This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
Our motto is persistence, not perfection.

Good morning all. Another problem sleep night, bed at 10:30, up at 3:30. At least I got 5 hours but I have another long day ahead with important meetings this afternoon and being exhausted will definitely not enhance my performance. I don't have to leave the house until 10 today so it would be great if I could catch a quick nap, but I doubt that will happen.
Had a nice dinner out with friends last night. The restaurant was super accommodating to my needs - I had miso-glazed codfish with a ton of roasted vegetables. One of my friends eats the way I do during the week so was able to get what she needed as well. It was just so much fun catching up.
I'm a little sore from the training yesterday but it's not painful and I tell myself this is a good thing, I'm building muscle, which is the whole point of this. My back bothered me a bit yesterday but it's fine again now - I know which exercise did it - she called it superman where you're lying on your stomach, arms and legs stretched out, and you lift arms and legs off the floor, 3 reps of 12 lifts. Ouch. We did a lot of core work too and I'm feeling that as well. May go to the gym tonight with DN for a little walking on the treadmill, but I suppose that will depend on whether I'm still functional at 7 tonight, hahaha.
On the plus side, it's nice having a lot of time at home this morning. No rushing around for me.
Have a great day all, will probably be back here this morning before I have to leave to see if anyone has checked in.

Good morning Andi and ATF,
Andi, sorry about your early start to the day, but glad you get to ramp up slowly to your work day. Oh, that superman used to make me hurt too. Good luck with your meetings today.
My sleep was not great. I woke up multiple times and had a hard time going back to sleep. I had a little muscle soreness when I went to bed last night, but it seems to be gone this morning. I'm still feeling a sense of accomplishment over getting the mowing knocked out in solid fashion.
We got an email last night from our agent asking if we'd be able to do closing sooner than next Tuesday. Of course we said we would absolutely be open to that. They just need to give us enough notice to get packed up and make the trip. Lol. The question amused me and I wanted to reply HELLS YES! But kept it business appropriate. Haha! I'm sure she was concerned with DH being able to get off work, us making arrangements for Lily, etc. She's very thoughtful regarding such things. I reached out to DD last night and asked if we could drop Lily at her place to stay while we were at closing, she said Of course! So that's much preferable to leaving her here by herself for what will probably be a very long day. I'm anxious to see what they come back with as far as the date change.
Anyway, not a whole lot on the agenda for today. Maybe a trip to the DG. We're really low on laundry detergent, toothpaste and dog treats, and they have the best price around.
Have a good day everyone, I'll check back later.

Oh Lora, wouldn't that be wonderful to close earlier! That must mean the buyers have secured their financing, right? Green light now!!! Sounds like a good plan with Lily and for the trip altogether. What is the DG?
I'm feeling so sad right now. A very close friend of mine, first sponsor from my OA days (so we've known each other for 10 years now), has been diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma and is so sick. She has been feeling crappy since the summer but she's kind of a hypochondriac and doesn't like western medicine so I lent it a distant ear. Thought she had Lyme but was tested and was negative. Seems like there were warning signs but each doctor is so focused on their particular specialty that no one said there may be something serious going on here, see a hematologist. So, now Stage 4 and fighting for her life. Just got off the phone with her and she's going in for a consultation at Memorial Sloan Kettering today which is the best cancer hospital in the area. I hope she gets some hopeful news.
Thanks for listening, ROs. Don't know where else to share this - she and I don't have any friends in common. Be grateful for every day.

OH Andi, I'm so sorry that you received such sad and troubling news. I wish I had some words of comfort or wisdom. Share here whenever you feel the need. (((Hugs))). Yes, apparently the under writer approved the buyers financing. They're making a very large down payment, so I didn't really think getting the approval would be a problem, but it was a pleasant surprise to get word back so quickly and hear that they want to move up the closing. DG = Dollar General, I was just too lazy to type it out. Lol.

Good morning Andi, Lora, and all to follow -
Sorry I didn't get here yesterday. We came back to a hectic week - we have candidates for our open director position and also had all kinds of RAs coming in to interview yesterday. It was pretty crazy and I was utterly exhausted when I got home. I was a total slug and was ready for bed by 8:15 pm. I had an issue with the "pillows" on my breathing machine - didn't realize what was wrong until I woke up. I actually thought I'd put it on upside down but there are sort of two pieces of silicone or whatever that hold up for each nostril. One of the layers of silicone on the right side had turned inside out causing the outer layer to be really flimsy and I kept feeling air on my face. So not the best sleep from probably 4:30 am onward but it's okay.
Andi I'm sorry for the early wake up and so sad to hear about the news with DF. I hope you aren't beating yourself up. We never can expect that kind of news and I know that you provided your friend comfort by listening. We're here always.
Lora good news about the house! I hope the timeframe works out for you all and that it all moves along.
Hope everyone has a good day - this is fine cause the day goes by quickly but it's a lot of "people time" for an introvert like myself.

Thanks Lora and Amanda. Oh, DG, that would never have occurred to me! Ha. Amanda sounds like we're both sleep deprived today...

Well I got my errands out of the way and have worked a little bit in the yard, and I'm taking a little break to check in.
Amanda - well shoot, girl. Just sounds like a you had a rough day and night all the way around. I hope today and tonight are better for you.
I decided to do something a little different for supper tonight. I guess it's kind of a "burrito bowl" . I'm going to cook some ground pork that I'll season with a little chili powder, onion powder and cumin, stir in some salsa verde, then serve that on some shredded lettuce with avocado, and have a variety of topping available like shredded colby jack, jalapenos and sour cream. It's quick, easy and satisfying and the leftovers will be great for lunch tomorrow.

Andi, I am sorry about your friend. I think I mentioned that one of our closest friends found out about 2 months ago that he has lymphoma. He is going into Sloan this weekend for the 4th in his series of chemo treatments, then they will wait and see what happened. This is a friend my DH met in his first year of law school, and we have been close friends ever since. They are godparents to our younger DS. So, I know how you feel. Always a shock when we find these things out.
Lora, so excited that your closing is coming up. The large down payment and then asking you to pay closing costs makes absolutely no sense. The reason people do that is when they don't have a lot to put down. It really doesn't matter, because in the end you get the money that you get, and to them it really doesn't make sense. But, very happy that they are closing so soon, you worked things out for Lily, and you get an extra visit with your DD.
Amanda, sorry for your crazy day. My DH uses a C-Pap, so I know what you are talking about.
Yesterday I only worked for about 2 hours, then went to a games day from one of the charities. They had a nice buffet lunch, and because it had to be fish or dairy, they had a lot of veggie dishes, salmon, and salad. Of course the rice pudding I had didn't count. I didn't have much for dinner though. I played mah jongg, and I was really lucky. Sometimes it's skill, or how one person chooses to play their hand over what another would have done with the same tiles, but sometimes, you are just lucky to pick up the right tiles. We played 10 hands, and I won 5 of them. Considering there are 4 of us playing, that's a lot. And Susie, if you are reading, one of the hands I won was a pairs hand, and I had nothing to start.

Wow Robin...you won 5 hands - yippee! I will be playing tomorrow in our new clubhouse
The day has slipped away (dealing with some tax issues with my DSister so I am somewhat stressed)...heading to mindlessly watch TV
