WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.
Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (therefore acknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Friday: C96D5, 23 points, 8 water Saturday: C96D6, 19 points, 4 rollovers, 5 water Still no exercise – back to normal life today, i.e. supermarkets Down 1.2!! Jan: Gotta love those Lindor truffles. Do you drink milk? For me a glass of milk completes a snack like that. I can’t blame you for being furious about the school’s inefficiency Stick to your guns GF. Inexcusable!!! My plantar fasciitis (really achilles tendonitis) was years ago and I still do those stretching exercises daily in the shower. Lori – Sorry about your results. Sounds like Mohs surgery. That’s what I had on my nose. Where is yours? They do good work these days. Mine is virtually unnoticeable. Uh oh – I guess it is time to think about setting up my closet for the new season. I also have food prep on my to do list. Somehow today got away from me. Maybe tomorrow. Kathy – What a great idea to work with a health coach. That warm island sounds delectable. Enjoy every moment. WW no longer supports Simply Filling but here’s the food list www.weightwatchers.com/sites/default/files/2016simplyfillinglist_revise21.pdf I’m pretty sure Jan has an online site that still lets you track according to the simply filling technique. I can’t encourage you strongly enough to join us daily good, bad, or indifferent. It helps me so much to talk out my successes and failures on a daily basis. Once I talk about a bad day outloud it’s off my chest and I’m more apt to get back on the beam the next day. Do you all have Windows 7 or 10? We’re still on Windows 7. I’ve just been told that it will no longer be supported as of January 2020. I’m starting to educate myself as what computers we might get for replacements. I have a good idea already but am thinking of waiting for Black Friday for the best price point.

Good morning. I spent the afternoon with my middle son yesterday. He’ll be 18 in a month, and for his birthday he wanted his ears and nose pierced. I shrugged my shoulders and said ok, thinking it’s better than a tattoo. We went to his favorite barber for a haircut, in preparation for the braids he’s going to get on Thursday. Then we headed to Kent, one of my favorite places nearby. I wanted a treat after he was done getting his piercings, and there are all sorts of different places to indulge in Kent. What did I end up getting? A container of Halo Top! 360 calories for the whole container. Considering I ran 4.5 miles and taught a step class that mornjng, I considered it a win.
I got a very apologetic email from the guidance counselor last night. I’m not sure if the principal has even seen my email, but I am satisfied for now. She apologized for both herself and the other guidance counselor more than once. They will not be able to get DS in for testing before April 18, but she said the results are immediate. If he needs to retake it May 18 he’ll be able to. Obviously they can’t do it that close to graduation for numerous kids, but for one it won’t be a problem. There are practice tests online, and we’ll study closer to April 18. I’m still very anxious about it, but I have hope now.
I made one of my old stand-bys yesterday: put a one pound box of organic baby spinach in a large pan sprayed with Pam. Cut up two colored peppers and place on top, drizzle with a small amount of olive oil and top with Parmesan. Bake at 350° until veggies are cooked. I get about four servings when the spinach is all cooked down, loaded with nutrients.
Kathy, I’ve followed the old Core program recently. I used the free iTrackbites app to log non-Core foods, using the current Smart Points values. Kind of a hybrid of both programs. Like Nancy said, checking in daily here keeps me on track, and I post even after a bad day, and after a string of bad days. It’s made all the difference in the world to me.
Lori, every time I get something out of my closet I think about how I need to organize and clean it out. Good for you for getting it done.
Nancy, I do not drink milk. I’ve never cared for it. Growing up, my mother made us each drink a glass a day. Blah! Did you get the MSF sausage patties?

Jan - The upside is that he has more study time. And I'm sure the apology takes away some of the anguish. Do they give the correct answers to the online tests and can they then be retaken? The more practice the better. All you need now is Nick's cooperation. Fingers crossed. Yes I got the sausages and also the cucumber dressing. My Ken's is much more flavorful but this was OK. Next time I'll try sprinkling with some Parmesan grated cheese. I haven't tried the sausages yet but have high hopes.

Nancy, I’m not sure about answers to the practice tests. I’m guessing that they do provide answers. I plan to take part of a test so I know what he’s up against. He’s never been a good test taker. She mentioned that when he came in for this same test last year, she had to keep waking him up. Sometimes, thinking back, I can’t believe just how bad things were. I hope you like the sausages. I’m eating some right now.

Ok - I'm going to check in daily. 6 hours of intense housework yesterday for exercise. Ate healthy and made good choices - for example, we went bowling with another family last night (so much fun!!!) and while everyone ordered burgers and onion rings, I had a grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad. I did not track anything.
I made cinnamon rolls and fresh pineapple for Sunday brunch today - yum. Don't have a plan for dinner, but am thinking of a spicy Ethiopian style stew with beef and the grain Teff mingled together. That sounds good.
Nancy -great in the WI! I bet you'll be glad to get back to regular activities.
Jan - glad you got an apology and that the test is coming up again. Hope DS can rally. Sounds like a fun day in Kent with DS 18 :-)
Lori- thanks for the Core/Smartpoints advice. Hope you have a very pleasant Sunday. Since I filled the pulpit at two churches last Sunday and went to Lenten service on Wednesday, we played hooky today. reading books and getting ready for our trip.
Have a great day all!
Kathy

This weekend we decided to redo the Living Room. We picked out different paint color, changed the furniture (switched with basement furniture), rearranged, changed curtains and switched wall hanging. The room looks totally different and all we had to buy was the paint. We were so busy we stayed home for dinner. Wound up having a bowl of cereal, which I actually enjoyed (miixed bran flakes, fiber one, and a handful of chocolate peanut butter Cheerios).
Nancy, great weigh in! Enjoy your normal activities! My mole in on the back of my arm.
Jan, I remember Kent from our college visit days. I also like the area. Halo top was a great treat, much better than regular ice cream for sure... Nice afternoon with DS! Glad the counselor apologized and Alex will have the option to retake, if needed.
Kathy, great choice at the bowling alley! Bowling was one of our favorite family fun nights...
Enjoy the rest of Sunday!!

Jan - The sausages were good. I made them in a saute pan with PAM. They were a little soft inside though nice and brown outside. Maybe I should have cooked them longer? Or maybe that's how sausages are. I don't ever have them. I had them with scrambled eggs and a mini portuguese roll for mini meal #4.
Kathy - I'm delighted that you plan to check in daily. I bet you enjoyed the grilled chicken and salad. It's the ordering stage that is challenging, but once you get past that, the chosen meal is usually just fine.
Lori - What fun to redo your living room. The back of the arm is a good place for the surgery - certainly better than the face. Cereal for dinner is a nice change every now and then. I made a big batch of cabbage soup today... 7 nice sized containers. I consumed the last of the mushu tonight. Lots of cabbage and carrots left over. I'm going to follow meeting suggestions, i.e. roasted carrots and cabbage boiled in chicken broth instead of water. I Have some corn on the cob, mushrooms and fresh green beans. Guess I'll be having a ton of veggies this week.
