I'm IN.
Yesterday - Young Marines drill - was a long, busy, and mostly-good day. But we left the house really early and when I got back I needed my final two brain cells to camp out on the couch and doze off.
Today? The Kressling's still here and still asleep. He'll go home after our mid-day Sunday dinner. Since the township's St. Patrick's Day parade was last week, we can enjoy a DOR with no commitments.
NASCAR (Fontana CA) is at 3:30 PM. I did a load of laundry last night so I think I'm off the hook for today <hahahaha>. So I can kick back with a book, rough out a grocery list for Tues/Weds, and generally do Not Much.
I'm enjoying my Sunday morning coffee... ☕️☕️☕️... as I sit in a ☀️sunbeam☀️...
🌴🌵🌴🌵🌴🌵🌴🌵🌴🌵🌴 Have a healthy-eating day, all! 🌴🌵🌴🌵🌴🌵🌴🌵🌴🌵🌴

Happy St Patrick’s Day I am awake way too early. I cough related to allergies and so I cough early morning and later at night. I will make corned beef with carrots, onions and celery in the crockpot for dinner. I make cabbage separately so it isn’t soggy and will make Skinnytaste horseradish cream sauce for the meat. I have a large Cuisinart crockpot so I can cook 2 briskets. The meat shrinks and this way my husband will have it for lunches. Yesterday the WSJ had a recipe using five 40 ounce cans of Budweiser.I’ll pass. It will be warm in the 70s so I will walk the dog, work in the yard and stay home.

Good morning.
Usual chicken chores then out to a Home Show later. Going to visit fencing booths, especially, but I've already decided on a fencing company. We've seen the work they've done on several properties and we know they are reliable---family company that's been in the business for over fifty years. One neighbor decided to go cheap, used another place, and ended up having that other company leave some fencing materials at his place and then they virtually disappeared. The company we're going with came in and did a beautiful job for less than the first company had quoted.
I love corned beef but DH does not so that leaves me with too much salty meat to deal with so no corned beef here. The last time I made it I packaged the leftovers in 3 oz portions and froze it and I think it was in my freezer for a couple of years---enjoyed it but every time I ate it my fingers blew up. I did make a pot of boiled cabbage, onions, and carrots yesterday and I'll have some of that with a lite hot dog later. Not quite the same but it's the thought that counts. My Irish grandmother never made corned beef on St Paddy's day, lol.
Have a good day everyone---KOKO!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! No corned beef here today; we had reuben sandwiches recently though. I will have cooked cabbage with either baked turkey breast or grilled steaks. It's still cold here and mostly cloudy so it feels cooler.
After our walk yesterday, I realized my weight had slowly gotten back into the green zone so I went to WW and weighed in for the month of March. Not sure how long my weight will stay here but I got the etools voucher so I'm good until November, 2024. Think WW will even be around then?
Our newspaper had a big story today about the problems with eggs and cited the research we discussed. I did read the WW article on their "My Day" page and it said moderation was key when it comes to any food. Heaven help us if a study comes out saying chicken is considered bad for you!

Good morning. I’m in. fullmahina, you reminded me that there is a home show in San Jose this weekend and I have a free ticket for entrance. So perhaps I will trek there and see what I find. I plan to cook my corned beef in the Instant Pot. I will roast the carrots and potatoes, and sauté the cabbage.

DH and I LOVE Corned beef. A local restaurant makes a fantastic one at a decent price. So we had some Friday and then again today. Time to start pounding the water!
I'm feeling much better. I don't think the aches and pains I had were a side effect of the meds. I think I actually had a flu. No fever or chill just severe fatigue and body aches, but I've heard of several people recently who've had this.
Happy St. Patrick's day to everyone.

Barely made check in, actually remembered it today lol. And I'm going back to calorie counting. I was on points plus since I came back to using a WW points system, and I discovered something, I was eating at least 2000 calories a day thanks to those zero fruits. Clearly, I have no portion control on any zero point foods any more, including fruits now, so I guess I better stick with the calories, that way I will count everything. I realize I could go back to original points, where fruit has points, but there is something "visually reassuring" and more positive about 1200 to 1400 calories a day, versus 26 to 29 points a day. Shrugs. And with that change, I'll leave with this little diddy? ditty? "Here I go again on my own...."
