⭐ No Excuses ⭐
* This is a daily thread for those who want to live by the philosophy that you CAN be ON PLAN EVERY DAY, whether you are doing SFT or counting points for ALL foods! * You aren't doing this to brag; you are doing it for YOU! Because YOU are WORTH IT and because WW has made this totally DOABLE! * WW gives you a lot of freedom and a LOT of options that make it quite possible to live this lifestyle EVERY DAY. * You know that this philosophy keeps you on the straight and narrow. If you give yourself an excuse to go off plan today, there will ALWAYS be another excuse tomorrow. * SO, there are NO EXCUSES!!! * This is your LIFESTYLE and it is a lifestyle you enjoy and you live it daily. * Hopefully your participation here will not only inspire YOU but will inspire OTHERS too! YES, you CAN

One can have no smaller or greater mastery than mastery of oneself.

This one intrigues me...I have played piano, violin, bass clarinet and recorder but never considered myself a "master". I have taken cake decorating, taught myself watercolor and tried many recipes and become proficient...but am I a master? I do like the idea of being the master of myself...whether that means responsible for myself or being in control of myself...hmm...
I walked two laps and plan to head to the basement in a bit to do some exercise today.
Karen: Hooray for eating healthy and going for a walk! We can do it!
Bob: I like the idea of asking what I CAN do...will remember that today.

Oh my the talents you have my dear! I only did about 6 months of piano plunking as a child but no real lessons etc. I did do violin in jr high and high school orchestra, but not proficient. I played flamenco guitar taken up at age 57 with a prior history of some classical guitar lessons and fun. I have done cave exploration and mapping of Oregon Caves National monument. I was president of OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) Astronomers and participated in mapping the actual size of a small asteroid with a small group of other amateur astronomers. I have found dinosaur tracks,30 million year old dolphins, and billion year old fossils in the Grand Canyon (special permit) too. I cook pretty well. I have ridden my bike in distance about halfway to the moon (close to 119,000 miles now). I was a master gardener for Oregon State extension service.
I think of myself as curious, and scientifically bent but a published poet too. Don't know if this is the ole "jack of all trades master of none?" Some might say I am a "renaissance man wannabe". I am blessed to have enjoyed doing lots of different things. Blessed indeed. I am somewhat impatient but also stubborn and open to new things and new foods too.

Wow, and wow! You two have so many talents & interests! Impressive. Certainly sounds like mastery to me. But mastery of the self...could be tricky. Ultimately we are responsible for ourselves but that's not the same as mastery. I'll need to chew on this for a while.
