WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C95D18, 16 points and 905 calories plus isolated half Boston Chicken meal, 7 water.
Walked to and from clubhouse, table tennis, treadmill. I had contracted for 3 days of 30 minute walks or treadmill in addition to regular activities this week. I succeeded.
My stats were higher than planned today because I really wanted something after Canasta. I had a pack of WW potato sticks (2 pt, 70 cal) and a mini 3 musketeer bar (1 pt, 25 cal). The NSV is that it went no further. I achieved that by brushing my teeth right after.

TGIF! I was spot on with my eating yesterday. Tonight a friend and I are going to see a Bon Jovi tribute band. I’ll eat something before we leave (it’s an hour away), but may have a little something there too. It’s a pretty cool venue, in a big barn in an apple orchard. They do large fall activities—a corn maze, hay rides, etc.
Lori, Isn’t it amazing how other people eat? I would never be happy going out for pizza and subs every day. Hopefully your skin test turns out to be nothing.
Nancy, look at you, wanting a little something extra and not letting it spiral out of control! I continue to be impressed with our progress.

Happy Friday!!
It's like a ghost town at work...so quiet. I have been getting up and doing a 10 min quick walk around campus a few times a day in addition to lunch walk. I'm also finding that I'm looking to snack more often..I need to be careful - there is a box of 36 bags of famous amos cookies sitting on the counter...Glad I brought healthy snacks...
Nancy, Great job keeping things in control!! At work, our lunch table consist of about 8 coworkers. I usually eat quick and then head out for my walk. I usually always have at least one to three coworkers to walk with and then for the after work walk, it’s a different coworker (if she’s not available, I will walk at home or on the treadmill). On the rare occasions no one wants to walk at lunch, I just put my music on and go…
Jan, Praying for good news regarding the state test….Enjoy the Bon Jovi tribute band!! The venue sounds awesome!!
Kathy, how your week went well! Thinking of you...

Lori - Haha - We have a 12 pack box of Famous Amos cookies on top of the fridge. That's one of the items under the category of "DH treats" that I don't go near. They are delicious, I know. When I don't have walking company I listen to audio books. Right now it's "The Reckoning" by John Grisham. It's got my attention.
