Hello? Anyone up this morning? Looks like everyone is either already busy or still sleeping in. I'll leave a pot of coffee out for everyone.
I'm going to Costco and want to go early to avoid the crowds!
Have a good day.

Good morning Linda and AWF.
I was actually up early but got involved in some computer stuff.
Sipping the 1st cuppa and will get breakfast soon. The it’s off to the monthly book sale at the library.
I need to start thinking about about recipes and menus for next week.
That’s it for now.

Good morning.
Blustery and sunny with fast-moving billowy clouds. Looks like November. In the forties which is nice!
Not much on the agenda today. I need to go to CVS---they mis-filled one of my prescriptions. I was supposed to get two different prescriptions. I got two pill containers with labels for two different prescriptions. Opened bottle #1---fine. Opened bottle #2---it was filled with the same med as bottle #1. I called and spoke to the pharmacist. At first she said "well, some people combine medications in one container...." and I assured her that I had just opened the bag of prescriptions and checked them, as I always do, and discovered the error. She had me read off the description of the pills that is always on the side of the pill container. Nope, it did not match what was in the container. Long story short, I am going in to have the mis-filled one replaced with the correct med. Disturbing.
Wishing all a good day.

Good morning!
It got up to 74 here yesterday - psych! I was so enthusiastic to be outdoors, I have a non-chainsaw version of Deb's achy chainsaw arms. Who knew a broom could be so vicious?! I'm grateful though since today we won't get out of the 40's. After the usual chores, we're going to pick out new carpet. I'm in.
Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning It will be a sunny weekend in the 70s. My husband will prepare the garden and put in the tomato and bell pepper plants I bought yesterday. i will do some pruning and weeding after I go to Trader Joes and the local grocery store. He defrosted a 5 lb tri tip to grill tonight. No, there is no company and I am making corned beef tomorrow so I guess he is living his fantasies. I eat 2 pieces of the meat. I am getting china ready to try to sell at an antique sale this weekend. It belonged to my next door neighbor. When she passed away I gave it to my daughter but now I have given her my mom's china which is more valuable. The sale is put on by the club I belong to and mostly it is dealers from all over California. There is a members area where we can sell things we own. No one else wants this china and I just don't want to give it to a thrift store. It is Noritake Savannah service for 12 with some missing pieces. I still have some dreaded tax work to do that will take no more than an hour. It is still a while before April 15th. fullmahina I despise CVS. Last week when I picked up one prescription the pharmacy tech asked if I wanted my other two renewed. Yes, I said and I am waiting to hear from them. My husband has one that had always been 3 months at our previous pharmacy but not CVS. They will only do 2 and then it takes a week to get the third. Can you imagine how sick you could get with the wrong medicine? Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Audrey, if you can't sell it this weekend you might consider inquiring at Replacements, LTD. I see they carry that pattern and they do buy from individuals. www.replacements.com/sell-to-us/We have had plenty of issues with CVS but I've never gotten the wrong medicine before. The mistake they made with mine would not have killed me but had I not noticed my feet would have blown up to Macy's-Parade-Float proportions. There are times when suppliers change and along with that there will be a change in the color, shape, etc of a pill. I always check and match the description on the label to the pill and will be super-vigilant from now on.

Good afternoon. I'm in, planned but can't track until I see the portion sizes at dinner. I have room since it's my one planned indulgence for the week.

fullmahina One of our club members is an appraiser and she is the one who came up with that price for me. I looked on Replacements.com to learn about the pattern but did not know they bought from individuals. It makes sense. Thank you

She had me read off the description of the pills that is always on the side of the pill container. Nope, it did not match what was in the container. Long story short, I am going in to have the mis-filled one replaced with the correct med. Disturbing. Amazing. I quit CVS sometime last year after the two long-time pharmacy mangers retired simultaneously and the replacements they hired just seemd to be happy running a totally disorganized pharmacy. I was not surprised that you got the new-age customer service reswponse when you called. It is based on the principle that “the customer is always wrong…no matter what!” Of course, I moved back to Walgreen’s which, it turns out, isn’t much better. The medication change I recently made, back to medicine I used to take as a combo pill, ended up being the two separate drugs rather than the combined pill, because none of the insurance companies want one of the drugs used and make it hell through pre-authorization to get it. And my Endo is easing into retirement and has had it with all of the heavy-handed pharmacy benefit management BS and the paperwork it involves. So he told me to go to Costco and pay out of pocket. He wrote a script for a 400-day supply of each of the pills, and the total cost out of pocket without insurance involvement was $65! I would consider switching to mail-order pharmacy with my plan, ExpressScripts, but I don’t trust mail-order pharmacies to get insulin to me during the summer months via a delivery that keeps it under the maximum temperature. The last time I tried that during a summer month, I used a probe thermometer and found the interior of the styrofoam container exceeded the maximum storage temperature. I contacted the insulin manufacturer and was told that their recommendation was to make the pharmacy replace it. I didn’t, and I guess it was okay, but thought, “Who the hell decides to send insulin via a UPS 2-day regular delivery instead of next day by 10 AM." Life is scary. More and more.

I gave up on CVS years ago.Of course I live in a small town but I honestly don't see how they stay in business. There are never any cars in their parking lot when we go by there.

Even though my prescription plan (Silver Script) is through CVS, I'm free to get my prescriptions filled elsewhere. I gave up on mail order (I hated thinking about my pills sitting in a hot mail box for hours and I had problems getting them in a timely fashion) and I stopped using CVS and Walgreens because of their mistakes. I now get my prescriptions through my grocery store (HEB) They match the prices so I'm not spending more there. I can order refills either through their website or on the phone and pick them up at my convenience when I go there for groceries or I can use their drive-up window. I really like getting my prescriptions there. I also got my flu, shingles and pneumonia vaccines there.

linda72 I can get my pills filled at CVS,HEB or Walmart.Since I gave up on CVS for their mistakes years ago and we are at HEB more than we are at WM I also get mine filled at HEB.It is so much more convenient.I use their automated system as long as I have refills. We are there 3 times a week so it's convenient for us.
