new plumber today changed the toilet shut off that had frozen up andtbe shower are with deteriorating threads...new shower head I bought yesterday went on it...might as well have him change the old cloggy one.hard water is killer here. We had tried a big company when old plumber retired and they bought his list...not great and $$$$$. So I was glad to find this one through a friend, and get the plumber's recommendation for an independent electrician who is good.
The big company we got when the whole house power box had to be replaced is $$$$, hard to schedule, and now will only say somewhere between 8AM and 6Pm with a call 45 minutes before. They do an annual āfreeā house check as the box has lifetime warranty. I get the high ceiling smoke detector back up battery changed then! They also use it to try to sell you stuff.
We had tried another..more user friendly but also ridiculous prices for simple stuff .
So now I am waiting for the door refinisher (2 years ago) to check the wood and see if it needs a maintenance coat. The double doors face the winter sun..even in winter here that sun is hard on wood.

Linda, you can get cheese curds? There is only one place around her that sells them and it's a convenience store, of all places. Of course, the deep fried ones are on the menu at A&W. Not going there! Glad the plumber showed up and everything is now in good working order. So the power box people will show up "some time". Guess you won't be wandering far from home. It amazes me how much extra home maintenance is required by the incredible heat you get where you live. How's the back, Becky? I hope it's easing some for you. What did you do today? Chele, are you continuing to heal and are you getting a little more accomplished than you were last week? We are in the 60s right now but are expecting temperature drops tonight and into the weekend. I'm ready for spring. Speaking of spring, Kathy, are you still in the 80s for your temperatures? Are DS/DBIL back from their trip and will you be doing your shopping/lunch celebration be over the weekend? I saw that Southern Living listed Gatlinburg as one of the 10 best small towns in the South. One of the places DB/DSIL are looking at is also on the list--Fairhope, AL. Liz, how's the knee and is the commute aggravating it? Are you still wearing the brace? Yoga was a bit easier today and I think it was more the sequence than me. I did try to do eagle pose, which is a one-leg balance, on the right side (left would not have been possible) and was managing well for a few seconds until Arya knocked me off my foot and almost into the coffee table. She was awful while I was trying to do yoga this morning. I also got 20 minutes on the rowing machine. I hope I can bandage and wear thick socks tomorrow and do 30 minutes on the bike and weights at AF before going to Aldi, which is in the same strip center. I'm still having to take it really easy, on the left foot especially (only 5300 steps so far today), but it's feeling a bit better every day. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll be back to somewhat normal and just working on balance and walking on uneven surfaces. Did everyone get their Powerball ticket for tonight? It should be close to $1/2 billion.

Karen, thanks for the start. Protein shake wouldnāt do it for me. What have hou been up to today? Is your vibration plate put together yet? Kathy, shopping and lunch sounds great. Spring break already! Easter isnāt until April 21st. I wonder if some schools will wait. Liz, your employee sounds like a self centered little so and so. I am giving her the Italian evil eye (il malocchio) Spit, spit, spit. You had quite the day yesterday. I hope today is a better day. Linda, we were lucky to find a good local plumber and electrician as well. None of them are cheap to be sure. I am glad you got it all taken care of. Becky, I hope you are feeling more energetic today. I didnāt do a whole workout today but I did brief 5 minute spurts of walking in place really fast. I am trying to build up my endurance. I was in the kitchen for awhile today making bread, roasting vegetables, baking potatoes and baking chicken thighs for Iggy. Later in the afternoon he got a phone call about the job. He starts in a couple of weeks.

Eagle pose has tobe hard with sore foot!
oops..front door guy is coming tomorrow morning in same time slot as the locksmith who is putting in new keyed deadbolt and doorknob on the security door....and the electrician for annual check somewhere between 8 morning, 6 evening.....bet all three same time?
Cashed some bonds while ordering Canadian money because I realized they are not in the trust. nobody wants probate. I think there are 45 more we did on paychecks that earn almost nothing these days. Then paid credit card at other bank, boight the lock and knob and arranged installation and then got to TJ's.
The wind is ferocious! You get pushed over backwards and car door won't open against it without major effort.

