The Mind☯Body☯Spirit connection emphasis is creating balance, wholeness, and coherence in our lives. It acknowledges that how we think, what we feel, and what we believe create the life we live and the world around us.
Let's get started! We'll post:

Good morning all! I'm taking a vacation day to piggy back on Prez day and make it a four day weekend. Got my fed and state taxes wrapped up. Getting a small return from the feds and have to pay the governor a couple bucks - glad it's done.
We went to see John Fogerty at the casino last night. He was fantastic! It was good to see different and very talented musicians up there, including his son Shane. I didn't realize what a great guitarist Fogerty is, his son is also and has his own sort of thrashy and energetic style. The famous rock session musician Kenny Aronoff was on drums (famous for his shaved head and black goggles). He is simply amazing.
Lisa and Suzanne, enjoyed reading of your gardening plans. I'm keeping it simple this season. The last couple of seasons I overextended myself. Limiting to my kitchen/herb garden and several areas for hummingbird and butterfly plants.
Daily Affirmation - fun is necessary for a healthy life!
Fitness Report - M.O.G. workout with my PT and almost 10,000 steps walking around the casino and taking stairs instead of elevators, escalators and people movers.
Health Goal - hit the gym.
Gratitude - my second progress evaluation with PT - hard work pays off, even with this old horse!

Pat, glad to see your hard work is paying off! Sounds like you were rockin it last night, good for you! I love live music. I love any music, actually.
Do any of you have a Buddelia? They have lots of new cultivars that are perennial sized in the nurseries now. 'Lo and Behold' is one I'd like to try. We moved our sad butterfly garden at the highschool to a sunnier spot and will be adding a few new plants. That is on my list. Speaking of butterflies, I had someone from Garden Gate Magazine come to see my garden last summer. They just contacted me to ask about a cultivar of a Liatris in my cirlcle garden. They're doing an article on native plants, and they'll be using a photo of two Monarchs on Liatris ligulistylisit in their magazine. Too bad the entire background of the photo is blurred out. Still a cool picture. Off to the cave for LBWO, then I am hot tubbing, mani / pedi and doing some yard work outside. 62 and sunny! Breaking a record since 1880!

Good Afternoon, Angels:
Pat: Congrats on being so committed to your PT workouts. You must be the dream-patient to all physical therapists! (I am hoping I am too.) I've been doing my various exercises nightly. Loved your affirmation and am using it. How true that is!
Lisa: I do have a couple buddleia. I had a couple many years ago but they didn't thrive do to bad placement. The two I have now are in my butterfly meadow. I'd love to add more, especially if I could find them at lower costs! I'm so jealous that you're experiencing such warm weather! The sun finally came out here and I'm loving it. The other day you were talking about perennial vegetables. This isn't perennial, but your spot might be ideal: Red-stemmed Malabar spinach. Its coloration is beautiful and it grows like a vine. You would need something for its little tendrils to wrap around. Its a great veggie. I've grown it for 2 years. I think I'd grow it again, just as an ornamental. www.bbg.org/gardening/article/red-stemmed_malabar_spinachDaily Affirmation: Fun is necessary for a healthy life!
Fitness Report: Went to morning dance class, shoveled snow and am returning this afternoon to gym for UB strength-training.
Health Goal: Return to meditation practice
Gratitude: 4-day weekend
Greetings to all who pass thru! Suzanne
