wow..last day of winter..time is getting past me fast.
Museum today...switched to Tuesdays. Dropping off last of savings bonds at bank to redeem, pick up receipt late...you make almost nothing on them and I realized they had not been put into the trust. I remember when it was a good deal and you got them with pay checks in a monthly basis. You gave them as gifts for babies. Those things are a pain to redeem.

Limda, they are a pain to redeem and don’t forget to put them on next year’s tax return. My DF forgot and got audited.
Karen, how is the bum feets club doing today? Is Arya walking gingerly in sympathy? How was the meeting? The sleep has been much better except for last night. I stayed up until 10:30 and Iggy still wasn’t home. He didn’t make it back until midnight. He an pd his coworkers were welcoming all the basketball teams to Dayton yesterday. Tonignt and tomorrow they go to the games.
Kathy, we may not be warm bit at least we have sunshine. The moon has been out in full force in the early morning and has been a lovely shade of orange. We need a filter for the camera because we have not been able to capture the orange color.
Becky, I know about those country roads, at least back in the 60s and 70s. When we would visit Indiana in the summer, we would stay at my aunt and uncle’s farm and the road to their house was gravel. I used to walk on it all the time but when you are a kid it just seems like an adventure.
Waving to Liz.
We had some new sheets that needed to be washed so I took them out of the packaging and whatever sizing they used set me sneezing and gave me a headache. I need a gas mask to do anything these days. I prewashed them, washed them and rinsed them twice. I hope that did the trick. I haven’t put them in the bed. I need for this congestion to clear before I do that.

Linda,I agree that bonds are a pain to redeem, for the little bit of yield you get. And now they are even more difficult to purchase. For years, DM went to the bank and got each grandchild a bond for their birthday. Then they quit selling them at banks, so I had to go online to get them for her. And that was even more of a pain than the redemption process. It's good to be rid of them, since they aren't part of the trust anyway. You'll enjoy spending the money. Even though it's not officially Spring until tomorrow, is your weather more springlike? How was the museum today? Did you have an interesting project? How cold is it this time of year in Vancouver? How was the Berlin potato salad? Does it have eggs in it? What else is in the dressing besides onions?
Arya is showing us no love, Chele. Dale is a bit more able than I am, so the 2 of them walked their usual route this morning, only somewhat slower. The meeting wasn't nearly as contentious as the last one and the group did vote to build a greenhouse. There was only one dissenting vote and who it was kind of surprised me. The ironic thing was that the board recommended a wooden structure, which was the cheapest option, but the group decided they wanted the steel version, which is $2K more. We have a $5K grant that will pay for about 40% of the project, so that's a good start. Iggy said he would be late and he certainly was. Hopefully he'll be a bit earlier tonight and tomorrow with the tournament in progress. Will he be rooting for anyone in particular, since his alma mater isn't playing, or does he need to remain neutral due to his job? The moon was definitely amazing this morning. I wanted to get a photo but Arya would have wanted to go out with me and she would have been a pain to try to get back inside from the deck. I've gotten some of those new, stinky sheets and have had to wash them twice they were so bad.
Kathy, do you consider highs in the 60s as winter or spring temperatures? Sorry you have clouds and drizzle to go along with those temps. Makes it feel even chillier. Isn't it nice not to have to go to work on days like yesterday and today? UCF might surprise you. There always seems to be a Cinderella team, so why not them in 2019? Dale iced his feet last night while I was at the meetings, so the swelling has lessened. He has high arches plus wide feet, so that causes some problems. He needs more cushioning in his socks so we're looking at options.
Hope the hospital is emptying a bit, Liz, and the site visit is over and went well. Is Spring coming to your part of the world yet? Is the knee behaving? How's Zoe's tail?
Becky, our part of the county is mostly forgotten, despite having much higher taxes than the next county (the one we wanted to be annexed into last year). Living on the lake, the county jacks up the taxes and then says we live too far from the county seat to expect them to do much in the way of services provided. The weird thing is that the road crews are usually out patching potholes just after it has rained and there hasn't been time for the potholes to dry out. You defintely got your steps in yesterday, between HEB and an intentional walk. It would have been a shame to have wasted that beautiful weather. Did you drive out to the gate for your walk? Was today a carbon copy of yesterday and did you walk?
I watched a presentation from the online seminar on weight loss and it was done by a WFPB (vegan) registered dietician. She recommends eating TEN servings of veggies and 3 fruits a day, plus all your carbs should be high fiber. She didn't even mention protein. I don't think I could eat 10 servings of veggies a day. I got my hair trimmed this morning. It needed shaped up and thinned because it was driving me NUTZ, always falling into my face. I plan to grow it out a bit longer, so I didn't want much trimmed off. Then I went to AF for 30 minutes on the recumbent bike and weight machines. I had already done 30 minutes of yoga and 10 on the Vibe before I left, so I have done about 90 minutes of exercise today. I'm trying to work into that being the standard to see if I can get my weight to budge. I stopped on the way home for celebratory sushi for dinner. We are celebrating Dale finishing the race and not being DFL (the D stands for dead, the L stands for last, and you can fill in the blank on the F--it's a runner/triathlete term). Tomorrow will be an around the house day and then Thursday I go back to Osteo. I'm looking forward to seeing how much of my strength I maintained over the 8 week hiatus. I also want to see how the feet react to the extra workload. Then I'll have my first Hydro Massage session on the way home. Really looking forward to that because "sis" says it's amazing. I'm off to transcribe minutes from last night before I either can't read my writing or remember what happened. Happy Tuesday!