Linda, we are expecting your wind with thunderstorms tomorrow with possible tornado activity. We reached 67Ā° today and expect 70Ā°. good luck with your appointments tomorrow. Karen, Arya didnāt want to do yoga with you, she just wanted to stop you? Little stinker! My shoulders ache just thinking about the rowing machine. Take it easy tomorrow at the gym. I didnāt realize the lottery had reached that high. Good luck. š

Chele, I actually find protein shakes to be pretty filling, especially the one I am using now that's pretty high protein. Vibration plate is still in the original packaging. If it's not together by the time Dale leaves for his marathon on Saturday, I'll just do it myself. I don't think it will take more than 10 minutes and told him that last night. It should be pretty much plug and play and I already have a rubber mat where it needs to go. I did a load of laundry today but mostly read (almost finished with the scary climate change book), other than yoga and rowing. The rowing machine doesn't seem to bother my shoulders because I try to use my legs more. I think Arya wanted me on the couch so she could nap, since she had just eaten breakfast. In addition to the near miss with the coffee table, she sat on my head a couple of times when I was in floor positions. Congrats on short bursts of exercise, cooking (and hopefully eating), and most of all to Iggy on the new job. I checked and PB is "only" $448 million, but will probably go a bit higher before the drawing tonight. If nobody wins, I'll have to remember to get a ticket tomorrow for Saturday.
Eagle was impossible trying to balance on the left foot, Linda. I couldn't even get my right leg off the floor to wrap it around the left leg. Having the left foot off the floor wasn't bad, but my balance isn't that great even with the right foot right now. That may not be a bad thing to have both door guys there at the same time. And, yes, they all three may be there simultaneously and you could get things knocked out and enjoy the rest of your day. How will Micki react to all that activity? Probably good to get some use from those bonds and I know you'll enjoy what you're using them for. We've had some of those winds lately and they are not fun. Don't blow away!
Got my leather/cork pair of Birkenstocks today just in time for it to turn colder so I will have to delay wearing them. Should be comfy. New avatar is Myrtle Point in the Smokies. Another gorgeous shot from one of the hikers.

Karen, the pictures you have been posting are so pretty they look fake. I guess nothing says love more than a Bassett hound sitting on your head. Weāll have to start calling Arya āshe who must be obeyed.ā Itās a good thing sheās so cute. Donāt strain anything if you put the vibration plate together yourself. I have read a lot of articles on scary climate change. Some people need to pull their heads out of the sand. I have several pair of Birkenstocks and they used to be good for my PF but then something changed and they made it feel worse. I have them in a bag in the basement hoping some day my feet will like them again. Enjoy yours. They really do provide good support.

Karen, we were in the upper 70s today, thanks to it being overcast. It's been really windy too. DS got back from her trip on Sunday, but I haven't heard back from her yet on which day is better for her to get together. I saw the thing about Gatlinburg in Southern Living too. It hasn't changed that much over the years and I'm hoping it doesn't grow too much. I saw where they have a new attraction and Blake Shelton just opened a place there. Sounds like Arya was trying to do her own version of downward dog on your head! Pretty picture.
Chele, I don't know why they're having spring break so early this year. Congrats to Iggy on the new job! I'm sure that will help with your stress levels too. Glad you're feeling a bit better.
Linda, my DM has been cashing in bonds too. My DF got them the whole time he was working, but they aren't earning much anymore. They were a good deal back in the day. You definitely have more extreme temperatures than we do, but the heat and humidity combo is tough on things here. Glad everything went well with the plumber.
Waving to Becky and Liz.

Karen Thanks for the start. The back is tired and a little sore but that's mainly from the scoliosis I think. The new pain whatever it was is gone.We waited out the rain they had been talking about for days and then went to HEB.We woke up to 70 degrees and once the rain and wind blew in it got down to 58.The sun came out this afternoon and it's still 78 degrees. We have one more days with highs in the low 70's and it will cool off for the next week a little anyway.I walked this afternoon and rode the recumbent bike. For some reason I thought you were taking yoga classes.I guess Arya didn't want you to do yoga this morning.Continue to take it easy.
Chele Yea on Iggy getting the job.It sounds like you are slowly getting better.Keep up building endurance and you will be back to normal.Spring has come to Ohio?
Linda Good luck with the appointments tomorrow.
Kathy I'm glad your temps were a little more seasonable today.
