WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

My normal day was C95D21, 20 points, 8 water, 1200 calories and 10,450 steps
Twice around mall, treadmill, walking at home
Didn't manage K-closed though. For some reason I got the munchies during TV
1 pretzel rod 1 pt, 50 calories 1 WW snack bar 1 pt, 45 calories 1 cup peanuts in the shell 10 pts, 320 calories (ouch) 1 pouch Famous Amos cookies 7 pts, 170 calories
I'm not calling it a binge since I have the weeklies and it's all tracked and on a day with good steps and water. So the whole day was 39 points and 1785 calories. Progress not perfection, right??

Good morning. Decent food day yesterday, with two small pieces of Irish soda bread. We’ll have birthday dinner tonight. My plan is to enjoy sensible servings of both dinner and dessert, with extra fruit and veggies if I want more. It’s one of my busy days and my breakfast and lunch are both very light on Mondays. I’ve written “controlled portions for birthday dinner” as one of my intentions in my journal this morning.
Lori, what an insane number of points in the ice cream! I bet you’re glad you checked before you bought it.
Nancy, you’re creeping up on C100. What a celebration that will be! Love your attitude about your unplanned snacking last night. Aren’t you glad you tracked it and didn’t just throw in the towel? Progress is right! I’ve really been enjoying the MSF sausage patties.

Good Morning! Geez that weekend went fast...
Nancy, Great job tracking and using your Weeklies the way I believe they are meant to work....If needed, they are there (stopping the all or nothing mindset!!) I think the peanuts in the shell was a smart choice - they probably took longer to eat and more nutritious then a lot of other options. I sometimes do the same with almonds in the shell...
Jan, Happy Birthday to DS!!! Panda Express and ice cream cake bring back memories from my teen years...Enjoy the birthday celebration!! Control is the key!! Nice that you wrote it in your journal!! and Yes, I am so glad I checked before buying the sundae...If I'm ever going to spend that many points, it better be homemade ice cream and worth it!! Plus I really enjoyed the chilly cow... I'm going to add the MSF sausage patties to my shopping list! I've also been enjoying a little fatfree refried beans with my eggs. It might sound strange but this weekend I made a crunchy pita pocket with leftover veggie omelette, refried beans and salsa...it was very yummy!!
Kathy, hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Have a Great Day everyone!