Karen Thanks for the start.
Linda I hope you enjoyed your museum work.
Chele I'm glad you have been sleeping well until last night. That is late to get home.I'm glad you have had sunshine.Kenneth said the moon was beautiful last night. When I first moved out here our road was a mixture of gravel and sand and when it rained a lot it was pure slush. We were so happy when they finally paved this road.I hope your headache is gone by now.
Karen Is Arya upset with you since you can't walk her as much? It's a shame your county road gets neglected.Since Bastrop is the county seat and we have an Elginite as our road commissioner we get fairly good service out here. The problem is the county is so big they can't get to all the roads all the time. Our commissioner died shortly after he was re-elected and took office so they offered the job to his widow who is well versed and is good in the commissioners court. He had taken on the animal shelter as his pet project last term and now she has taken that over.I did walk yesterday and today. It wasn't quite this warm yesterday but windier this afternoon with a stronger south wind.It did get up to 74 but is now down to 71.I haven't driven to the gate the last 2 days.My knee is hurting and even down to my ankle and I'm wondering if my flat feet is contributing to the pain.
I couldn't eat that many veggies either at least 0 point veggies.I normally put 4 0 point veggies in my salads at lunch and the only veggies we have at night are when we alternate sweet potatoes or beans with the chili beans and tonight is the last night for that so I need to figure out what meat to buy tomorrow.Probably either sirloin or pork chops. We had pork chops last so probably sirloin.I do only eat 2 servings of fruit a day though.I did a 45 min walk and will still do at least 30 min on the bike.

Becky, I don't think Arya is upset with me but she would like me to be able to walk a little farther, which isn't an option right now. I think she missed Dale while he was gone because he does the longer walks and I tend to do the shorter trips. Does your knee to ankle hurt on the front of your leg? If so, I'm guessing it's shin splints and maybe you started walking too far too soon, especially if there are ups and downs involved in your route. Are you wearing any kind of arch supports or is that built into your walking shoes? Most WMs have some kind of Dr. Scholl's machine that you stand on and it tells you what kind of arch support would work for you. Ten is definitely a lot of veggies, even zero point ones. I may get 6 or 7 on a good day, but probably not 10. Your fruit servings are a bit large, aren't they? Maybe you have a 3 for 2 going. I typically get 3 and sometimes 4 a day and that works for me. I try to keep at least 4 kinds of fruit on hand so I can change it up. Right now I have bananas, apples, oranges, blackberries, and blueberries.

Linda, I helped my DM redeem her savings bonds last year. It was a pain! My dad got them with his paychecks for many years and some of them earned quite a bit until they matured. I think she still has some in her trust, but she redeemed the last of the ones outside the trust last year.
Chele, the rain is supposed to clear out tonight and the rest of the week should be really nice. That must've been an exciting first day for Iggy and a fun event to start with even though it was long. I've had that problem with sheets too, so hope the double rinse did the trick.
Karen, highs in the 60s and even the 70s are considered winter weather here. We've already had some stretches in the 80s, so I'm going to enjoy this little cool spell while it lasts. Yes, it was very nice not to have to go to work in this weather. DM has company coming later this week, so we did the grocery shopping this afternoon. It was still sprinkling, but not bad. One of my very brave or possibly crazy cousins is going on a road trip with DM and my 2 aunts next week. They are heading to New Orleans and visiting Tallahassee on the way.
That would be wonderful if UCF was the Cinderella team this year. You never know. This is their first time getting in as an "at large" team and not as a conference winner, so it's a big milestone for them. Glad that Dale's feet are doing a bit better and that he didn't come in DFL! I'm guessing you won't have lost too much strength in 8 weeks, but you might feel it more.
Becky, I don't think I could get 10 vegetable servings in a day either, but I do need to work on getting more in. I never thought WW should've dropped the GHGs since it encouraged people to keep track of fruit and veggies servings.
Liz, hope things are calmer this week.

