The dentist removed my old fillings and replaced them with ceramic. My mouth now feels "off" as it is not as it was and the tooth that never hurts sort of hurts...figure it should adjust soon but if not may have to return to see what is up. I have just finished cooking half cup oats (not rolled) with 1/2 cup wheat (whole grain) together, have soaked some red beans and have chard and lettuce clean. The chard is a mystery as to what to do with it. We usually have it boiled with lemon juice, chopped onions and olive oil then eat with bread OR it goes into lentil soup that has potatoes, chard and then is seasoned with garlic and lemon juice.
CHERRY: I hope the storm stays clear of where you are and am glad that you have propane to see you through the winter. Do you prefer propane or electricity to run the heating?
BEVERLY: I hope you had fun with family at the big family dinner. How do you get them all around the table? I hope the air conditioner works well this summer with the new compressor in it!
LYNN: You ARE busy now that you are retired! I hope you find time to do fun things that you have been looking forward to doing now that you are not going to the office every day!
PAM: How nice of your DD to clear the sidewalks. Glad you are toasty and warm and hope that storms do not find you.

Good morning. I'm glad too that the storm missed us. On the weather map it looks like it is pretty well gone everywhere, at least from what it showed yesterday. There is one area over the great lakes that shows a storm watch, and there are flood warnings in several states, but nothing here.
I really prefer the propane for heating. It runs hotter and seems to heat more quickly. You can feel hotter air coming out of the registers than with the electric. However right now, and it's been this way for quite some time, heating with the electric is cheaper. It's nice to have the option.
Today I'm going to try to get a few more things done around the house and perhaps do some laundry. There's no place I need to go so I'll just enjoy being home. I'll probably spend some time reading and looking through magazines. There's plenty of them around that I haven't looked at yet.
Have a nice day, beaches. I hope this adverse weather is done in your area too.

Good morning friends,
The storms pretty much missed us!! All we got was wind & a bit of rain, not enough to aggravate the flooding situation.
Today is my big "work" day at church. I am already showered & dressed. My dinner went very well last night. I have tons of left-overs, won't have to cook again for the entire weekend. DGS is spending the night with us tonight, maybe he will eat some of them up. He will probably choose pizza instead. LOL. I always let him choose the menu when he stays with me.
Cathy, I have a drop leaf table, when let out to it's fullest size, it seats 10. Then, in my kitchen, I have a table that seats 6. I can seat 16 comfortably. I have had as many as 30 for Thanksgiving. That required a lot of folding tables & chairs. From what I understand, I am going to have about that many for this upcoming Thanksgiving. Of course, that is a long time away.
I don't want to have my old fillings removed!!! Nowadays they claim they are unhealthy. Heck, my mom lived to be 98 & she had a mouth full of them. I guess when they go bad they will replace them, but not until then!! Cathy, hope yours get along ok.
Off to work!! Great day all!

We are in Newport and relaxing. We hit a mess of traffic, but were able to get off the highway and bypass most of it. I heard people were stuck for three hours in the same spot. We were lucky.
I bought some soups and sandwiches in Walmart so we didn't have to go out for dinner. DH has a bad cold and was tired.
Have a relaxing evening all!
