view of him inspecting his behind!! Lifted his legs in the air, stuck in two fingers and what he pulled out was NOT a plum! I think I need my head examined to keep doing this! Still not having a good reaction to the Gabapentin. I feel like I've got the flu. I have body aches and pains all over. I'm struggling to just function. Crazy brain fog. The Dr. said to give it another week, not to increase it like planned for Saturday. She said I could try cutting it in 1/2 but it's an actual capsule so not sure how I could do that. I guess I'll just push through for a little longer. If I can just keep my students clothed

While I think points plus is a great plan because of the GHGs for some reason I get hungier on it and I think it is because I am used to the point discount the original smart points gives me. I end up using more points because I eat more protein. I also like my carbs so I am kinda torn between the two plans since I lost on both plans. When you refer to “I end up eating more points because I eat more protein,” are you referring to the PointsPlus plan or SmartPoints? I ask because protein gives an even greater discount to protein than SmartPonts does. For example, 32 calories and 8 grams of protein (i.e., 32 grams of protein) costs 0 PointsPlus values but 1 SmartPoints value.

I’m in. Lots of blowing snow right now. Actually this has shut things down in the Denver area. Luckily we cancelled appts earlier this week. Relaxing today. Keep safe and warm.

zazzles the only WW dessert recipe I made other than pumpkin fluff was meringue cookies with mini Chocolate chips and /or mint extract. The others were a waste of effort. You can google low sugar banana bread/muffins and find better recipes. Oh, Audrey, I could give you recipes for WW desserts from the mid 70s that would destroy your appetite. Try chocolate brownies made from gelatin, diet Shasta cream soda, nonfat milk powder, and chocolate flavoring! And you’re right, I could search out lower sugar breads and muffins but my point was that I shouldn’t be forced to in order to follow a WW program. I guess my revulsion to SmartPoints and Freestyle has to do with WW setting themselves up as my “punishing parent.” I don’t need one of those.

I was up late last night because we were finishing a Netflix series called "Secret City". Glad you like it. The second season gets even more complicated.

Good afternoon all.I'm in.This morning was cool and rainy and this afternoon is 77 and beautiful.I went from jeans and long sleeves to capris, short sleeves and flip flops.LOL. We are getting a little cooler maybe tonight but it isn't spring yet after all. zazzles For lunch I normally have 3-4 oz grilled chicken breast tenders. On PP 4 oz is 3 PP where on SP it is 2 SP.I normally eat pork or beef for dinner and both of those have maybe one more PP than I would get with the original SP. When I lost on PP I never went over my daily points and using weeklies didn't work for me back then.I have been going back and forth between the 2 plans and am still doing PP right now. There isn't that much difference in protein points I guess but I also won't quit eating carbs so that always drives my points up on PP.It's not that big of a deal b/c on PP maintenance I get 32 points before even having to use weeklies.I'm just mainly trying to find the best plan to maintain my loss on and I know freestyle is not it.I don't eat that much added sugar which is why SP never bothered me that much.I do like being on a plan where the only things that don't have points are fruits and non-starchy veggies.

borntexan, well, that’s too much to take in. What I said about protein between PP and SP is true; however, it seems when you’re doing SP you are, perhaps, doing Freestyle which is a whole other beast because the grilled (unbreaded?) chicken tenders should be free. But whatever works at the moment is the right plan. KOKO.

zazzles I remember diet soda cakes but I think there were 12 pieces. Should I eat the same crap I mean cake 12 days in a row or freeze in zip locks for a yummy treat ?

That may be where the 3-2-1 cake got its origin…something you can make fresh as one serving without a bunch of waste or an ever-growing stash of frozen portions that never get eaten.

If I were doing freestyle or flex as it's called on ITB chicken would have 0 points but on the original SP plan it didn't.Maybe I wasn't too clear about it.I only count 0 points for fruit and veggies no matter which plan I'm doing.

In a sense it sounds like WW Commnect—once it’s been seen you can never unsee it! Sympathy for the drug adjustment and reaction. My doctor and I agreed to double the two pills I take for Diabetes and the jury is till out on whether my body will adjust or I’ll have to go back to the old, 1/2 doses. In my case it is my sleep that is disrupted. I don’t feel that I ever fall into a deep sleep. I do, however, like seeing the positive effect it is having on my blood sugar levels.

Good morning. Cold, bright, and sparkling with frost this morning. Colder than it was supposed to be but what can you do but wait for Spring, I guess. Headed to the gym again later and not much else on the agenda except for the usual. Li'l Rosie's last puppy shots are next week and I can't wait until she can be taken out without worrying about those horrible puppy diseases. She needs to see the world! MFP has been totally whacked for me the last few days. It locked up my Samsung phone ("known issue," according to MFP) and I have to admit that the desktop version is awful. So I grabbed a little notebook and started writing down my food for the day. I like it---it's faster than finding the food, changing the portion size, etc. So I think I will go old-school for a while. I've been waxing nostalgic for Weight Watchers lately. My history has always been to join Weight Watchers at least twice a year, whether it was meetings or online. It's sad that I don't even consider it to be a viable option anymore. Sometimes I would go with Jenny Craig for extreme control but will never again use JC for a variety of reasons. I feel like I need a kickstart and there is nothing that I can think of that will do that. My sister-in-law has done well with NutriSystem and Costco has $100 gift cards for $55 plus the program is 50% off now if you play it right. I like that the NS plan includes two days per week on your own---don't want to give up my home cooking completely! Sigh....always looking for that golden ticket. Well at least I started doing something positive with the gym thing but I feel totally stuck with the weight loss issue. Seems like I have been gaining and losing the same fifteen pounds forever. Wishing all a good day. KOKO. That's me too. I typically can do really well with exercise pretty steadily or really well with diet on occasion but rarely both during same time frame.

That's me too. I typically can do really well with exercise pretty steadily or really well with diet on occasion but rarely both during same time frame. The best weight loss I ever had (consistent with few detours) was when I combined calorie counting with exercise. While doing it I did use different diet programs (a little JC, a little WW, even a touch of Atkins) but I always counted calories along with whatever program I used. I exercised at home with videos and only on my days off from work. But diet + exercise truly was the magic combo and I'm sure it still is, for most people. I've read many articles that say diet is the most important thing and perhaps it is but, for me, it doesn't do the whole job. I need to remember what worked best for me in the past and go with that.