Karen The pain is strange. It is on the front and back of my knee going into my calf once in awhile but my shin doesn't hurt.Just the ankle.Everything is on the right side. Not much pain if any on my left leg.The recumbent bike seemed to hurt my calf worse than the walking does.I may still look around for a different bike.It doesn't necessarily have to be a recumbent bike although it should be easier on my knee.I just eat raspberries and blackberries. They are in 6 oz containers and I have one with lunch and one with dinner. So they are maybe 2 oz more than a 1/2 cup serving but I don't eat any other fruit during the day.I tried some inserts(not Dr Scholl's b/c they are too expensive)and my knee/leg hurt even more so I took them back out.
Kathy That is probably the only reason I still use ITB.It has the healthy checks you can check off for any plan.

Hate mystery pains...you start wondering about all kinds of stuff. Have you seen a doc?
Ayra certainly has her moods. She needs to appreciate you more!
Kathy, how are you liking retirement?
Chele, glad you are sleeping better.
My boss at the museum got out six boxes of six different donations! I got it all set up and done except for the high school track, cheer, letter sweater stuff. But they have sheets filled out with categories, provenance etc. They just need measurements and descriptions which the Wed. person can do.
Today was one of those days...yard guys did not show Friday because of a death in their family.Ok. supposed to be told when they would come..M or T....nope took me all day ,multiple calls to find out they will show tomorrow some time. So I finally waterd yard and locked the gate! Have to wait again to poof the diametrious earth because they will just blow it away! Kind of want to get ahead of spring bugs. Dropped off last of bonds at bank at 9 topick up at noon...Set it up. get a call an hour later. Spouse has ti cone and show ID. They tell him cannot do it until after 2:30 as short of tellers. Finally get receipts at 3:30...another trip. So glad those are done.
Got bill for Micki's chip a day after the year expired! On hold forever to use credit. Hold hour later doing bank statement I see a photo of the check I sent them a month ago. Hold another forever to deal with that! Never did get to grocery store or give dog a bath.Going to fetch hamburgers!
Tomorrow willbe better, right?

Linda, if Arya was human we would describe her with the old expression, "she ain't had no fetchin' up". I think she needs a doggy role model, but that dog would have had to be here before Arya so she would be the dog she needs to be. Phoebe enjoyed being an only dog but I think she could have also been a good big sister. She doesn't seem to know how to be a dog and we're trying to teach her to be something we have never been. Yes, tomorrow WILL be better. Believe it! Your bonds have been a real mess! Those chips aren't cheap. We got the first year free (rescue paid for it) but then we just bit the bullet and got the lifetime plan and we hope they will lose money on us because she will be around for a long time.
Has to be a tendon, ligament, or muscle, Becky, or some combination. Can you try moist heat on it? Also, I wonder about Penetrex, BioFreeze, etc. I would give it a bit of a rest to try to let it heal some. Are berries the only fruits you like? I vary fruits because berries can be so expensive. Hopefully my blueberry and blackberry plants will do well this year and I won't have to buy as many.
Kathy, winter time 60s and 70s sound wonderful, compared to our 40s and 50s. Hope DM et al have a good road trip. I thought you might go with them, since you can now. I didn't realize UCF didn't get in as a conference champ this year. Becky mentioned ITB as possibly having GHGs, so I wonder if there are other options to stay on that and track electronically if that's what worked best for you.
Sushi was really good and we have more for tomorrow. Eat. Repeat.

Karen I really think it's just the arthritis in the knee acting up again and I'm trying to put off getting gel injections until it gets hot when I won't be walking anyway.I won't be walking every day.Tomorrow HEB so I should get walking done in there.I know berries are expensive but they have more fiber in them than apples, bananas, etc.I only eat fruit at lunch and dinner so I get enough for 2 days when we go to the store.I like apples but they have more carbs than I want to use on fruit and not enough fiber to balance it out.Kenneth eats 2 bananas a day and I will eat a bite of his but if I eat a whole banana 2 days in a row my IBS-C really acts up.I am glad I love raspberries and blackberries since they have the fiber. If I didn't have IBS I would probably just buy whatever fruit was on sale or cheaper. We spend a lot on meat though so I just stick to the basic berries.Maybe we should get Arya and Scooter together since neither knows they are dogs.I couldn't handle another dog in addition to Scooter although she is good most of the time she is so strong.
Oh I forgot to add I do use Penetrex on it.
