WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

C95D20, 21 points, 3 rollovers, 1198 calories, 4 water, K8:00
Just collateral exercise
Up 1.2 . That’s OK. Hopefully next week will be better.
The Mushu recipe went over really well at the meeting. Almost everyone wanted one. The 15 copies I brought wasn’t enough. But some took photos, some will share, and the leader will post it on her website.
Jan – Many years ago the kids invited us to a Billy Joel concert for some occasion. I LOVE him, but it was soooooooo loud. I really wonder whether this generation’s hearing problems will start earlier. Not to mention their back problems due to the back packs. Maybe none of that will matter if they can’t breath
Kathy – I’d love to hear the sermon. Any chance it will be available on the Internet?
Lori – Hmm. I like the idea of the water chestnuts. At what point in the process do you add them?

Jan - here's my mushu recipe:
MuShu - 1 pt. per serving
Using a huge, deep sauté pan, I dice and brown in PAM one or two large onions and maybe some diced scallions. Then I add and brown a generous tbls of crushed garlic. I add ½ bag (6 oz) of Morningstar Meal Starters (veggie or soy crumbles) and sauté until brown and no longer frozen. Next I add a bag of Dole Classic Cole Slaw and stir it all up, followed by a bag of Broccoli Slaw and again mix it all up. I then add 2 or 3 Tbls of low sodium soy sauce, stir and cook for a while until soft enough but still crunchy. I divide it into 6 portions (Tupperware containers) and refrigerate. (The original recipe called for the addition of egg beaters while cooking and also some Teriyaki sauce. Maybe that makes the MuShu more authentic, but I just didn’t like what the eggs did to the texture and the Teriyaki added a lot of sodium so I eliminated it). I do add additional seasonings to my taste. I’ve also been dotting it with some Chinese mustard right before serving – it can be a side, a snack, a lite lunch or whatever

Good morning. It was a mediocre day of eating yesterday. I made Irish soda bread and had a generous serving of it. Tomorrow DS turns 19 and he’s requested Panda Express and ice cream cake. I’m confident I can have a small portion of each and be satisfied. Fingers crossed. We’ll celebrate either today or tomorrow. I also have a corned beef to throw in the crockpot and they’ll make Ruben sandwiches. This is one time when not eating meat works to my advantage. I may have a piece of rye toast, though. I only buy rye bread this time of year.
Nancy, I remember making the mushu. Thanks for the reminder recipe. I’ve taken a screen shot and put it on Pinterest. >>>>> Just remembered that others can see Pinterest so I edited the photo to only show the recipe. Yes, I also remember Billy Joel being very loud. The next generation could have hearing damage from ear buds as well, not to mention neck damage from looking down at their devices, plus the ailments you mentioned.
Kathy, you never cease to amaze me. Have fun with your sermons today.
Lori, you are so right in saying that all the little walks add up.
Costco was sampling Morning Star Farms breakfast sausage the other day. I forgot how good it was! I got a package and have been enjoying it in a low carb wrap with eggs and cheese. It’s a nice change.

Jan - The morningstar sausages sound interesting. Only one point each. They are on my shopping list.

When shopping yesterday morning, they had blue bunny individual ice cream sundaes on sale so I thought that would be a nice controlled treat. Well, I scanned it and put it right back. The little cup scanned 29 points, crazy....so instead I bought chilly cow peanut butter swirl, each cup 6 points. Last night, we stayed in for dinner so I enjoyed my ice cream topped with cool whip and sf chocolate syrup, 7 points much better than 29....
Nancy, I add the water chestnuts at the end, no cooking time needed. They just add a little crunch. What is your Facebook group name?? Mine is WW nwnj territory - I know they are private groups, I just like to check them out for different ideas..
Jan, Irish soda bread is my favorite. I won’t bring a whole loaf home...I just know I would devour the whole thing. My GF makes them and gives me one piece - I am so looking forward to it.. I don’t like corn beef so that is not a problem...
