WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C95D19, 16 points, 4 rollovers, 8 water, 1195 calories, K8:00, 10,215 steps
Short walk with my friend after pool, walked home from clubhouse, circled community with another friend later this afternoon and another short walk with John Grisham after dinner, more walking back and forth in house to hit my 10,000.
Made six generous servings of mushu tonight. I forgot about that until Lori mentioned it last week. I calculated 1 pt and 90 calories per serving. I printed out a dozen or so copies of the recipe to distribute to anyone who wants it at tomorrow’s meeting.

Good morning. It was a fun, late night. I’m looking forward to a nap this afternoon. Eating went pretty well. We didn’t eat before we got there, and food choices were limited. Fortunately for me there were a couple of meatless options because of Lent. I had mac and cheese. Was hungry when I got home at midnight so I had a snack before I went to bed. The band was fabulous, probably as talented as the real thing. Very pleasantly surprised as this current group has only been playing together since December. The bass player’s wife takes my Tuesday night class. At the risk of sounding old, it was loud 😂
Lori, oh the challenge of snacking! Nice that you can work in some extra 10 minute walks throughout the day.
Nancy, thanks for the audio book recommendation. I just requested it from my library. I just finished Becoming by Michelle Obama. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It took me two separate library loans to finish it on my runs. Sometimes I have trouble getting into audio books, and I find my mind wanders. Some books work for me, some don’t. Mushu used to be a weekly staple for you. Remind me again: shredded cabbage, egg, soy sauce, and what else?

C40. D1. Reset because I haven't been tracking, but have been exercising. No straight out binge, but roaming in my kitchen with intent :-)
Nancy - great job getting in those 10,000 steps. And I find having "food rules" around treats helps a lot, like you have with the Famous Amass cookies.
Lori- so nice that you fit in walks with coworkers a couple times a day. That reminds me it doesn't have to be 1 hour or nothing.
Jan - good for you for going to the concert. My husband damaged his hearing with many many nights of music shows when he lives in the Cities- he was a regular at 1st Avenue. Too loud is a real thing.
We have a potluck today with a bunch of foodie farmers (what to bring? And cook in the next 2 hours). And to write a sermon as I agreed to fill the pulpit for two churches tomorrow. :-0 Gulp. I'm a Soil Scientist by training, so wish me luck.
Kathy

Enjoyed a healthy low point breakfast/lunch since we’ll probably be going out to dinner and I’m not sure where that will be. I have corned beef and cabbage in the crockpot for DH for tomorrow night and a few dinners during the week (he likes it better the next day). I’m also making unstuffed cabbage so I have something point friendly to eat.
Nancy, I’m also making mushu to have for lunches this week. In my version, I sautés an onion, add bag of coleslaw, bag of broccoli slaw, garlic, water chestnuts, edamame, a little soy sauce and a little stir fry sauce. I did have one cookie crumbled on top of my yogurt.....
Jan, sounds like a great evening!! I haven’t been to a concert in ages, I would probably need ear plugs...lol and definitely a nap...
Kathy, I like getting a little exercise throughout the day, especially since my job is all sitting...It adds up nicely. Nice that you are fitting in the exercise!
