Well, "[t]he precise time of the astronomical start of spring is Wednesday at 5:58 p.m. ET."
I'm IN.
And by 5:58 PM I will be sitting on metal bleachers at the Kressling's soccer practice. 'Tis the season...
Having coffee to take the chill off... ☕️☕️☕️...

I'm IN! Spring may be here but it's still cool this morning. Temps should be close to 70 today which will make for a fabulous day!
DH and I are driving 100 miles to meet friends at a BBQ restaurant in Luling, Texas. Only in Texas do people drive 100 miles for lunch! We haven't seen these friends for over a year so it will be nice to visit with them.
Got to dash. Have a great day y'all!

I'm in. Cookbook club is today. We're reviewing Ayesha Curry's book The Seasoned Life. I'm making a Baked Mac & Cheese. An interesting twist to the recipe is the pancetta in the crumb topping. We have 18 people coming so lots of dishes to taste today. Hope everyone has a nice day. linda72, Enjoy your lunch.

linda72, my sister lives in Texas and it seems like when we go there we drive forever to get anywhere!! And yes, no one seems to mind. Big country!! lavonm, I looked at the recipe for your mac and cheese and it looks great. But...where is the Velveeta?? Good morning! Had to laugh when I checked out my front garden. ONE bunch of daffodil leaves was chomped off, definitely by a deer. They have never touched my daffodils before and it was only ONE. Must have been a young deer, unfamiliar with daffodils, lol. Not so funny were the missing magnolia buds---the deer have never touched the magnolia either but apparently there was a deer that decided to sample things. Good thing is that whoever it was stopped with samples and didn't stay for a whole meal. I have some deer-off spray that works well so I'll have to go out and spray a few things soon. It's all natural stuff made of garlic, eggs, etc so I don't feel bad about using it. I've been enjoying the fruits of my basement garden for months now and all the original plants (lettuce, spinach, green onions) have been rejuvenating after harvest plus I added some more seeds to flower boxes. I am thinking of continuing the basement garden throughout the summer---no worry about bugs, animals, or uneven watering from rainfall. I'll use my outdoor planters for tomatoes, etc. Wishing all a nice Spring Day!

Good morning. I’m in. Only in Texas do people drive 100 miles for lunch! We haven't seen these friends for over a year so it will be nice to visit with them. Oh, no, Linda—we do it in California, too. And I once worked with a woman who came from Kansas; when she would go home for Christmas her family had to drive 400 miles from their house to the airport to pick her up, then drive the 400 miles back. That was 1,600 miles of driving just to enjoy a visit from their daughter! I don’t think any of us can beat that.
I guess in honor of the start of Spring we are having rain. I am ready for consistently dry weather. I have a doctor’s appointment this morning for the follow-up colonoscopy; I don’t expect any surprises. I **may** visit WW this morning to attend the meeting that my former leader conducts—just to say “hi” to her and to see how she is doing. I think a couple of the members from our closed Monday meeting migrated to Wednesday, so maybe I’ll see a few familiar faces. That’s it. KOKO

Thank goodness it's spring! Happy spring, everyone! It's sunny where I am and I'm relieved that my homeowner's association FINALLY sent someone to repair our privacy fence after almost a year since our deck fire.
I'm happy that my energy levels have risen and my appetite is slightly reduced. Yesterday I got on the scale and was relieved to see the number down 2 lbs since I weighed myself two weeks ago. I went to my GP for my annual exam last week and it was horrible to see the scale result with me wearing heavy street clothes.
I mentioned a while back that for fun I've been trying those meal kit programs. I started with Blue Apron's WW Freestyle and now am trying Hello Fresh. Blue Apron is by far the better option for me for many reasons. Blue Apron has new and interesting meal options, it has many more low calorie (low point) meals to choose from, it includes more vegetables as part of the meals, and I find their website and app more user friendly. Hello Fresh is very starchy carb oriented, and seems to include "cheaper" ingredients than Blue Apron. Hello Fresh also repeats some of it's meals even the next week, and offers many meals that require extra costs. I may try a third meal kit provider. We'll see.

Good morning everyone! Happy Spring and thank you for the kick off MJ! Waving hi to bee!!! 👋 I have 1 purple Iris that popped up on Monday that made me extraordinarily happy, the daffodil stems are up and the stargazers are up, too soon for blooms, I guess that is why I was so surprised with the iris. Good luck at the doc zazzles. Enjoy your lunch linda72. Anyone else totally jealous of lavonm’s book club?!? Have fun Lavon! Have a great day all! ☕️☕️🤗🌱🌷

I'm in. Morning all I love the promise of warmer weather. If only I weren't so impatient. lavonm, sounds like fun. Let us know how the dishes turned out. linda72, we'll be waiting for your report on the 100 mile BBQ - have fun! cyndee, congrats on the scale! fullmahina, we've had a similar problem with the deer here too. Even the trees we purchased because they were "deer resistant" have gotten hit. It does seem like the offenders are yearlings. Spraying plants and bushes etc with natural animal urine like Liquid Fence helps but, it's hard to keep up the schedule when it's bitter cold and there's snow on the ground. zazzles, hope the doc visit goes well!
