WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Jan and Lori - I made scallops in the Cuisinart toaster over. I used broil and later broil/convection. They cooked thru according to the meat thermometer but they never got really brown. I noticed that the coils on top were not red as they usually are when broiling. Do your coils get red when broiling? Thanks.

Good morning! Thank goodness I stayed OP the remainder of the day yesterday. Tonight’s challenge will be the cake at the banquet. I’ll try to remember to bring some mints so that I’m not craving something sweet after my salad. I’m so glad I have the vegetarian excuse to not eat the lousy catering food!
Nancy, I just turned my broiler on and you’re right, my coils didn’t glow very much either. The outer ones glowed by not the middle ones. I was also thinking that no news is good news. I should have CC’d the principal on my emails but I didn’t imagine I’d have an issue getting a response. (Not that I’m on great terms with the principal after Dave threatened to sue the school in the fall 😂). Oh, what a couple of years it’s been. Good luck today. Let us know how it goes.

Good Morning!
I tried the Bolthouse cucumber ranch dressing 2 TBSP = 1 pt I really like it - it was nice to have a creamy dressing without all the points. It was great on a salad, as a veggie dip and on a turkey pita sandwich....
Nancy, Good Luck today, praying all goes well...and praying for good results. I don’t think I ever used broil in the Cuisinart….I hope the scallops tasted good!
Jan, keeping my fingers crossed you get some good news!! Enjoy the banquet and good luck with your cake challenge....
Nancy and Jan, So very true – WW provides a Great program but the key is finding how the program works best for each of us. We are have all learned so much and continue learning as we go… I am so grateful I found this group and thankful that you are here everyday!!

Had the biopsy. Not too terrible other than the novacaine shots. The staff was so lovely - technicians, nurse, doctor - I couldn't have asked for a nicer team. We spent most of the time talking about black cherry juice <g>. They're all planning to give it a try. I should have the results on Wednesday. I was hoping it was just a cyst but that wasn't the case. Hoping for good news. I'll let you know.
Jan - It's so good that we're learning to have an unplanned snack without going off the rails. I can't imagine where I'd be without this group. I talk to you BFFs all day long as I work my way through temptations. You all agreed, for example, that it was OK to have an isolated hard butterscotch candy as I was signing in for my biopsy <g>.
Lori - The Boathouse Farms cucumber ranch dressing is on my list. I love my Ken's Parmesan and Peppercorn dressing but 1 pt would be better than 3 since I have it almost every night. Hope I like it - if I find it that is.
Kathy - Where R U??

I heard from the guidance counselor. Unfortunately he did not get the point he needs. He has to jump through several hoops as well as finish his credits to graduate. I am beside myself.

Jan - Oh no. What a disappointment. I guess now it all boils down to motivation. Any chance he can still pull it off? I am so very sorry.
